Why would someone want to volunteer there? I can see helping people but the hospital? take back the hospital from the insurance companies and shoot the lawyers and ban illegals. if your illeagal doesn't that say something in its self? I can't see turning another away if its a matter of life or death but after the one free bee what the heck are they still doing here? back to the FAIR..... i'd thing after the insurance cost and paying the police there might not be a whole lot left anyway. I'd like to see the books on where all the money goes and same with the little leaque. someones making a lot of money and it ain't the kids.........Milford sure ain;t what it used to be.... but it could be couldn't it?

Given a chance they would take your home from you if you owed them money. as a child i loved to go to the fair. It should be a fair for the kids and not the hospital. Does the hospital need money? just a sign in cost what 1500 to 1800.00 dollars. their charges has ruined many a familys fianaces. alot of the people that work there are good people and truely want to help people. my opinion? have a fair to help the people that have to go there for help. Its not like it used to be just like little leaque its all about the money now and not the kids. You want a fair? have it for the kids and show them how much we really love them. let it profit the milford youth! now thats fair!
The hospital fair is not to support the hospital directly, if I am correct, it is to benefit the Auxillary, aka, the volunteer's that help out there...

I more or less agree. Several years ago they were putting ads in national magazines, US New and World report amongst others. Has anyone tried recently to put an ad in one of them, forget it the prices are outrageous. If the can do that they don't need much help!

I remember it when it was behind the hospital where the parking lot and medical arts building is now with a teenage dance with a deejay on the nursing school tennis courts. Behind the hospital is now in front of the hospital.

Yep, that's correct. I will be calling to volunteer, also. I missed working last year, but I won't miss it this year! It's a wonderful event, one of many we have in mid and lower Delaware. These types of events have enhanced my life in Delaware for more years than I'd like to tell! I always re-connect with other native Delawareans from way-back-when.

| They certainly were good times. I think I've only been once since they moved it to the high school. I agree - I hope it goes back to the middle school and stays there. Does the VFW still have that old "train" around anywhere?? Does anyone know who to call to volunteer to help with the fair?

| I agree Braveheart, it hasn't been the same. I still remember waking up to the sound of a Burris Foods truck at about 6:30am as it parked. Soon thereafter you could smell barbequed chicken as it sizzled on the grills. Another fond memory was hearing someone hit the water in Scout Troop 186's dunking tank. Amazing how this all comes back when you stop to think about it. Those were good times...

| It should stay at the middle school. It's nice for people in town to be able walk to and from the fair. It was never quite the same since they moved it.

| With the recent renovations and activity at the Milford High School... is it fair (haha) to assume that the 2009 Hospital Fair will be moving back to it's original location at the Middle School field? What memories I have when it was just across the street... the sounds, the smells... that old VFW "train" that rode around. I can't tell you all how nice it would be to see it back around here again...
