Living next door in a camper where? Next to that big house at 47 Commerce or somewhere else? Please advise! I'm surprised one of the good old boys around here hasn't had a "conversation" with him already.

| You know what, all of your kids are always in danger at all times from sexual predators and you should be aware of that. There will always be the element of danger in your neighborhoods and in your next door neighbors house because you have no idea what goes on behind those closed doors. Usually the ones that are busted in this sort of crime are the guys that everyone always trusted, the people that you would say "he could never do something like that". Well, you know what, they do things like that, sick as it is. Keep your kids close, folks, and teach them that they should never be alone with anyone because some people just cant be trusted anymore.

yes, Forever, I certainly do see your side and yes, if I had a child I guess I would definitely want to err on the side of caution when it comes to this kind of criminal. It really is a no win situation for the police here.
Now the other part of the story that has surfaced..the woman that was paid for pictures and then for sex with this cop - this is really strange. I am wondering why she wasn't arrested for prostitution! And now she is the source of coroborrating evidence. Weird!

| What you say makes sense. However, suppose you lived next door or down the street from this guy and you had a young daughter. Wouldn't you want to know that you had a "suspected" child predator living near you? If the police didn't publish this then they would be criticized for that too. Now win situation.

Just to be clear, I am not defending this a**hole, or anyone who is actually guilty of such a crime. My question is of a broader scope...i.e., what if it turns out someone "didn't do it". Say for instance your brother, or father, or uncle was wrongly arrested and found innocent...the cops got the wrong guy. It happens. What then? Your loved one has already been smeared all over the media, labeled a murderer, or sex offender, whatever.....then they do a DNA test, or catch the real perp...do they ever go back and publish another picture declaring them "Innocent?" No. At least I've never seen one. It just seems to me like publishing someones picture before they have a trial is somehow declaring them guilty and branding them before justice has been served. Looking at it purely from a civil liberties perspective, in light of the fact that in the U.S. we are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, something seems wrong about this. Just my opinion.

| If it's ok to publish the person's name, why is it improper to post their picture? Arrests are considered public information. It's not just Delaware or Smyrna, look in the national news sometime, pictures of people being arrested all the time. Not all are eventually convicted. They probably even do it in the civilized state of New Jersey!

| Because, Grey, in Delaware- particularly in Smear-ya, "you wouldn't have been arrested unless you were guilty". Doesn't matter what the outcome of the trial is.

This Wyoming, DE police officer is reportedly a resident of Smyrna. I am assuming they must have some pretty damning evidence against him, and if he is guilty, he is one effed up dude.
My question is...why is it legal to post someone's picture before they have a trial? Just wondering.
