The budget will be voted on in the House of Representatives by June 30th. It needs three/fifths majority to pass; that would be ALL democrats and one republican. Senator McBride, stay true to your convictions!
Points you should know:
1. A 1.5 paycut for teachers plus two furloughed days equals 2.5% which is the suggested cut to all state employees, so teachers didn't get a "sweeter" deal.
2. Reduction in health care premium benefits equals a 2% pay cut.
3. Senate Bill 120: "The Health Security Act" is currently in committee. This bill calls for a 2.5% tax increase on all Delaware individual or joint returns. An additional surcharge of 2.5% on income over $250,000 and another surcharge of 2.5% on income over $500,000.
2.5 + 2 + 2.5= 7% Add to this any additional tax increases that all Delawareans must pay. This is an unfair burden to lay at the feet of state employees.
I guess the leadership of the JFC think if they muddy the waters enough they can make you think they saved you a lot of money.

| When you put total control of government in the hands of one of the two terrorist organizations (Republicans and Democrats), you get this kind of garbage. Bush and company destrpyed our country for 6 years, but the Dems have never shown any better judgement when given complete control either (see Carter administration, current New Jersey government, etc.). As much as both parties suck, we need at least two (really we need to abolish political parties, install term limits, and make major systemic changes) so their opposing incompetence can balance each other out (see Clinton 95-01, Reagan (minus the deficits) and Bush 41). Unfortunately, the arrogance, crookedness, and stupidity displayed by these terrorist organizations for many years has beaten down the majority of our electorate such that they don't care when they cast their vote. Such is the downward spiral of our once-great country.

I'd like to publicly thank Senator David McBride for his recent decision to maintain personal loyalty, integrity and compassion for state workers in his vote of "NO" to the JFC's proposed budget. I takes a lot for a man to deviate from his party on something like this and it is admirable to the people watching his service to Delawareans.
There is a complete plan provided by the leadership of the minority party that closes the financial gap with NO PAY CUTS. What is the deal? Partisanship, plain and simple.
The following is a breakdown of the votes by Joint Finance Committee Members, their party affiliation and district. WHEN are these people going to get the idea that we want BIPARTISAN efforts to solve this problem? If the dems can't come up with a plan that is fair and equitable maybe they should reach across the aisle and ask for some help.
