as a taxpayer and a family member of state workers, I find myself In a very unique situation. I understand most at this time raising taxes seems like the worst like the thing that could happen. Well on that same note what makes anyone think that state workers can afford a pay cut I know some salaries were put out there in the paper for superintendents. I can tell you the average state does not make nearly t much. I have been very fortunate to able to help my family when they need it. And theses our ones that work for the state. Therefore, what will happen if there pay is even cut the 2.5 % the JFC agreed upon? Now from my understanding this pay cut does not include the Judicial & Legislators according to Our Governor. My question to Gov. Markell does this include the prosecutor that plead guilty to DUI while driving a state vehicle and is able to retire with full pension &benefits. The office of budget & management (omb) & and the auditors offices were looking at different places & ways such as supply, state vehicles & credit card use to make cut. I'd like the auditors office to look at our legislators credit card use and find out why they our still going out to high dollar restaurants On the taxpayer. Yet they our ones making decisions to cut pay & raise taxes. In addition, if we our in such a budget crisis why our we building a new courthouse. there our other office that needed to be replaced before that one did. workers did not blow this budget. Therefore, I ask you our ELECTED OFFICALS how will you all be able to look at your selves knowing the lives that will be in turmoil, people making choices between food & medicine. I hope the choices won’t WON”T Be to hard the next Election.
