| To "Stevem" - that was my point as well. Obama thought it necessary to say America is not a Christian country. Shouldn't he have said America is a free country where no religion is officially practiced? I am not so sure that the Founding Fathers were even "Christians" themselves, but they did believe in God Almighty. Personal salavation is asking God for forgiveness of sin in the name of Jesus Christ - it's a personal thing, not a national religion, so Obama was correct. This has all been documented in the Bible and isn't easily discussed here.

Its a FREE nation.
As a a non religious person, that "christian nation" nonsense always bothered me. BTW I am a republican and am definately not an obama supporter.

| The presidency could now be in the hands of a man ineligible to serve as the chief of state. There was something produced in Hawaii certifying that Barack Obama is a citizen of Hawaii. It don't look like a birth certificate, at least not like others I have seen. The TV news has moved past this issue which may be a major story if no real birth certificate exists. There are many Democrats who said they will prove something and never do because they can't. Now the IRS is going after Senator John Kerry for tax evasion and he has never produced any military records from Vietnam as he said he would. I read the link Crock included and it is good information on the "cover-up" of Obama's missing birth certificate. It was swept under the rug. It's like the myth that "Congressional over-sight" actually exists - it doesn't!

Would a true Christian make the statement Barack Obama recently did that America is NOT a Christian nation? No president before him ever uttered such a proclamation as that one. Now, if he had said "America is not a one religion country" it would have been less provacative. Or if he had said America is secular owed to it's founding father's intolerance of religious oppression, that is a true and tolerant statement. But to says it isn't "Christian" begs the question, then what is it? Obama is an Islamic Muslim and he is hiding behind his wife's insistance that he convert to her religion for their politicial future. There is no higher poltical office for Obama, so now his Muslim leanings are creeping in - like being apologetic for America's short comings as a "Christan nation" and disavowing it as part of the nation's heritage.
Obama isn't mentioning the Muslim's extremist recruiting which is increasing across America. It is happening in prisons and in street gangs among young Latinos and African Americans. We've seen only the beginning of the trouble coming to America sponsored by Muslim activists and extremists. One day it could explode (literally) across a much weakened United States under a charlatan president. He has put on a great "act" so far, but the thugs, rascals, and malcontents he's hired will soon emerge, including the woman about to be installed on the US Supreme Court. Getting her in-place quickly will insure Obama can do as he pleases with no fear of the US justice system.
