Muslim Group Shuts Down Conservative Conference

Thursday, May 28, 2009 10:26 PM

http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/geert_wilders/2009/05/28/219305.html

The manager of a prominent Nashville hotel cancelled a contract with a conservative foundation to hold a conference this weekend on radical Islam, apparently after learning that the group would feature a keynote address by controversial Dutch parliamentarian and filmmaker, Geert Wilders.

Muslim groups succeeded in preventing Wilders from screening “Fitna,” his 15-minute movie on radical Islam, in the House of Lords this February, on claims it was insulting to Muslims, and dogged him during a recent
U.S. tour as well.

Thomas A. Negri, managing director of Loew’s Vanderbilt Hotel and Office complex in
Nashville, told Newsmax on Wednesday that he had taken the extraordinary step of cancelling the conference at the last minute “for the health, safety and well-being of our guests and employees.”

Negri refused to say why he felt the conference would adversely affect the “health, safety and well-being” of the hotel’s guests and employees, except to refer to the website of the New English Review, the group organizing the conference.

The website features articles that warn about radical Islam written by activists, journalists and scholars, including former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy, and former Muslim scholar, Ibn Warraq.

One article, written by a retired
U.S. army intelligence officer, Jerome Gordon, warns of the growing problems caused by the recent influence of several thousand Somali Muslim refugees who have come to work for a nearby Tysons Food plant to replace illegal Hispanic meat packers.

Negri appeared at a 2003 pro-immigration event on the same dias with a well-known Somali warlord, Gordon told Newsmax.

In a written statement to the conference organizers, Negri said that the hotel had “not received any information related to a specific security threat concerning this event,” and declined to provide any justification for cancelling it at the last minute.

One of the conference organizers told Newsmax on Wednesday that the group was considering a lawsuit against Negri and the Loew’s hotel chain for “unlawful breach of contract.”

Negri also serves on the board of advisors of the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition, TIRRC, an activist group that states its mission “is to empower immigrants and refugees throughout
Tennessee to develop a unified voice” and “defend their rights.”

The group boasts of having helped to defeat an “English only” amendment this January that would have required all
Nashville government communications to be in English.

Earlier this month, the group won an award from the Migration Policy Institute, which is funded by grants form the J.M. Kaplan Fund, a left-wing group that also funds the ACLU, the Tides Foundation, the
Tides Center, the Sierra Club, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and other left-wing causes.

The award singles out TIRRC for its “Welcoming Tennessee Initiative,” to “foster constructive public dialogue on immigration within the state.”

When asked if he objected to Geert Wilders appearance at the conference, Negri refused to comment.

In a recent interview with FoxNews, Wilders complained that
Europe “has pampered” Muslim immigrants. “If you want to come and stay here, that’s okay, but only if you adhere to our values, our principles, our laws… and our constitution,” he said. “With all the tolerance we are having, we are also tolerant to the intolerant.”

FCC’s Warrantless Household Searches Alarm Experts | Threat Level | Wired.com

FCC’s Warrantless Household Searches Alarm Experts

You may not know it, but if you have a wireless router, a cordless phone, remote car-door opener, baby monitor or cellphone in your house, the FCC claims the right to enter your home without a warrant at any time of the day or night in order to inspect it.

That’s the upshot of the rules the agency has followed for years to monitor licensed television and radio stations, and to crack down on pirate radio broadcasters. And the commission maintains the same policy applies to any licensed or unlicensed radio-frequency device.

“Anything using RF energy — we have the right to inspect it to make sure it is not causing interference,” says FCC spokesman David Fiske. That includes devices like Wi-Fi routers that use unlicensed spectrum, Fiske says.

The FCC claims it derives its warrantless search power from the Communications Act of 1934, though the constitutionality of the claim has gone untested in the courts. That’s largely because the FCC had little to do with average citizens for most of the last 75 years, when home transmitters were largely reserved to ham-radio operators and CB-radio aficionados. But in 2009, nearly every household in the United States has multiple devices that use radio waves and fall under the FCC’s purview, making the commission’s claimed authority ripe for a court challenge.

