| Oh these are facts on the teachers.... Many of them do have DUI's on their records that is my point..... you can research it for your self its not hard to do... Just go to Dover Type in a name and there it is... But they still teach it has nothing to do with their job... Lets not jump on the band Wagon just because one person gets on hereand comments on Our coach I have no reason to believe anything at this point.

the point was not that she was drinking....the problem was the DUI. It is perfectly legal for adults to consume alcohol. It IS NOT legal for them to operate a vehicle afterward. Again, you seem to wish to deflect any wrong doing on her part, even by throwing accusations at the children of teachers. No one expects "golden" behavior from anyone. Just behavior that doesn't break Delaware State Laws. You can justify it however you wish. She made a bad choice and no amount of deflection can take that away. As for the children knowing, things like being arrested don't stay quiet in small communities. Again, don't be a blind sheep, she needs to lead by example and this was an extremely bad decision on her part.
By the way....95% of the public does not get arrested for DUI...sorry.

The fact of the matter you are making accusations of OUR coach doing the same thing that 95% of americans do on a daily basis when they come home from work. She was NOT committing a crime against a child. Now of course, if she was it would be a different story. You are tring to make something out of nothing.
Lets see ... What would you do if your childs teacher was out and about having a few drinks at the local bar with their friends??? Is that the same or diferent??? I will tell ya I know quite a few of LF teachers and have been to many parties with them. If all you perfect parents would see them outside the classroom I wonder what you might say. Believe me they are not the perfect little role models you are holding this coach to. Not to mention a few teachers even have their own children on probation due to terrible crimes. Now I ask you If teachers can't control, and steer their own children in the rite direction how can they control yours and mine?? BUt, OUR coach who dedicates herself to these girls is looked at under a microscope... WAKE UP LF PARENTS and look at the people who have your children for 8 hours a day in their care.....Leave OUR coach alone and let her coach....Everyone is entitled to a personal life.

| Its seems funny to me the kids would not even know half of the crap but, now they do because of you.......You so called protective parents are not protecting anything.. You are putting it out there for all the kids to see. Why post it on here if you feel OUR coach is so bad then take it to the director don't post this crap on here where the girls can see it. Would you hold the same position if she were arrested for having narcotics or for embezzlement or for sexual misconduct? I do not have any children involved in this program but have followed the blog just out of curiosity. However, I have to say that it is a little over the top to continue to condone negative behaviors of a supposedly responsible adult. You should care about the character of any individual who influences your child. If you minimize these negative behaviors, you will subliminally be sending the children a message that it is ok. Don't be blinded by your admiration of her coaching skills. If she commits to working with kids, she needs to be responsible for her actions at all times, with or without kids around. Thats the least I would expect of someone who had a strong impact in my childs life. Think outside the "group mentality".

| What the coach does on her PERSONAL time is her business. As long as she is not under the influance while working with my child who am I to say when she leaves the Gym what she can and can't do.... However, it is very careless to be driving I agree. But it does not effect how she coaches my Daughter. Allow the Law to deal with it in a proper way. Give it a rest already there is not one person out there that has not a drink or two and I am sure if anyone was to research your back ground you are not perfect. The coach has NEVER claimed to be perfect. I am not sticking up for her OUT OF GYM ACTIONS however, I will only judge her for her IN GYM ACTIONS and they are fine with me.

All this about the coach and cheer squad hurricanes! Does anybody care that the coach just got a DUI and allegedly there was other illegal things in the vehicle? This is a travesty. She works too closely with very young and influential girls. Wake up parents! If this is the lifestyle she chooses then she need not work with these minors. I am curious to see what the reactions may be now.

| to team player, i have a cheerleader that has been on the squad since the second year.....we did not go to NJ the first year, we went the second year ( when she was cheerleader) by getting third out of # teams and did not make it past the first round. the third year we also went to NJ and made it past the second and did better were not clean, amr & had motions were not that good and the dance and stunts needed work. dont get me wrong they did the best with the coaches help, but if the coaches are only so good the cheerleaders will only be so good. it was the HPR 4th year ( incicdently courtneys first year) that they won states, went to regionals both teams were asked back for the second round in NJ, their personal scores where the highest they had been sicne the inception of "HUSKIES" ( the orignal squad) and under courtney they have flourished and have learned that cheer is hard and a real sport and their accomplishments are to be veryt proud of and by no means narcistic as one parent wrote. they have been allowed to come to thier own talent ( which they worked hard for) and become the champs that they are now..... however the"HURRICANES" ( the second squad) was indeed thought up by, requested by, researched by and given approval from HPR to courtney. 2 squads one started by HPR and one indeed by courtney....lets all just give all the negative crap a rest and let the girls do what they love...CHEER with a good coach they all love!!! I personally thank you courtney for helping our girls get to experience being champs!!! and to the hurricanes.......... GIRLS YOU ROCK!!!!! i can not be prouder of you and cant wait to see you in VA at the US finals and get to the nationals and show what you are made of!!!!! awsome job!!!!!

Court,
I just wanted to come on here and tell you that you have done an amazing job with your girls!!! Cape is very proud of all of you for going to the last competition and doing such an amazing job!! We are looking foward to seeing you guys again this weekend at competition. I know that it is hard to be coach and be a mom at the same time. I do hope that people out there see and realize all the volunteer hours we put into cheer. This is time we have taken away not only from our families, but also from ourselves. This is a sport that the coaches have to not only love and enjoy doing, but we also have to put many hours into this. You are an amazing coach and a great person. How often do people see groups of children from Cape and Harrington working together and showing sportsmanship? I know that we are looking foward to being at competitions with you and working together with you as all sports should do!! Get out there this weekend and kick some cheer butt!!! We will see you on Sat.

I can't believe this thread ever existed in the first place. I had a daughter in the Haarrington cheerleader thing a few years back, and she left because she felt it was stupid, especially how the parents acted, and how many of the girls felt cheerleading was more important than school. Most of the parents posting to this board have proven her right. It didn't help that parents would sneak off during away competitions, get to drinking and adult horseplay, leaving a few disgruntled yet responsible parents to watch over the girls (and don't even try and deny it, because some of the girls witnessed it - enough said).
Parents - many of you old washed up cheeleaders who want to relive your HS days through your daughters - need to get a life, let your glory days die and stop grooming a crop of narcisists. You should be getting your daughters interested in math, science, literature, world events and for the sports oriented - field hockey, soccer, softball, baseball, ice skating, lacrosse, and swimming. Sorry, but that's not opinion, that's truth.

The other mom whos child drank beer has bragged to many parents about threatening the mom who addmitted giving it to the children,then lied in the report. karma sucks doesnt it.... and the woman would never give the child beer? this is the same woman who at the last hurricane awards was doing shots with her husband and the coach allowed a cheerleader in her care, (the same child that claims to spend so much time with the coach and treats her like a second mom? isnt that what she said?) to get on the back of a motorcycle with the husband after taking shots and drinking beer. there were plenty of people there who remember that too. like it was stated this was not the first incident. see people were all nice til you mess with our children and apparently the child took a lot before she had to quit the team, someone mentioned bullying on the forum, what about the grown woman bullying children on the mat whenever she wants, there are too many whitnesses out there. and if you want to have the law involved I can assure you the coach has violated many codes of conduct involving her cheerleaders. well this forum is done game over the coaches friends can no longer harm our children Thank you
