Lets see who retires this year from the district office. I wonder if the person will be hired as a consultant as Milford did with Bob Smith.

Consolidation is what is needed!  There are far too many overpriced school administrators in this little state!  Give the Department of Education some real responsibility and administrative oversight.  As it stands now, it (DOE) has no real function..

it seems to me that they are both overpaid, and its reflected in the job they are doing in both cases niether one seems to be worth what they are being paid .

I was listening to the news and they posted the salary for Tim Geithner, U.S. Treasury Secretary.  He makes $193,000 per year, and look at the responsibilites he has during this economic downturn.  Cape's Superintendent makes approx $156,000.  Seems like someone is overpaid.

It must be nice to be overpaid and underworked...that could of been the super and two other teachers $40,000. each so sad. Thats more then most of the parents in the district make.

I think that upgrades in technology are warranted.  I also think that a clear bill of spending should have been set forth prior to the referendum in which it was stated that these funds would be used for the sole purpose of buying new computers, hardware, and software.  If this had been done, the voters would have been a lot more comfortable voting 'yes' for this.

I guess the full page ad which stated all salaries by administrators taken out by those against the referendum got the attention and ire of the voters.  Quite frankly, when Cape would not account for the intended spending of those funds in some detail, the voters spoke.  I, for one, am tired of government (including schools) spending my tax dollars without some accountability, whether they be excess dollars or not.  I think many feared that those dollars would only go to salary increases and hiring more chiefs.

I must recuse myself, I will however discuss it and some other issues that will really shock you in private message if you like.

The Sunday newspaper posted the salaries of Cape Henlopen School District salaries.  The Superintendent is paid almost $160,000 a year.  Quite frankly, I was shocked.