“It is a major stretch beyond case law to assert that authority with respect to a private home, which is at the heart of the Fourth Amendment’s protection against unreasonable search and seizure,” says Electronic Frontier Foundation lawyer Lee Tien. “When it is a private home and when you are talking about an over-powered Wi-Fi antenna — the idea they could just go in is honestly quite bizarre.”

George Washington University professor Orin Kerr, a constitutional law expert, also questions the legalilty of the policy.

“The Supreme Court has said that the government can’t make warrantless entries into homes for administrative inspections,” Kerr said via e-mail, refering to a 1967 Supreme Court ruling that housing inspectors needed warrants to force their way into private residences. The FCC’s online FAQ doesn’t explain how the agency gets around that ruling, Kerr adds.

The rules came to attention this month when an FCC agent investigating a pirate radio station in Boulder, Colorado, left a copy of a 2005 FCC inspection policy on the door of a residence hosting the unlicensed 100-watt transmitter. “Whether you operate an amateur station or any other radio device, your authorization from the Commission comes with the obligation to allow inspection,” the statement says.

The notice spooked those running “Boulder Free Radio,” who thought it was just tough talk intended to scare them into shutting down, according to one of the station’s leaders, who spoke to Wired.com on condition of anonymity. “This is an intimidation thing,” he said. “Most people aren’t that dedicated to the cause. I’m not going to let them into my house.”

But refusing the FCC admittance can carry a harsh financial penalty. In a 2007 case, a Corpus Christi, Texas, man got a visit from the FCC’s direction-finders after rebroadcasting an AM radio station through a CB radio in his home. An FCC agent tracked the signal to his house and asked to see the equipment; Donald Winton refused to let him in, but did turn off the radio. Winton was later fined $7,000 for refusing entry to the officer. The fine was reduced to $225 after he proved he had little income.

Administrative search powers are not rare, at least as directed against businesses — fire-safety, food and workplace-safety regulators generally don’t need warrants to enter a business. And despite the broad power, the FCC agents aren’t cops, says Fiske. “The only right they have is to inspect the equipment,” Fiske says. “If they want to seize, they have to work with the U.S. Attorney’s office.”

But if inspectors should notice evidence of unrelated criminal behavior — say, a marijuana plant or stolen property — a Supreme Court decision suggests the search can be used against the resident. In the 1987 case New York v. Burger, two police officers performed a warrantless, administrative search of one Joseph Burger’s automobile junkyard. When he couldn’t produce the proper paperwork, the officers searched the grounds and found stolen vehicles, which they used to prosecute him. The Supreme Court held the search to be legal.

In the meantime, pirate radio stations are adapting to the FCC’s warrantless search power by dividing up a station’s operations. For instance, Boulder Free Radio consists of an online radio station operated by DJs from a remote studio. Miles away, a small computer streams the online station and feeds it to the transmitter. Once the FCC comes and leaves a notice on the door, the transmitter is moved to another location before the agent returns.

Obama Budget Pushes Sweeping Change

His proposal is to cut the deficit in half by 2013.  Bubba left a surplus, Bush spent like someone that's never had to work for their money, and Obama is left to clean up the mess.

Why is this government not securing our borders and ports?  The extremist muslims want to kill us.  The more American infidels they kill the better.

I dont understand why more people are not concerned about this.  This congress just took away the money to secure our ports.  Its not a matter of if we are going to get attacked again, it when and where.  Are you or relatives in the line of fire?  What is going on??

Come on...the budget reductions were to phase out a problematic program of nuclear detection equipment that didn't work, but would be reintroduced in the future once the technology was better established.  That money is better used elsewhere.  At least tell the truth, and by the way, those videos have been around for a while.  Guess what, there are bad people in the world that don't like us, and President Bush did nothing to help matters for the past 8 years.

If somebody were deliberately trying to undermine the very fabric of these United States, he would first vow not just to change its policies but to completely "change America," and then would do just about everything Barack Obama already has begun to do as president.

To undermine this nation, he would attack the essential sanctity of contracts -- exactly as Obama has done. Never mind the "contracts" clause of the Constitution -- who needs to get hung up on the Constitution's actual language when "empathy" is more important?

