| Lost in Harrington-actually that's quite amusing. I also contribute everyday at an elementary school with Kindergarten through third grade students. Everyday, I see children who need someone to care about them whether its through sports, school, church or some other community association. BTW-I'm sure you have seen my children throughout the district. If you have, you would be kind enough to come up and tell me how well behaved and wonderful they are to have in class because I've had several teachers, administrators, and coaches do just that. I'm glad that you have raised your five children and hope that you have done a wonderful job. Also, I was not a cheerleader nor am I living my life through my children. I am keeping them involved in all kinds of things: school, sports, church, etc. Also, at our home, school is the number one priority. Enough said!

What an honor to be ranked 1st at the US Finals and now you girls are the US Champions for your division.
Be proud of your accomplishment! You have let those other teams know that Hurricanes from Harrington, Delaware is not a team to mess with.

Believing That You Can Do It!
As the day of our competition nears,
Remember the smiles, forget the tears.
Remember the times we've spent together,
Cherish them now, cherish them forever.
Next year it will not be the same,
Some girls lost, some girls gained.
Doing the routine one more time,
To fix that motion and straighten that line.
We've had many falls and lots of tough breaks,
We took our chances but knew what was at stake.
We are all exhausted and ready to rest,
But first we must show the world who is best.
Regardless of what the judges criticize,
Remember they weren't there to realize,
We sweated, we ached, and we worked all the while,
And we hid all the pain with a convincing smile.
So show them now what we have worked for,
Give a little extra where there needs to be more.
Smile and know that we have finished the race,
Regardless of what we win or place.

The Champion Within
Champions are made when you believe in the possibility of the perfect team.
When you believe in the flyer even though she’s fallen before.
When you believe in the base even though she’s faltered before.
When you believe in the tumblers even though they’ve stumbled before.
When you believe in the back tucks even though they’ve crashed before.
When you believe in the routine even though it’s fallen short before.
When you believe in the girl beside you and yourself even though you’ve failed before.
Believing in each other and yourself reveals the Champion within.

Through My Eyes
As we walk through the door, our hair up in curls,
We watch some of the girls practice their flips and twirls.
It's our turn to practice, we run through everything once or twice;
All stunts are solid, the routine looks nice.
Our team is called, it's time to go on,
Our minds go blank, the routine is gone.
The crowd goes wild as we spirit out,
Everyone is nervous without a doubt.
The music starts, the routine comes back,
This is the real thing, no time to slack.
Formation runs and motion drills, we've all come to hate,
Really paid off, 'cause we're looking great.
We've practiced for hours to look good for three minutes,
We give it our all right up to the finish.
First place or last, we know we've done our best,
Now it's time to cheer for the rest.

Sorry, but I contribute to higher learning and education, and do my job to help a lot of people every day across the state and at the university level. Too many issues and overindulgent parents these days. Too much emphasis on sports and not enough on academia. I deal with this every day. Look at the overall crap that has been posted here regarding this subject and see the postings the "angels" have put here and it reflects on who they are. And deal with it. I am not the only adult that prepubescent kids participating in cheerleading is silly. In many ways it is old cheerleaders trying to relive their glory days through through their kids (sorry, but I know some of the moms and their daughters). Get a life, they never did.
Sorry, have no beefs with parks and rec - wasn't around until my youngest was just about too old to play. I just have the same problem that so many do - a problem with little girls posting garbage and being obnoxious in a public forum.
BTW - raised 5 kids in the district. No parent thinks they are overindulgent until they have it pointed out to them. They make excuses for their kids and deny or or ignore it until their kids grow up and reflects it. And, yep, I've probably run into your kids in the district, so don't try and convince me they are angels - remember I know some of the parents personally. Nufff said.

