I have info that supports Principal Kohl will take Annetts position.
If not speak up.

Wow you found a way to bash the former president for everything wrong with America without even covering the topic of this thread

There was also a Republican majority in Congress for a large part of the time. I do, however, blame Democrats for not having the spine to stand up to the Republican gestapo for all those years! Hopefully, now that we have an intelligent, well-educated President instead of a guy who only got into Yale because of money and family connections (and still only got C's since he was too busy partying), the sad state of the US public schools can be addressed by people who see the real value of education in society.
By the way TechGuy, Congress is known as the legislative branch, the spelling is "enforces" not "inforces" and I think you meant "country's" not "countries". I guess they didn't teach spelling or grammar at that "crappy" school you attended.

Sorry, the Democrats have been in charge for the last 9 years in Delaware and we are talking about Delaware.

I only hope public education in the US can be salvaged! If not, we will continue to fall behind the rest of the world.

I graduated from Milford a few years ago, and in US history we learn that in a three tier democracy there is a seperation of power. The executive branch proposes laws; the congress passes laws; and the judicial inforces the laws. So when you look at this and the last 8 years I would say congress was more responsible for this countries situation, and let me see who was in the majority???? OH Democrats!! See I did learn something in what you call a crappy school, and I did go on to college.

Too many kids are passed through without knowing how to read or even find the US on a map. The parents just want the schools to act as babysitter till the kids are 18 and no longer their problem. There is no encouragement toward college or grad school unless its for sports. It's simply not expected. None of the cashiers can make change without looking at the register and I routinely come across misspellings in the newspaper. I agree with what you are saying about the nations education system, but at the same time I think it is unfair for you to call out the Milford School District when you never attended there yourself..  Being 3rd in the state is much better then being last!  Also, while I attended the highschool I had several teachers who tried to encourage me to get better grades so I could get into college and I wish I would have listened!( to busy worrying about girls and partying) Eventhough I did end up going to college, I would have had many more options if I took their advice..Also, look at all the positive things the sports teams did this year...  Milford may have its problems,(like every other school) but they are far from a crappie school district.

By the way, you can blame the Democrats for the "Dumbing down of America" and the "Welfare State" they have created to increase thier votor Base...
We are 3rd because this district teaches to the state test.

Placing third in a ranking of public schools is like taking the bronze in the special olympics.

I don't believe third in the state is "crappy" for a school, especially one with as high a poverty level as Milford's! The new personnel director will be announced after their approval by the board at their next meeting. By the way sunshine laws does apply to school districts, but you actually have to go in an fill out a request so its documented.

I do think that Milford has an opportunity to step up and truly help reform our crappy education system.  They should simply not fill the position.  Put the schools and the teachers on notice that they are directly accountable for the performance in their schools and classrooms...Be leaders Milford...Take a stand!!

I guess we need to make the Sushine Laws apply to the Education folks too.

No. But the paper wrote there were around 30 applicants that had to be filtered. As of last week I heard they were down to several. Not very forthcoming with info. I guess they want to keep it low key, so not to raise any debate.

Well we now should all know who the new superintendent is and how much money she makes according to the news paper. And also her education level . Good or bad Marvin Schelhouse defended her salary and lack of education saying that's how they got her cheap. Not in those words but that's how I read it. Then defended Bob Smith high salary.

Now I ask, Gary Annett retired also. Who is replacing him and for how much.

BoB will come back. First the city keeps Carmean on as a "consultant" and now the school district is going to keep BoB on as a "consultant" to oversee the new academy.  That's usually what the project managaer does from the firm hired to do the construction.

What will happen if the new governor and legislators combine all the states school districts in to 3 or 4 districts? The new guy they hire here could or would be out of a job.  I hope the 30 or so applicants see the writing on the wall.