For that matter, he would denigrate the whole notion of equal justice under the law by criticizing the whole notion of a judge as a neutral umpire. And he would employ, as a senator, outrageous and unprecedented means -- the filibusters of judicial nominees -- to block judges who don't agree with his own choices of who deserves more "justice" than whom.

To undermine this nation, he would selectively release only those portions of intelligence memos that make his nation look bad, but not those that provide context and reasonable motivations for the subject of the memos. And he would selectively edit memos from his own intelligence director to eliminate his statements in support of the effectiveness of the policies discussed in those other memos -- and his statements supporting the motives of those who adopted those policies in protection of their fellow citizens. And he would leave open the possibility of prosecuting earlier administration's lawyers merely for giving legal advice he disagrees with.

To undermine this nation, a president would go on a spending binge so incredibly wild that annual deficits and national debt would reach frightening proportions before most Americans could even absorb the arithmetic of it all. He would be utterly reckless with our grandchildren's tax money, but would turn around and achieve savings -- minor savings at that -- only by cutting or even gutting defense forces.

He would stop paying for missile defenses. He would stop planning for forces strong enough to handle two regional wars at once, and would concentrate only on counterinsurgency needs while hollowing out our conventional forces. He would repeatedly insult our closest ally (Great Britain) while kowtowing to enemies such as Iran, Venezuela, and Nicaraguan communists. He would travel the world repeatedly apologizing for supposed American sins while failing to defend the USA from verbal assaults from tin pot  dictators.

He would submit budgets that would eliminate funding for an already authorized border fence, and nominate  as top lawyer of the State Department a man who openly mocks the legal underpinnings of American sovereignty.  He would propose raising taxes on corporations, on soft drinks, on investors, on savers, on the grieving families of dead people, on small businesses, and on every family that uses public energy sources.

And worst of all, he would propose unprecedented and underhanded use of a parliamentary maneuver called "reconciliation" to ease the way to an irrevocable government takeover of an entire major sector of the economy -- health care -- without adequate debate and with firm knowledge that the takeover could lead to serious health care rationing and even government-determined decisions on life and death.

To undermine this nation, he would throw out more than two centuries of economic freedom in favor of a modern-day version of Mussolini's economic fascism.

He would refuse to prosecute vote fraud or even guard against it, while repeatedly awarding financial grants to organizations such as ACORN that have been accused of vote fraud on multiple occasions in multiple states. He would stack his Justice Department with highly politicized left-wingers. He would fail, until put directly on the spot, to offer the slightest rebuke to his hand-picked, ethically compromised Attorney General when said AG calls his fellow citizens "a nation of cowards."

In short, to undermine the United States, the president would, as fast as possible, create a massively debt-ridden, tax-ridden, regulation-ridden government whose prosecutors play political favorites but whose stances on the world stage are marked by weakness, self-criticism, and solicitousness towards one's enemies.

Surely this president has other motives. But even if his intentions are good, we all know the substance of the pavement on the road to perdition.

GOP to rebrand Dems as 'socialists'
By: Roger Simon
May 13, 2009 04:32 AM EST

A member of the Republican National Committee told me Tuesday that when the RNC meets in an extraordinary special session next week, it will approve a resolution rebranding Democrats as the “Democrat Socialist Party.”

When I asked if such a resolution would force RNC Chairman Michael Steele to use that label when talking about Democrats in all his speeches and press releases, the RNC member replied: “Who cares?”

Which pretty much sums up the attitude some members of the RNC have toward their chairman these days.

Steele wrote a memo last month opposing the resolution. Steele said that while he believes Democrats “are indeed marching America toward European-style socialism,” he also said in a (rare) flash of insight that officially referring to them as the Democrat Socialist Party “will accomplish little than to give the media and our opponents the opportunity to mischaracterize Republicans.”

See also Two other resolutions — to urge Republican lawmakers to reject earmarks and to commend them for opposing “bailouts and reckless spending bills” — are also on the agenda, but language that would have denounced Sen. Arlen Specter, a Republican turned Democrat, and Republican Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins for voting for President Obama’s stimulus package has been dropped.

