Gordo, NH is blessed with news outlets who see to it that the public is kept informed about matters that concern the public. One such matter they advised was that the contract between Ryan and the town up there was not set for a specified period of time. The town could not dismiss him without cause, but what would bind him to the town to the extent that 'lawyering up' was the only way out of it?
Such arrangements I've heard of elsewhere merely required that one provide adequate notice of their intention to vacate the position. I'm not saying that this was necesarily the case with Ryan, but since you claim to be in the know, I thought you might like to explain.

How do you know what Ryans contract said?
Ryan didn't raise your tax bill. It was the town council who illegally fired him who did that.
I'm pissed at them,not Ryan.

| Ryan wasn't bound to the contract for any specific period of time. Why wouldn't sufficient notice have been adequate to leave the position?

| LOL!! As if somebody cares. Maybe you will care when you receive your next town property tax billing in a few weeks - the rate is increasing from 60 cents to 90 cents. Thank your hero, Mr. Ryan - somebody has to make the loan payments.

OK Hear is the real scoop on Ryan leaving NH
He did hire a lawyer because he wanted out of his contract. They let him out of his contract - so that is that - PERIOD. No lawsuit and he tells me he is very happy to be back in Delaware.
We're glad to see you back Ryan. You were a breath of fresh air today. Sure wish you would come back to Cheswold. We need you badly

How is it that Mr. Ryan was going to make Cheswold so rich, in ways that nobody else could?

Good call Barney. In fact it appears that the honeymoon ended even sooner than expected.

| I noticed all you Cheswoldians greeting Ryan at the car show. Do you think that is going to make him forgive the $300,000. Forget it, that smile on his face was one of a winner. Thanks SDeney, Plummer and Ziggy for the bill. I hope you guys end up paying it.

To confuse the reader heh heh heh
Now you don't think Helen would compare Ryan to a weasel would you ?
Now that he is not a government ( public official ) that could cause her harm.
Don't you like reading the funnies with your morning meal ?
Could you bring me back 2 over easy , bacon crisp , home fries , rye toast, strawberry jam and butter and cup of wawa.
I'm catching up on my reading

I bet ya he will claim Weasle , oh I mean Whistle Blower !
I wonder did he has access to the town's books ?
I remember the words he said about Elliott's firring
"You know what I think on the subject "
Basically he was saying fire him , strange how it came out he had nothing to do with it, he was on vacation when he didn't leave until after the meeting .

| Absolutely incredible! Evidently another town, with a town administrator with no job description for the position from which one might reasonably be able at interview to learn that this was not the position they sought. It would appear on the surface that some people elected to attend to the business of the community were not about to hand that over to some unknown!

It was just last month that ousted Cheswold Town Manager Edward J. Ryan Jr. won his legal battle with the town, which is trying to figure out how to come up with the $300,000 it agreed to pay in return for Ryan dropping his lawsuit.
But Ryan hasn't been resting on his laurels. He's been in Milton, N.H., where he took a job Jan. 3 as administrator for the town of 4,000 people.
But it didn't take long for him to ruffle the wrong feathers -- the three town selectmen who serve as Milton's governing body.
According to a source within Milton's town government, Ryan thought his position gave him more power than it actually had.
The town administrator takes his marching orders from the selectmen, and Ryan apparently overstepped his bounds -- and on Thursday he submitted his resignation.
But before doing so, Ryan "lawyered up," the official said. "We expect a lawsuit."
What a surprise.
