So how many do they consider a party ? I thought the play area was free too all , how are they going to tell people they can't bring food in and meet family and friends there unless they pay ?
Actually I believe the charge only has to do with the sports fields there -- for league play and tournaments for groups that are not part of a county-sponsored program.

It is bad here. I was going to go to a town meeting over some problems I had with Mr. Hugg and he straight up told me they wouldn't listen to meso it would be a waste of time.

What a cop out! ADMIT IT!!! You people simply do not have any guts!!! You deserve everything that you ""DON'T"" get!!!

Ah, Wallyguy, it's pretty obvious that there are, how many people in Smyrna, 5000, and they are all a bunch of morons to sit around and complain and not let the few who run the town walk all over them. I cannot understand what is happening here and all over this country. Don't let those arrogant sob's who are running the town get the better of you, you have to keep going at it and don't back down because they are very wrong when they do not let the tax paying citizens have their say and there has to be something illegal about that 3 minute egg timer that they use. Maybe they should have used it for the road work.................Laws and rules can be changed if there are enough citizens to object, don't give up so easily, where would we be if everybody did that...........Get it done!!!!!!!!! And taking over the responsibilty for Belmont Hall would be a huge mistake.

| Are you sure the kids are allowed to play at the school ball fields?

Wally Guy,
Where in the Hell have you been: QUOTE That is the only free, easily accessible activity for the town kids and now they will be looking for other ways to occupy their time, like a little vandalism, theft, roaming the streets in gangs, etc.
They have the Town park with a Skate park that is FREE but no they gotta go out their and tear it up. What are they gonna tear up at the Lake Piss in the water. And yes probably paint the buildings and and the docks. What ever happen to kids getting a bunch of kids together and going to the ball diamond at the two of the schools and a the park and playing kickball or baseball. What's wrong with the old bike rides. The town put in a nice walk way behind SMS & SHS but no the dam kids had to paint it up to. The only bad thing about the trail is if you are walking their are no benches to rest on, but again if you put them back their they will be sex benches or torn up. I must say I walk back their often and Town employees are always back their but never no police patrol!!

| So everyone needs to take some personal responsibility. Keep an eye on little kids, make sure kids know how to swim when they're old enough. There's no waves at Lake Como that will knock anyone down. Geez, for generations people swam wherever without lifeguards. Besides, in a few weeks the bacteria count will be so high that it will be closed anyway.

Apparently they, too, will not be available. And I was so looking forward to an outing canoeing on the lake. Could the town possibly sell those pink elephants, oops I mean canoes, and make those funds available for lifeguard salaries? Could White, Thornton and Evans possibly pull together with the rest of the council and do something about this, you know, put their childish behavior aside and think of the kids welfare?
I gotta tell ya, I am not a resident of the Town of Smyrna but I read all of this crap that the citizens write on here and it really annoys me that you people joke about Smugg's hybrid and Mullin's fleet but you don't do NOTHING about them. That town ought to be glad that I am not eligible to do anything about them because I sure would make it a point to go to those town meetings and give them my two cents instead of writing about it on here where you could complain until doomsday and nothing will ever come of it. Get up off your butts and go to the meetings and STAND UP AND BE HEARD AND TAKE A BUNCH OF YOUR NEIGHBORS WITH YOU.

| I understand that if you are having trouble swimming at Woodland Beach just whistle for some dolphins and they will push you to shore.

Send your donations to town hall marked "lifeguard's pay". When the town receives enough money to pay for lifeguards, then they can open the lake staffed with life guards. This would allow the people that use the facility to pay for it instead of a tax increase.

| I remember taking our kids and well as the whole neighbor of kids to the lake. When you had to go to the Smyrna Police when they were by the Library. You had to fill out a ID card then you had to wear tag with a number on it to identify you. I hope they will do that in case someone should drown. But I see nothing wrong with swim at own risk.Look down to the shore how often are the lifeguards paying attention unless it is a girl in a swimsuit.Look at Woodland Beach they have never a a lifeguard on site or no signs swim at own risk common sense.I been going to the Smyrna Swim Club for over Fifteen years now. The life guards their are a joke wasted moneyfor paying them.
