I probably will.  She actually came to my house a few weeks ago and introduced herself.  She was going door to door in my neighborhood.

In just over a day, all this campaign rubbish will be gone. We'll know if Joe Biden will be Senator or  Vice President. We'll know whether we'll have four more years of the Bush administration or see history made with Senator Obama as President. We'll see real new direction in Jack Markell's election to Governor and  see whether incumbents can hold their seats in the legislature or whether Darryl Scott, Brad Bennett and Trey Paradee can unseat Nancy Wagner, Donna Stone and Pam Thornburg in the House. From pure voter registration figures, I'd say the Democrats will take control of the House and the Senate will pick up a seat by the election of Harold Stafford over Senator Bonini. Brian Bushweller may have a tough time beating Jim Hutchison, but from registration numbers and Hutch's lack of knowledge, he should squeak out a win. What ever your persuasion, take the time to vote this year. If you don't vote, don't bitch afterwards. Lines may be long at times and there will be plenty of last minute trash pieces in your mailbox.  Some of that information is true. Some is just skewed to make one candidate look bad and the other good. I'd say, if you have real questions, call the candidate today at home. Talk to them. Listen to what they say. If they slam their opponent or can't articulate, with justification, what they want to do, or if they are rude, don't vote for them. But vote. It's your biggest right as a U.S. citizen.

I haven't heard a single negative from Donna Stone or her campaign.  Too bad I cant say the same for Bennett.  He even sent a letter stating that the information that I received was bogus. Problem is, I never received any bogus information.

I agree there has been an excessive amount of political campaign mail this year.

The negative adds are just awful.  I would prefer to hear their position on the issues

and not all that mud slinging nonsense.  Thank goodness we only have to endure

two more days of this type of garbage.

I will not be voting this year because I will be busy dumping Bill Bennett's campaign flyers that he keeps mailing to me on his lawn.

When it comes to electing the next State Senator from the 17th district, my decision is not based on who is "nice guy" as you referred in your last posting, but instead on who will do the best job and represent the people of the 17th and of Delaware.  I have met them both and they are both friendly, "nice guys" but that is not what a vote should be based on. There is NO WAY I could cast a vote for Hutch - he has not voiced his opinion on ANY issues and has offered NO solutions or plans for legislation to fix those issues that concern all of us in Delaware.  Instead it is Brian Bushweller who has been up front and very forthcoming with his ideas and discussions of the issues.  Since the beginning of candidacy and all through the most recent debate. If you have been to any of the candidate forums with both candidates it was VERY obvious that Bushweller is the only knowledgeable, informed, and prepared candidate on the issues in this race.  It seems the Republicans may have just put Hutch in there to be an affable face that may win votes of the uninformed voter.  In this race and many others I hope that the voters actually vote for the better candidate and vote on substance instead of the candidate that is trying to win votes by running on the past.  The funny thing is when the past has come back to haunt "Hutch" he has claimed foul.  What, hasn't he said he wants open government, I guess that doesn't apply to revealing his wasteful spending habits the last time the public voted him into office.   I, for one, want a state senator that can think for himself and is actually informed on the issues.  I actually find it insulting to the people of the 17th that Hutch has not even bothered to become more knowledgable on any these issues - is that how he would act in the senate too?  We saw enough of his wasteful spending when he was Mayor, I hope that everyone in the 17th will see through his facade and recognize that we need an informed and knowledgeable guy representing us in the Senate - Vote Brian Bushweller - he is the only informed and experienced candidate in the issues surrounding the state legislature.

I agree. I think that both Brian Bushweller and James Hutchison would be great Senators. However, I think that Darryl Scott is the best candidate for Representative and Nancy Wagner proved that point when she went so negative on him.

She has had two push polls and three lit drops on him and he hasn't responded yet. But I am sure that he will.

I like Hutch, but am not sure he is the better person for the job.

However, I thought his campaign literature was brilliant in that he was able to distance himself from the party but not too far.  McCain could learn a few things by seeing who did Hutch's mailing.

I agree Fred. I think everyone should get out to vote. Although, I'd be remiss if I didn't hope that they got out to vote for Darryl Scott and either Hutchison or Bushweller. They are both very nice but I think I'll be voting for the former mayor.

I don't want to tell anyone how to vote but I'd like this outcome.

I am amazed at the number of people that are saying they will vote this year. I hope they do; there is a tendency to want "your" people to vote, be they older/younger/conservative/liberal.  We need ALL peole to not only vote, but to get involved. Blogs like this tend to be marginalized, but it IS a level of involvement that people didn't have before...so it well can be a good thing.
