Final Temporary Service Interruption Scheduled to Accommodate Electric Reliability Improvements in Lewes, Del.
LEWES, Del. – Delmarva Power’s transmission line work will necessitate a final, planned power outage for approximately 3,500 customers served by the Lewes Board of Public Works from 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 21 to 3:30 a.m. on Friday, May 22.
“This project is designed to improve electric service reliability in the Lewes area,” said John Allen, Delmarva Power Vice President. “We will make every effort to keep the outage as brief as possible. We also apologize for any inconvenience while this work takes place and thank the public for their patience and understanding.
Delmarva Power chose the overnight hours for the service interruption in order to minimize the impact to residents of Lewes, Del.
Delmarva Power, a public utility owned by Pepco Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: POM), provides safe and reliable energy to nearly 500,000 electric delivery customers in Delaware and Maryland and over 121,000 natural gas delivery customers in northern Delaware.
