Ah, the whole dang education thing is this state is so twisted. We have one of the highest paid college presidents in the country at Uof D and 75% of the students come from out of stste. We have the Del-Tech guy getting paid like he was running a major corporation and we have a system of 19 K-12 school districts with 429 administrators [not teachers] who make over 100,000 a year. We've even got one district with an 'assistant to the assistant to the superintendent' making darn near a hundred grand. And worse, we pay a bunch of people down at the General Assembly to watch over us and not let stupid stuff like this happen. Can we get a refund?

This is the group that wants a State Wide property tax to fund the 3 campus locations like the Tech schools get.

And watch how well protected this organization and it's people are when the budget cuts come through. Doesn't it make you feel silly to vote these people in time after time?

That's because they don't put all of the job openings out for the general public to see.   That is unacceptable.

Delaware taxpayers provide 45% of this school's operating budget, too.    Clearly, we have contributed far too generously.

There are only 2 states that pay more than this bastard makes.  Florida and Kentucky.  Both of them run statewide systems with more than 50,000 students.

Oh yeah I forgot, he was Speaker of the House and a Democrat in Delaware.  This guy needs to be investigated and his contract thrown out the window.  He needs to be ordered to repay his expense account, take a 50% salary cut and get rid of his perks.

We can't afford this waste in Delaware.

Do you think this is the only state that pays the salaries they do for school supervisors?  Not saying it is right, but maybe that is what the salary is for that particular position. I think to get angry over someone's salary is time not well spent. I don't begrudge anyone for making what they do. If you were in his position, would you have told Del Tech don't pay me this much? I do understand with the state of the economy the way it is, it is only natural to start questioning state salaries, but I don't recall a thread 6 months ago about his salary.  I would only say I wish I decided to become president of Del Tech.

Having a Superintendent of a school district make more than the head of DelDOT doesn't make much sense to me when you consider the scope of the job, people in the organization and budget. A district superintendent has a responsible job, no question, but the comparisons do seem odd.

Mr easy, I see you keep late hours.  If you can't get some kind of point out of that.  I found a couple good questions from the list.  I will just put one out, was does one person get two pay checks from the state with both being over the 100,000.  Now if i was paying a person over the 100,000 I would want them to be able to give me a 100%, but this person has to put out 200%, I guess they can.  Also sure have a lot of person's working for the Deparment of education making big bucks, are they teaching?

By the way these were just questions.  I am sure there is good reason for these.
