I am an employee at the Dairy Queen, I would like to apologize for the rude customer service, it certainly could have been handled better.  I would like to point out that on the advertisement in the front window it says ASK FOR at the top.  Once again I am sorry for my coworkers behavior and I will let my boss know.

Ok, gonna chime in on this one, question for you camarolyn81, when/if you go to McDonalds and order a "value Meal", do/would you order by number?

The value menu concept has been around for years, not new to DQ, and it's ordered by the number or meal deal, while it would have been nice for the person taking the order to ask if you would like the meal deal, it would have been smarter for you to order it by such.

And again, confirmation as to why my job is secure...

Milfordian -

Hey I get it - you have a bad day here and there....fine, but like it or not it IS human nature to judge you on your actions.  Actions speak louder than words.  HEY JUST MY OPINION - you're welcome to your and I'm welcome to mine.  I didn't say I'd never go there again, just said I'd think twice about it.  We don't go out very much as it can be very expensive for a large family to eat out so when I do I EXPECT great service as should anyone at anytime!  It's called customer service!

Just my opinion, but if you have been going to Dairy Queen for this long with no complaints why, after one problem, would you come here and trash talk them? It's very possible the employees were have a bad day. If you have had no complaints thus far, this is obviously not a pattern.

Has that ever happened to you, you're having a bad day and you deal with something in probably not the best of ways? How would you feel if you were judged on this day alone, instead of all the other days of being yourself?

Like I said, just my opinion.

Waterman - you are sooo right - Sonic has GREAT ice cream - just stopped there last night, and it's cheaper only $1 for a sundae.  I think DQ is going to have a run for the money with Sonic in town - especially if they continue this kind of behavior.  Not that I'm a junk food junky just having a busy week.  BTW they (Sonic) are having .99 kids meals all day today!  I love DQ, been going there since I was a kid (trust me that's been awhile), but this incident just left a sour taste in my mouth.  Not quite the sweetness I bargained for.  (figured other people should know about it to)

Yes, Sonic DOES have good ice cream and you don't even have to get out of your car.  That's a sweet deal right there.  I've loved DQ ever since I was a kid but to me that's just bad customer service.  If that type of behavior continues, Waterman's right... they won't have too many more customers to be rude to.   Oh, and chocolate ice cream's my favorite... :D

Try the Sonic they have good ice cream also. As for rude employees stop going there and see how nice they get when faced with lay offs.

I'm posting today to let all loyal Milford DQ patrons know that if you are ordering from the "Sweet Deals" menu make sure YOU TELL THE CASHIER THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT.  If you don't you'll be charged full price for your order.  When treating my husband, myself, our 4 children and mother in law on a georgeous afternoon yesterday, we discovered we had been overcharged by five dollars.  Which mind you does not seem like it's a lot, but keep in my mind, my ice cream tab was already at $30, so I inspected the receipt and saw what had happened.  I patiently waited in line and asked the cashier if there was a way that she could correct the mistake.  I was told (quote end quote) "We don't have to give you those prices unless you ASK for the Sweet Deals".  I said ok, that's my misunderstanding - you have this advertised right here by your cashiers window....I didn't realize that I had to ask for the deal, why was it advertised if I had to ask for it?  I again asked if there was someway to correct the problem, because I had ordered those items specifically because they were on that menu.  She went to the back and got who I guess was the manager (IDK) she seemed awful young and how rude she was.  She said to me (quote end quote) "We do not have to honor this sale, it's only a promotion not all DQ's are participating."  My response to this was - you're advertising it right here in your window so you MUST be participating in it!  Why advertise it if you're not going to honor it.  In the end, I did receive a $3.00 refund - at that point I just didn't want to argue the point anymore.  It didn't seem to be sinking in.  What happened to the customer is always right attitude?  In today's economy, $5 or $3 doesn't seem like a whole lot of money, but it's my money and if you're going to advertise a sale you sure as heck better honor it.  That's what we in the business world call "false advertising".

Soooo - my point in telling everyone this, is make sure you check your receipts OH AND BTW IF YOU WANT THE SWEET DEAL AT DAIRY QUEEN MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR IT OR YOU'LL BE OVERCHARGED!
