just look at those who did not pay their share of taxes,

look at the over run of city hall to the tune of about a million dollars.

just look at electric. milford overpaid for this service and still gets to pas out the cookies.

look at the side deals at the council meetings

If this were the case I would think that this would be reported by the local media?

It almost sounds like you feel there is some sort of backroom deal going on between the city council members and the developers? Are you implying that there are council members or x-council members who are corrupt and in "Ca-Hoots" with the developers?  If this is what you are implying, I would like to know exactly who they are and exactly who you are.  It would also be nice for you to share with us how you know this information to be true? Then we could proceed accordingly.

It is very easy to make accusations like these hiding behind a computer...  If you feel so strongly about this issue, I would think that you would enlighten the public and try to make some change...

So are you implying that the good ol boys recieved some sort of compensation for allowing this to happen?

I would think one way to get the cost of housing prices under control would be to increase the supply of houses on the market, thus bringing the demand down and lowering the price of each home?  This is not good for the outsiders who tried to buy homes and flip them to make a quick buck.  It is good for families just starting and attracts new, younger families that will pay taxes for several years to come vs. the retiree;s who will pay for another 10 yrs and complain every time they have .10 cent increase in there utility bills.

You old timers and anti-growth advocates must have forgotten what it was like to try and get out on your own and buy a house when you were first starting out...  It is bad enough that there are very few jobs in Milford to support the cost of the average home here.  It is such a shame that the education system in Milford produces so many college graduates, only to see them have to relocate because there are no jobs to support there degrees and very little affordable housing.

I understand that you do not want to pay any new taxes and you don;t want the cost of your utilities to go up.  I also understand there are several people who were not raised here and have moved to Milford to retire and do not want it to change!!!  Well I'm sorry to tell you this but Milford is growing and will continue to do so, as long as the taxes in Delaware remain where they are.

I think the people who don't want new businesses here, don't want affordable housing and are anti growth are extremely selfish.  For you transplants, Milford(our town) is not a club that you join and then exclude everyone else out of !!! Go back to Jersey and Newyork!!!!

I am interested in hearing who the current "good ol boys are" and how I can become one of them?...lol   It sounds to me like those guys are the guys you want to know in this town!!  By the way, regardless of how close your buddy came to winning the election; Close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades...  I would think that being that close to winning the election and then being let down in the end would sting even more then getting blown out of the water!!!

Apology accepted, I assume you haven't followed newszaps forums very much. I am Bluesman is me the guy who was banned because I wouldn't cow down to some forum members who lied about me and my family and accused my wife of some pretty vile things. One of which put her employment as a teacher in jeopardy.

Go back and read posts made by me under the Bluesman name and you will see I am a believer in a level playing field for everyone not just a select few.

I have had residents ask me to consider running for a position in Milford, but living in an unannexed portion of Milford I can't. This despite the fact  I and and every other unannexed resident pays and supports Milford's payroll who has Milford electric for a supplier. Taxation without representation is what it was called when I went to school.

Hey Gwar,

I've been posting and writing letters to the editor both in the Milford Beacon and Milford Chronicle for 3 years....not what I would call "very recently joined our ranks". If you knew 1/2 of what you post as "fact" which in reality is just your b/s you might have a clue, about who I have been outspoken about.

The list  includes Key Properties Group (the developer you referred to but were afraid to post the name), the new mayor, and a whole host of others who have held positions in Milford government. I also asked several councilman to look into the the ethics violation of Clifford Crouch resigning a city board  and going to work for Key Properties.  That issue was brought up by Tim Willard at the recent court hearing about Hearthstone's signs.

I also have been very outspoken about Hearthstone II, and the plans to build it until issues are resolved with Heartstone I.

I call it as I see it I don't care if the person is a lifetime resident or a "transpant."
I haven't attacked anyone, just because I question someones not paying their taxes on time.  I've also followed all your posts and you are no different than the old guard you complain about the rules and laws should only be applied to those you feel they should not EVERYONE.

