White Knight -- It really doesn't matter that the cheswold fire company has not won its case in court. Your question as to why cheswold has never won a lawsuit is best answered in this manner: Historical performance should not be used as guidance for future results. Each case is unique, and the Ryan v town case is much different. The town will prevail in that case, hands down, thus the Ryan team offer to the town for a settlement.
Some people (non-residents of cheswold) are wishing that there was pari-mutuel betting permitted on the Ryan case. The town residents have already placed their bets. Some of those bets were taken under mis-management by the 2005 town council.

You, Luna toons and others should read today's article regarding the Cheswold Fire Company v Dover. Attorney Rodriguez also told Cheswold Fire Company they did not have a case. They, like the Cheswold Town Council did not listen to him and lost their case. Now their attorney wants to appeal the case. All that will happen in the end is the Fire Company paying a big fee to Atty Schwartz and end up with nothing except a big bill. Why doesn't Cheswold ever learn?
Cheswold has NEVER won a lawsuit against it. WHY???????????

I don't believe you have your facts right but let the lawyers fight this one out. We all know the Council knows it made a mistake, in many ways, by firing Mr. Ryan. Now they also know it is going to cost them big bucks.

| White Knight -- You do seem to have access to info that many of us are not privy to, so I would like to ask you this: Mr. Ryan apparently having withdrawn his "whistle-Blower" complaint against cheswold and evidently electing to instead file a complaint in state court for "Breach of Contract" or something along those lines, is there any expected time table for a court date?

They have since been removed but there have been threatening posts in the past. I am not going to waste my time looking for specific examples. WK - I'll give you some advise. Those people are just trying to stir the pot. They seem incapable of discussing a terrible situation the Town of Cheswold is in regarding the Ryan v Cheswold case andjust want to blabber on about nothing.
We have seen Cheswoldians stick their heads in the stand about many things lately but sooner or later they are going to have to facr the facts. Mr. Ryan and other issues are not going to go away and the longer the town takes to address these problems the more it is going to cost the town.