| Lost in Harrington-First of all, this was posted in support of the girls, not to impress you. It doesn't really matter to me if you care or not. This is a public forum and I'm entitled to post things in support of the team. As for contributing to society, I do contribute every day in every way in my job. In addition, my husband and I give countless hours to Harrington Parks & Rec and Lake Forest High School to help children. If that's not helping society, I'm not sure what else you would be looking for. As for assuming that I'm part of a silly circle, I was helping H P & R the second year that it started the Huskies program and long before my daughter every cheered. I think you should probably think before you speak, especially about matters that you know nothing about! While my husband and I are giving countless hours to a town in which we don't even live, what are you doing? Oh, on newszap bashing people that you know nothing about. Gee, I wonder if one of your children are in any of these programs and you are just a parent that does the tuck and roll or do you just have someone else take your child to and from practices. Oh, that would be people like my husband and I and the countless other parents that go out of their way to help children! Also, my husband and I are hardly overindulgent nor do we consider our children to be spoiled. Both of our children go to school, get good grades, and have had no referrals in school. Again, before you go making assumptions, perhaps you should make sure you know all of the children before you go making statements such as these. Enjoy people:
Do you think anybody outside your silly circle really cares about overindulgent parents and spoiled mouthy children? If you do, you are mistaken. More important things out there than your catty group winning a silly competition. Get a life and contribute to society.

Congratulations to your girls on their achievement.
Like it or not, people are entitled to their opinon and responsible adults have the opinion that anyone who works directly with children contribute to the influences that help mold who they will become. Like it or not, pretty sparkly postings or not, grown ups can hold opposing viewpoints.

Congrats to all!!! Girls, coach, and parents...
With out the coaches dedication to all the girls the girls would have NO routine to work hard at to achieve such recognition as NATIONAL CHAMPS, with out the parents the girls would have no support (getting them to practice and competitions, paying the fees, ensuring that they push it to the next level, cheering the girls on) So I say again Congrats to all!!!! you ALL DESERVE IT!!!
NOW LETS GO GET ANOTHER ONE THIS WEEKEND AT HERSHEY!!!!
Favoritism??? I believe they all cheer, they are all part of the routine, its not like some girls get to cheer while others sit on the bench and watch.... I have said it before if you are unhappy PLEASE LEAVE so the rest of us can enjoy the cheer experience with our daughters with out all YOUR DRAMA!!!! Thanks

| jellybean.....are you kidding me? We are all entitled to our opinions, I will give you that. However, these are some pretty serious accusations that you are making and can carry some heavy weight if the coach decided to pursue this further. Please consider that this is a place for us to appreciate our girls and to support them through their endeavors. What the coach does in "her" free time is just that...."her free time" it is none of our business. The moment that she brings it to the gym is when we as parents have the right to question her behavior. And as far as the favoritism, you are going to have that anywhere you go, school, work, and even other sports teams. It is an unfortunate part of life, it happens all of the time. Although I must say that I strongly disagree. I feel as though the girls are pleased with her and that she has done an exceptional job with them as well as for them. I am not trying to cause trouble but almost every time I log on to support the girls there is some sort of negativity thrown at the coach and it is a shame because we are supposed to be adults, at this point enough is enough. If you seriously have an issue with the coach why don't you give her a call and give her the chance to defend herself to your accusations....just a suggestion!

Are you freakin people kidding me! These girls went to Virginia Beach = competed in the nationals- won 1st place. and what do you do, you still come on here and bash the coach and take it away from the girls. You could not just come on here and congratulate the girls for a great job. You are selfish! Well here you go as what was posted before if you are unhappy go! We hate to see your child go after the Harrington Hurricanes had such a great season but if this is what you need to do:
Delaware Explosion: 653-2590
East Coast Nitros: 285-3222
Coastal Magic: 424-2474
Cheer Force All Stars: 218-7384
Shore Thunder: 856-6832
Top Flight All Stars: 353-0256
For the extremely unhappy....Hurricanes is not your last resort. Move on I provided the numbers for you. Let the girls who want to cheer for the Hurricanes cheer with no drama and let them cheer because they want to be there and do there best as a team.

| I think the girls should be the ones proud of THEMSELVES! They do all the work and deserve all the props. ALL the girls! Now that some of us are seeing the favoritism and nonsense that goes on inside as well as outside of practice lets take our girls elsewhere. Where they may all be appreciated, not just a select few. Everyone is so disgusted and tired of this coach being put on a pedestal. What she does outside of the gym DOES affect the girls because a few of the girls are in her personal CLICK so they here it all! and thus, so do the others! i wonder if all of you women defending her behavior would defend it if you knew what she was doing with your husband or significant other! she leads a wicked double life! Ask questions! pay attention to what she does outside of the gym! it is IMPORTANT!

