How long does it take for people to understand this?   An elected council person appointed by council to be mayor so that he gets no vote on town business, and a boob costumed as a cop - and provided a gun.   Just what do you people expect in your town from this dynamic duo??

From what I heard last night at the meeting the mayor was making a joke of the incident .

Is this the way we want our town to be?

If the police department refuses to arrest a person for trespassing and stealing what else are they refusing to do ?

In my opinion the Officer is another nut with a gun , but I'm biased .

He must have pasted some kind of test to be able to have a gun and bullets too!

This is a he said she said but it came from a reliable source : a relative of  a employee at town hall

In town hall yesterday the guy who owns the business out welcomed his arrested even put his hands together for the officer.

The story went as followed

Mr. Towery went to report stolen property that was given to him and Officer Fox told him he was busy come back in a hour ( time was 1:20 )

 Mr. Towery left

Officer Fox went to person home ( suspected person )  leaving office around 1:30 when he wasn't given name or Address cause Mr. Towery didn't have it . nor did he give a full report to officer Fox .

This tell me the Officer is and was aware of this persons activities

A few minutes before going to suspect home the officer was on Commerce street talking with persons who gave the property  to Mr. Towery .

Long time residents of the town , as well as Mr. Towery being a fixture in this area for well over 30 years.

Officer return back to town hall before 2:10 pm was livid that he was wrong .

2:23 Mr. Towery arrived and was speaking with the mayor in a calm  voice as well as the other employees

It was the officer who was being a ass and trying to show his might telling Mr.Towery he was going to shut up and do as he said and the officer's voice escalated to a I'm lion  hear me roar voice . Mr. Towery finally had enough of the officer's yelling and hollering and he got back in to Officers Fox's face and this is when the Officer threaten to arrest Mr. Towery and Mr. Towery obliged him by giving his arms willingly .

The officer him self made derogatory comments about Mr. Towery not only to the guy who stoled  the propery but to Town hall employees and their relatives that Mr. Towery is unaware of until today.

Ahhh, I see that things have devolved even further.  Soon I will not find it safe to run through town.  But I can always find a cop in Deliciousos eating free chicken extorted from the poor owner. Sometimes picking up a free bag of fruit from the stand that suddenly popped up.  Looks like the pickings are good. Well at least the sandbagging has slowed down a bit.

The town mayor and council and the police - from the chief to the newest person believe that the primary purpose of the town police --- secondary to none --- is to do radar to ticket speeders.

Come on, people - this is Cheswold, DE ---- what would one expect?  A real cop?   Call the state police if you want a real cop.   The guy in a police uniform in Cheswold is just somebody atending a costume parade - and being well paid for it to.   Just like the person referred too as the mayor.

You think the cop would pick up this guy while in Blanton Moble Home park he leaves there every morning between 6:15 and 6:30 to go to work in Smyrna, type in Dean Smith

Helen what do you expect?

Chief Condon on vacation , Susan gone . Elliott fired and hired and then had to resign to save face

Alexander not through camp yet and Robin checking on doors and young girls who live alone while trying to get a case against the town .

Simms fired for wrecking the car in hot pro suit of a motor cycle ( hey maybe the yellow motor cycle guy was the one he was chasing and didn't catch )

The town is left a confused man who just got out of the academy and doesn't know right from wrong .

I wonder if he comes up on a murder scene and sees the thief  there   with victim's wallet in his hand will let him go cause the economy is bad.

I know it's not Officer Darling on duty so it has to be FOXX

Sad state when a officer apologises for the actions of the person who is in the wrong and want to arrest the person who the the wrong was done to gets threats of being arrested .

It look like the officer was mad that he had to do his job.

I guess cause the economy is bad it's ok to take other people's stuff in Cheswold cause the police officer will apologise for the thief actions.

Most of the elders of the town know this man and it seems the police only talk to him .

It wasn't the the value of the stuff , it was the principle.

If the police in any town act as if they are beyond arresting a trespasser or some who takes property that does not belong to them, then they do not need the job .

This is a Town for Dugley Do Right

Cheswold watch your stuff

there seems to be a man in his late 30s early 40 who lives in Blanton trailer park who owns a yellow Harley taking thing that do not belong to him , he will even trespass on property to get it . I've been told the police have talked to him and he has been reported several times and nothing is being done.

Today he did it again trespassing and removing property that was given to someone else .

A police complaint made and we were told to come back in a hour. The  said officer was busy .

You were better with the one officer / Chief and the state police you should have offered him more money. Trying to make a one horse town into a metropolis wih a police force that was dumber then the horse , dirtier then the dirt roads you started out with and then trying to clean it up with a highly paid by Cheswold's income Chief of Police who only wishes to do paper work . I hope the money your town gets will not pay for another disappointment.

Boy, it sure was nice getting rid of you. Why don't you  Just go try and sell some fruit.  Oh, I forgot, you were not successful with that either.

The town really needs to get its police in order.   With the new poker parlour coming, the new house of ill repute and any similar activities tending to attract a large number of people, there will be a certain potential for increased criminal activity.   Crooks know that guys going to those places carry a good bit of cash .... opportunities await them.

The Town of Cheswold could have a respectable police department if they had the right people in place. First you would only need 2-3 officers with a town of that size. Second and the most important you need a chief that is willing to be a working chief and I do not mean an administrative chief. The town needs a chief that is willing to go out and work the beat like the other officers. It would be a shame to get rid of a police department an later down the road in the future which you had one. Just my opinion.

Special opp --- maybe with a busy airport, train & bus station, hotel/conference center and the new walmart store, the town will need a much larger police presence.  An elected sheriff and his posse should be the right way to approach this.

Helen, on the new patch I notice a tree, the moon, and a railroad locomotive on the tracks.   As soon as the new rail passenger station and hotel/conference center is built at cheswold, it may again be a boom town.   Add to that a super walmart store, and you will have nearly everything that most people ever hope for!

You Cheswoldians have been advised to dump your traffic revenue squad for years. Since we are all getting sandbagged from the federal and state governments, no need to add to our woes.  Save yourselves some tax money because you will need it in the comming months and years.
