| My guess is that the T O S doesn't want to pay for the Visa merchant fees.

I have a checking account, actually we have several. I liked using my WT Visa because it earns points, pure and simple. Not a complaint as much as a comment. Not everyone her is mean spirited or complaining.

| If you're walking into TOS to pay anyway, why not just write a check and drop it in the box out front?

The point here is that the TOS apparently makes is very difficult to do just that.
The Town offers many options to pay your bill. Just go to Town Hall to get the correct information rather than reading comments in this forum from those who know very little about the subject.

Even if it is a check card if it has the Visa Logo the town will not accept it.

I paid mine online yesterday and the 3rd party administrator charges $1.50
You can also review your bill on there too. It's much easier to read online rather than the paperbill we get.

| When I went to pay the town bill yesterday I was told they can't even accept a debit card if it has the visa logo on it, even if I use a PIN number.

I am almost certain that Mr. Mullen addressed this question when he was still on council. The Town will accept a check card from your bank even if it says Visa on it.
The payment are paid on line through a third party site so there is a fee..but your check card should be fine. Call Town hall and ask about this..

I've been told that the cause is VISA's rules. The Town would accept VISA if it could. Call the Town office to get clarification.
