Show me the links. I've done my research, and can show you where he has proposed 20%, but 28 % is not in his plan.
And I've done my research, and have been doing it for a few years.
The claim that Obama would impose a 28 percent tax on the profit from “all home sales” is false. Both Obama and McCain would continue to exempt the first $250,000 of gain from the sale of a primary residence ($500,000 for a married couple filing jointly) which results in zero tax on all but a very few home sales.
BTW....welcome. We've discussed these before, and we can do again, but I suggest if you really want to discuss them, break them down into seperate threads.
What I suggest, however, is that you realize that people haven't been hoodwinked, asleep, they haven't been brainwashed, they haven't been lied to (well, no more than usual) and they know EXACTLY what they are doing.

He wants to give social security to illegals
He wants to raise the capital gains tax to 28% on ALL home sales. With McCain, it would be 0% on sales up to $500,000 per home.
He opposes new offshore drilling
wants to institute socialized health care
DOES NOT support gun ownership rights. So if someone broke into your home and you shot them indefense of your family and property, you will be prosecuted.
Wants to raise the dividend tax from 15% to 39.6%. So if you have any $ invested in stocks,IRA,mutual funds or anything that pays or reinveste dividends, almost 40% of the money you earn will go to taxes.
Do your research.

And where in his campaign is he taking the profits and giving them to illegals?
And yes...Grandma might see the capital gains tax rise from 15-20% IF she makes more than 165K a year. If she makes less than 50K a year, her income tax is eliminated.
Bottom line is that much more than likely she will do better under Obama's tax plan, if he gets to implement it. You can't take one particular part of it and ignore the other parts, as you have done.

| There goes the neighborhood. And by the Neighborhood, I mean the whole country. Such a shame that so many people won't see the mistake they've made until it's too late, when everything we've worked hard for all our lives is systematically taken away and given to illegals and welfare recipients, and we are all getting the same level of medical care as third world countries. What about our elderly people? Elderly people count on their homes as part of their retirement income. Say your Grandma wants to downsize to a smaller home. Obama would take 28% of the profit that Grandma makes on the sale of her home. So where's Granny supposed to live and how does she pay her bills after Obama has taken part of what she's worked her whole life for and given it to welfare recipients and illegals??

| I think the question of how many blacks just voted for a brother because this was their first chance to do so will be discussed for a long time but in the end , it doesn't matter, they have the right to vote and they made the choice for whatever reason. I can only hope the country doesn't suffer irreperable damage from the man's election and smile ruefully at the elation so many have over this event. Beyond that, it's time to think about the best defense to take up for the next two to four years and to remember while we don't all have to agree we at least have to get along with each other to some extent.

They did so only because he was black.
I don't doubt that some voted because he was black, but I seriously doubt that it was anywhere near 50%. I also seriously doubt that there were any signficant number of blacks who disagreed with his policies but voted for his skin color.
The problem is that they DID know what his policies were, and that they DO know what he stands for. From what I've read, most who voted against him didn't know his policies, but voted because they didn't "trust" him, or didn't "know" him despite him having given about 6,000 speeches, a web site, television interviews, etc., etc.
And most people if you ask them what they didn't know was "whether he was a Muslim or not." Membership in a church, having your kids baptized in a church, donating to a church, and never haven been seen in a mosque apparently leaves some room for doubt.

Here is your answer....I grow weary of never having my questions answered. However, if I do answer, it won't be "my" rights lost, it will be rights lost PERIOD.

However, why not tell me what rights you will lose under Obama? What policy has he said that will infringe on your rights?

| Just a thought, but shouldn't you already be in mourning for all the soldiers that have lost their lives to defend the country you NOW feel you should mourn for. Why??? Because our President is a black man? How far have we really come if race is STILL going to be an issue. We can tell our kids not be racist and not say mean things to people that aren't like themselves but we can't allow a VERY capable man to be the President of The United States of America because of the color of his skin. What year is this anyway? I realize that there are still race wars going on in this world, but it is still a sad day apparently for those folks that havent gotten over the fact that the color of your skin does not demean you, it's the people around you that are still worried about it that demeans them. Think about it. Wear black because it looks good on you, not to mourn. This isn't the day to mourn. Mourn for those people who have lost their homes in foreclosure, stocks, war, fires, floods...etc. Not because our President is black man, who was apparently smart and educated enough to get as far as he has gotten. He wants to change the world to make it a better place. The more you hate, the longer it's going to take him to make that change happen. People don't have a problem voting in a white man to be our President and watch him destroy what people have worked so hard to achieve. Give the President Elect Obama a chance. I'm sure he cannot do any worse than those before. The world can only get better from here.