By the way Gwar I DO live in Milford.  Do you?

Citizens of Milford if we follow the lead of Bill he may have us lite our torches get our pitchforks since one of the re-elected
city councilman still owes BACK TAXES FOR 2008. HOW COME BILL NEGLECTED TO POINT OUT THAT DOUG MORROW STILL OWES 60 CENT IN BACK TAXES AND 5 CENTS IN PENALTY. Remember it not the amount that owed, right Bill.

Because Bill Christy like Jerseylover both of whom have only very recently joined our ranks are here only to attack the newcomers that dared to take on the good old boys.

By the way Bill do you or Jerseylover live in Milford????????

I leave it up to the press to do the snooping and other people then I just read it and make a decision myself.

Could someone also find out if a developer has to be paid up on all their back taxes for all of  his or her properties before asking for an extension on an approval for a development. Besides these are economically hard times; is the UD grad suggesting that only the rich be financially qualified to run for public office.

Besides the question is moot Steve paid his taxes BEFORE he filed for office; the same cannot be said for our current Secretary of Treasury or former Senator Tom Dashule who had to withdraw
his nomination from the Obama administration. A slick try to begin a smear campaign before he take his oath of office but Steve did nothing wrong.

Seriously is it true that Steve Johnson had not paid his taxes until right before the election? Does the town have a rule that would prohibit him (or anyone) from running for election if they owed the town money for anything? They really should consider such a requirement and I don't see how it is different than owning them taxes for any reason. It is my understanding that you cannot apply for a land application of sort if you owe any type of fees. Can someone elaborate on this subject?

Hey jerseylover your going to love this one; at least steve paid his taxes. At Monday's council meeting it was discovered that over 30 property owner who had their land annexed into the milford city limits have not paid taxes for years. They had a "sweetheart" deal with then mayor Rogers and city manager Carmean. Maybe jerseylover should go to a meeting and he can write bad things about all the people that still haven't paid their
taxes or is he only interested in bad mouthing people he is paid to do.

Congrats to Steve Johnson and Joe Palermo for running a fine issues oriented campaign. Its amazing that Steve was able to beat the mightly IRV AMBROSE who had the backing of ex=mayor Ronnie Rogers who must of spent a lot of somebody's money to pay for all those ads, then the overwhelming endorsement from retired city manager Carmean. But it wasn't enough, not even the mean spirited thrashing by jerseyhunter was enough.

Joe Palermo was a victim of a paid smear campaign by one of the local developers hired lackeys; and yet he only lost by 13 votes
against a 20 year beloved veteran. And to top it off Joe was a recent transplant from that dreadful New York. How ironic the local boys trash mouth a newcomer and he almost beats one of their own by staying on the issues.

The tide has turned and the good old boys are being swept out to sea...

Milford boy, Milfords pumping station isn't the sweetest, I know what you are saying, it's a hard call for council, Sea Watch  brings in Millions to our city, I've smelled it also but Doug  just works there like many others, he's not one of the big dogs like people are saying. have a good one

dear jerseyhunter,  I would never say that companies that bring jobs to milford are special interests.  Jobs are in the interest of the people of milford as long as they do not pollute our environment or degrade our quality of life....  If you lived in Milford near Seawatch you would understand part of that.

I am not "mad" at anyone but I don't think you know the candidates you called "ding bats" very well.

lets let the people decide today for Milford's future - not it's past.   for candidates that will look you in the eye AND TELL YOU THE TRUTH....    enjoy!!

Finally it is your turn to vote.  By now you know that the Milford Machine has decided that you MUST vote for CARMEAN AND ROGERS,  I mean, ADKINS, AMBROSE AND MORROW.  YOU WILL OBEY THE MACHINE!!!!  Former Mayor Rogers wants you to vote for them - because they have something that he knows a lot about INTEGRITY....

Good luck to the new kids on the block, JOHNSON, OECHSLER, AND PALERMO.  I am hoping that voters will see that Milford has to move forward, with a council that will work for the citizens of the city - not for themselves and their special interests.
