There are very few things in life that are free. Spell check happens to be one of the few. Hysterical, is probably about a 4th grade spelling word. The more you post the more ignorant you appear.

| The only way this person is going to be caught and fired is when his "boss" sees him snortin' it and that's not going to happen because the "boss" is in a fog and he has been for months now. All of the other employees that know about it can't say a word BECAUSE the "boss" knows the employee tested positive and he has the ability to ruin the careers of all the hard working, sober folks.

I heard that the positive drug test was for cocaine! Why doesn't anyone care about that?!?!?!
I would think that everyone would care that a city employee was boppin around town in a city vehicle and could be under the influence of COCAINE!!!!!
Geez, what's a person got to do to get fired from the City of LaBelle????????

Who cares when you have family and friends in the right place. Also why would you need a Diploma to work for the Co..It's not like you are cutting grass for the White House.
That's odd the county has been under a hiring freeze for sometime now with all the budget cutbacks an all. Wonder how this person got a job that is not being filled?
Makes you stop and wonder .

High school Diploma?!?!?!
The urine test is more important than any-other test given to an employee!
I know there are workers in the City that tested positive but were not dealt with!

I wonder if there are urine tests for public office........
Some people work in their jobs even tho they tested positive and these jobs are with the city and / or county! How is that possible you ask???? Well its because the people in administration don't want to "rock the boat" thats how.
I think there should be a urine test county wide n dump the druggies and get some non-drug using people a chance at those great jobs with benifits!

| The VA tests everytime you have an Dr's appointment, they won't cut out your funding but they will cut off medical benefits such as controlled substance prescriptions. They will offer you treatment, it's up to you whether you accept it or not. But in order to get controlled substance prescriptions re-instated you have to test clean and then your definately tested on a regular basis after that for illegal substances. Not that I know from a personal standpoint but I have heard from the VA and some unfortunate people while sitting in the waiting room talking about it.

yeah, its not illegal but its still screened for
I stand by my statement:
If you collect one red cent from Government funding, you should be held to the same standard as the one who work for the money!
Now, if you want to pad a bit more into your presidents budget that is SOOOO full of ear marks include a drug rehab program. However, you should also add the rider to the plan, that states, until you test clean for 6 months you get no coin. And, then you still get monthly mandatory tests for 3 years. To be followed by random.
You, can not enable drug abuse. Its simply not the way to get them clean and productive in society. The ones that really want to clean up will. The rest, well, if they resort to your "other" option for how they will fund their illegal activies, we build more jails. I refuse to cave in to the arguement if you dont give them the money they will just steal it. That's crap, and you know it. You are making them into terrorists. Give them what they want or ELSE! No, thanks.

Yep, that's part of a medical drug screen, but alcohol isn't illegal. Drug test, like those for employment and the like, screen for illegal substances.
The point is, again, that treatment needs to be included for recipients as well.

Most welfare recepients tend to go to the emergency room for treatments which is paid by their states insurance provider, who is allowed to view such information.
I know this to be fact in Delaware because I suffered a minor stroke in January and went to the emergency room and was asked for a urine sample. I was admitted and when i was released and got all my records to take to my cardiologist there was a complete drug screen test results along with all my MRI and CTScan results. I'm not a welfare recepient by the way.
Only one state, Michigan, uses drug testing for welfare recipients. Thank goodness, because it’s pretty stupid and here’s why:
The vast majority of welfare recipients don’t use illegal drugs, and my tax dollars would be spent testing them as well. So you catch a couple of scofflaws and save a little, but how much more does it cost to test folks that aren’t using anything.
The test only checks for illegal substances, but will let the raging alcoholics continue to collect welfare.
Once you drop the drug users from welfare, and don’t provide them with any drug counseling, now you’ve created a menace to society. Since the druggie no longer has his state government footing the bill, he/she will turn to the easy money way with theft and burglary. Why not save the money and provide help?
Just my two cents...

If it were up to me they would make mandatory test for any and all government funds, and then subject to random testing. See, you do not have to test them all the time, just the random threat would keep some of them clean. As well, drug tests are getting pretty cheap now you can even buy them over the counter at the pharmacy to test your kids.
So, if you got
medicaid
welfare
unemployment
or any other entitlement funding
you are officially employed by the government.
Therefore you are subject to the same random testing all other government employee's are subjected to.