What freedoms did you lose in the last 8 years Fred? Just curious.

| YUp Fred I was and still am. An elected charlaton, a dupe for a more insidious group who are bent on destroying the constitution more than it already has.

AP says Obama wins in Delaware
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) _ Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has won the presidential contest in Delaware, home to running mate Joe Biden.
The call was based on an analysis of voter interviews, conducted for The Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.
Obama's victory over Republican John McCain was expected, given that Biden lives here and Democrats outnumber Republicans in Delaware by almost 100,000 voters.
The win puts three electoral votes in Obama's column.
Obama and his wife, Michelle, both campaigned in Delaware during his primary contest against New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, but did not appear during the general election campaign.
But Biden showed up at the University of Delaware last week, asking supporters to campaign in neighboring Pennsylvania on behalf of the Democratic presidential ticket.

AP says Markell wins Delaware governor's race
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) _ Democratic state treasurer Jack Markell has defeated retired judge Bill Lee in the Delaware governor's race.
The call is based on an analysis of voter interviews, conducted for The Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.
Markell's victory over Lee, a Republican making his third bid for governor, was preceded by Markell's stunning upset over Lt. Gov. John Carney in the Democratic primary — the most expensive gubernatorial primary in state history.
Carney had been endorsed by many members of the Democratic Party establishment, including Gov. Ruth Ann Minner.
Minner, who couldn't seek re-election because of term limits, will hand over the reins of government to Markell in January.

By RANDALL CHASE
Associated Press Writer
DOVER, Del. (AP) _ Steady rain didn't keep Delawareans from turning out in large numbers Tuesday to cast their votes in the presidential contest between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.
High turnout was reported statewide, and elections commissioner Elaine Manlove said she expected turnout would top the 65 percent of registered voters who cast ballots in 2000. Manlove said Tuesday afternoon that she had received some complaints about long lines at the polling places, but that the election was going smoothly. Turnout during the evening after-work hours appeared steady but not as heavy as the early morning rush.
Obama was favored to win in Delaware, where running mate Joe Biden lives and where Democrats outnumber Republicans by almost 100,000 voters.
McCain, however, showed appeal among the military population tied to Dover Air Force Base.
"My husband and I like his military background," said Lindsey Zahner, 24, a nurse whose husband is stationed at Dover.
Zahner said McCain's military experience and support of the armed forces was the key factor in her vote.
"I just thought McCain was better fit to be my husband's boss," she said.
But Obama showed strong appeal as well, particularly among the black community in Wilmington, Delaware's largest city.
"It's part of history," said Colean Farmer, 48, a retired nurse who said she typically doesn't vote, but that Obama's candidacy inspired her to come to the polls.
If McCain wins, Farmer said, "It's time to move to Canada."
Anthony Plant, son of Democratic state Rep. Hazel Plant, said Obama connected better with the middle class and the economically disadvantaged.
"He's not above the clouds. He's right down to earth," said Plant, who is black. "The small person is not being recognized and not getting a fair slice of the pie."
Even some Republicans were voting for Obama.
"I thought we needed a change," said Norman Barkman, 55, a plant controller who voted at Fred Fifer Middle School in Camden. "I think Obama's got some real good ideas."
John Schulties, a Republican who works for Kent County government, voted for McCain because of his experience, but did not sound overly enthusiastic about his pick.
"It was probably a tougher choice for me this year than usual," he said.
Charles Ware, 75, and his wife, Margaret, 78, both Democrats from Felton, were not impressed with either presidential candidate.
"It was so hard to decide between the two," said Margaret, who made a last-second decision to vote for Obama as "the lesser of two evils."
"Oh my gosh, it was awful," she said.
Charles Ware also voted for Obama, but only because Biden was his running mate.
"In case something happens to him, he's got a better backup person than McCain," Ware said. "That's the only reason."
