I am happy to report that our primary Doc at Southside Family Practice calls everyone with results (positive or negative) and leaves a message if you aren't home.  Maybe you need to show as much concern in choosing your doctor as you do your produce,  maybe you do.

The doc that i work for call patients when labs or testing is abnormal...and have them scheduled for further testing, etc...immediately!. think about it, if they called ALL patients about ALL labs they would pretty much be on the phone ALL day long!

I'm sorry you're having such an awful time with your doctor's office!!  The doctor I work for is very specific regarding how we are to treat patients, i.e. with respect and compassion at ALL times.  Perhaps you need to find a doctor who holds his staff to a higher standard.

That's why there is choice currently.  Pretty soon under the government control, you won't get a choice to move.  Customer Service will be a dinosaur.

I guess the real issue here is that this medical practice, and perhaps others, are exempt from providing good customer service.  My perception of any issue associated with this practice is the responsibility of the practice and not a third party.  As for the results of my tests, I've had annual phsycals with this practice for several years.  Not once have they called me to schedule an appointment to discuss the results, nor have they called me to simply convey the results.  Furthermore, it's next to impossible to get through their phone system to speak to a knowledgable party regarding lab results.  And, when I do, I get the very strong feeling that the "All results are great" response is very dismissive.

There's a new website called RateMDs.com that might be of some help. There seems to be an abundance of new medical buildings, etc., being built in Kent Co. You'd assume that would also mean new Dr's are coming in ,but maybe the supply hasn't caught up to the demand brought on buy the rampant overdevelopment down here.

You have obviously had the very good fortune of not needing to see a doctor in quite a while -- congratulations!     Doctors are going for third party billing arrangements whereby the doctor doesn't have a bookkeeper in the office -- that is provided by an outside vendor for fee.     Send in your check and it will silence them.     About your test results;  you have good insurance, so the doctor isn't going to discuss the results on the phone -- they want to see you in the office for a "follow-up" regardless of whether they have good news or other (another office visit fee).

Do you find your doctor's office inept?  I'm not going to mention where I go, but I would like recommendations as to where to go.  My doctor's office sends us a bill (the first we've received) claiming an amount less than $3 is more than 90 days past due and subject to submission to a collection agency!  There's also a current charge as well which is not past due.  I suspect the original statement was never issued probably because they didn't want to waste postage on a sub $3 bill.  Now that a current charge puts it over $5 a statement is sent with the nasty little collection reminder due to the date of the initial charge.  Futhermore, I find it nearly impossible to get through to the doctor's office.  Often placed on an automatic hold only to have it disconnect if the hold queue is too long.  I had a recent physical, got the requisite blood work done (along with some additional work) and can't get through to find out the results.  I'm not even sure if the doctor has seen the results!  Is this common?  Does your doctor (or at least a knowledgeable associate) give you a call regarding your physical/bloodwork results?  If so I'd like to know where you go.  Thanks much.
