I went to pick my son up there for an appt, a little after 10 and everyone was outside.  I was able, after a time, to get up with him on his cell and find out what side he was on and they allowed me to pick him up.   He said that at one point, it was announced over the PA system on the field, for everyone to "sit down and brace themselves".    I wondered what that was all about.  But when we got back, everyone was still outside so I just took him home.

They should charge the cost of the search, police, dogs, whatever, to the person when they find them.   It usually takes them no time these days, to trace this kind of stuff.

Yes, they can do all kinds of stuff when it comes to tracking people. I know there was a helicopter flying over at one point, but I don't think it ever landed. I think it was just surveying the area or something. But I don't recall them saying "Stand in the field, sit down, and brace yourself." It was never confirmed to the students as a bomb threat because the PA announced "Teachers, please grab your attendance books, and lead your students out as if it were a fire drill. It is not a fire drill." So naturally there were plenty of whispers and a lot of confusion, but when we went out, we got to the baseball and football fields and everyone figured it was bomb threat. They sent a letter home with everyone too, about a Safety Procedure meeting I believe tonight or next week. They said it was called in at a little before 10, and we left right about 5 of 10, so we must've evacuated as soon as it was called. Hope this didn't mess up the appointment!

Nope, I go there, and we just sat around in the baseball field bleachers for about 2 hours, and we just went back in all of a sudden. But that's exactly what I was thinking, nice day out, Friday, chance to go home early. I heard there was one over at Polytech High School last week too. And another at some other school around here.

The weather was perfect on Friday, some kid probably wanted to get out of school

for the day. When these kids do this, they should  be locked up & have to perform a

community service, so many hours a week for a year once they get out  AND their

parents should have to pay a fine.  What a waste of taxpayers money!

I  would like to know what the penalty is.  It doesn't seem to deter all these

prank calls!  The stress this kind of stuff  puts on parents and the school district

is appalling.