Are you a fan of football,
soccer or cheer?
Do you sit in the stands
and remain silent?
Do you stand up and scream
when your team gets a score?
How about when they hit that perfect stunt?
This is called team spirit.
Are you found in the background;
not wanting to be seen?
Or are you sporting your team colors
and waiting for Everything to begin?
Now this is true team spirit.
Not just parents but to all of our fans
Kids work hard, play hard so stand up and clap your hands.
Drama is not needed, parents not getting along is bad.
Teach us or let us teach you that friendship is the best thing to have.
Nothing nice to say?
Let out a cheer, a scream a great job thats all we want to hear!

Harrington Hurricanes Intermediate and Advanced squads:
Good Luck at Competition this weekend!!!

CHEERLEADERS
Cheer-leading is not what everyone thinks
it’s not just a bunch of girly girls wearing pink
it’s a talent-filled sport that takes effort
I don’t care what anyone else says, A SPORT it is.
It is hard being judged by your peers
and being interrupted when you’re doing your cheers
with boos or whistles from fans in the stand,
and the look you’re given by haters pretending to be fans.
We work hard, tumble Pound and cheer loud.
We are not stupid girls cheering to just look pretty.
Most of us are on the honor roll, playing numerous sports and cheer-leading is another activity.
The activities we love to do in our own eyes seem to always get put down by the outsider eyes.
We will continue to cheer, hard, proud and loud. Because thats what we like to do...in our eyes.

It is my life I am concerned with…
It has nothing to do about worrying about Court's life, it has to do with mine, when her or anyone else gets behind the wheel of a vehicle under the influence and may cross the path of a loved one of mine, or me. In my previous post, I invited anyone that disagreed with me to contact my through private message, so that you may see things from my jobs perspective, and as I figured, ZERO takers, just goes to show the type of people that post defending the actions of people that take risk's, and make, as stated by another, "mistakes". yeah, we all make mistakes, and some have the opportunity to make good on them, but to this day, don't know of anyone that can bring a person back to life, and with all the awareness on driving impaired, that is a mistake that is unjustified by anyone with the god given sense they were born with.
Nough said, not posting on this subject anymore, if you want to talk face to face, you know what to do...

The sheer defending by you blind supporters in defense of an indefensible topic just highlights the stereotype of "ditzy cheerleader". Use your brain and think about what you are trying to defend.

For the Love of My Family wrote: Oh these are facts on the teachers.... Many of them do have DUI's on their records that is my point..... you can research it for your self its not hard to do... Just go to Dover Type in a name and there it is... But they still teach it has nothing to do with their job... Lets not jump on the band Wagon just because one person gets on hereand comments on Our coach I have no reason to believe anything at this point.
Would you care to provide a link where we can check teachers criminal records as you claim you have ? I think it is callous and insulting on your part to broadstroke paint that many teachers have DUIs on their records without proof to back your statement up.Last edited on Mon Apr 20th, 2009 12:06 am by Milfordian II

To those of you that defend the actions of anyone that would get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle, as their business, and only their business, are absolute idiots!!! If you think that it’s not mine, or anyone else’s business that may cross their paths on the road, drop me a private message with your contact information, and I will have you come sit with me @ my job, and you can maybe explain to someone that their family member was just injured or killed because of an under the influence driver.
My reply has nothing to do with the fact that this person is a cheer coach, or teacher, and not really interested with the reply that other Americans do it, you are either a complete moron, or a kid to defend the actions of this person.
Yep, I said it, drop me a line with your contact info, and I will invite you to my job, and say it again, in person

| You people are absolutely ridiculous. Does anyone have a life or is our Coach's life so amazing that everyone keeps tabs on her. My child cheers for her and I knew absolutley nothing about this until I read it here. and you know what it does not change my opinion of her. What she does in her own personal life is her business! Whats sad is the kids who come on here to read this garbage will now read all this stuff on here. Another sad thing is before you posted this crap is it true? Are you posting on rumors or were you there with the cop when all this happened? Awww come on people grow up! Stop running rumors, Stop being jelaous for some reason! The girls love to cheer and the parents will make the decision to stay and they stayed through all your crap everyone posted before!!!! GROW UP and be adults! I am sure we all are not virgin Marys out there!