Steele didn’t want the special session to be held at all. The RNC will hold its regular summer meeting in July, and all matters could have waited until then. But the special session is being viewed by some in the party as a “comeuppance” for Steele and an implied criticism of his performance and behavior in his first 100 days in office.

Exercising a rarely used party rule that allows any 16 RNC members from 16 different states to demand a special meeting, conservatives in the party forced Steele’s hand, and now the special meeting will be tacked onto the end of a previously scheduled meeting of state party chairmen that will convene next week at National Harbor outside Washington.

A further comeuppance — a vote of “no confidence” in Steele — is not being contemplated, I am informed, because Steele’s opponents in the RNC have already won a major victory by forcing him to accept greater controls on how he spends party funds.

Also, while there has been some talk about replacing Steele, few consider that likely, at least in the near future. “Without a Republican president to decide on that change, that won’t happen,” the RNC member said.

But Steele is not a popular chairman within the RNC, and his recent statements that appeared to attack Mitt Romney and the Republican base have undermined his popularity even further.

Steele was elected to a two-year term as party chairman on Jan. 30 on the sixth ballot, but instead of quietly trying to consolidate power within the party and build up his image, he embarked on a publicity tour that included statements that some in the party considered baffling at best and incendiary at worst.

“He has a tin ear,” the RNC member told me when I asked him to name Steele’s worst problem. “He has a tin ear when it comes to the building (i.e., the RNC staff), the RNC and the party.”

Last Friday, when Steele was guest-hosting conservative pundit Bill Bennett’s radio show, a caller suggested that Romney would have been a stronger candidate against Barack Obama than John McCain but that liberals and the media had pushed for McCain to win the Republican nomination.

The caller was, perhaps, not making the most intellectually rigorous of arguments, but in his answer Steele seemed to outdo the caller.

“Remember, it was the base that rejected Mitt because of his switch on pro-life, from pro-choice to pro-life,” Steele replied. “It was the base that rejected Mitt because it had issues with Mormonism. It was the base that rejected Mitt because they thought he was back and forth and waffling on those very economic issues you’re talking about.”

Steele, who himself has said that abortion is a matter of “individual choice,” was opening old wounds not only by attacking Romney but also by suggesting the Republican base is bigoted when it comes to Mormons.

“His job should be to get everybody to sit down and focus on a message for the party and then get them to be the messengers,” the RNC member told me. “Steele wants to do the right thing, but he is clueless as to how the RNC really runs.”

Roger Simon is POLITICO’s chief political columnist.

DEATH OF U.S. HEALTHCARE

When all of America’s top health insurers and providers met at the White House this week and pledged to save $2 trillion over the next decade in health costs, they were pledging to sabotage our medical care. The blunt truth, which everybody agreed to keep quiet, is that the only way to reduce these costs is to ration healthcare, thereby destroying our system.

Here’s why:

• Essential to any cost reduction is a cut in doctors’ fees. Congress is trying to cut Medicare fees by 21 percent. But cuts in fees and doctors’ incomes will just discourage people from entering the profession and those already in it from practicing. The limited number of doctors and nurses in the United States is the key constraint on the availability of healthcare. Our national inventory of 800,000 doctors is growing at only about 1 percent a year (18,000 med school graduates annually minus retirements), while the nurse population is stagnant at 1.4 million. To stretch these limited resources so that they can treat 50 million more people is possible only through the most severe kind of rationing.

• As in Canada, the best way to cut medical costs is to refrain from using the best drugs to treat cancer and other illnesses, thereby economizing at the expense of patients’ lives. Forty-four percent of the drugs approved by the Canadian health authorities for use in their country are not allowed by the healthcare system due to their high cost. As a result, death rates from cancer are 16 percent higher in Canada than in the United States. We will pay for the attempt to save $2 trillion with our lives. (And remember, one cannot opt out of the Canadian system and pay for the medications out of pocket.)

• The only real way to save money on the scale projected is to ration healthcare services. Optimists say that this can be achieved by increased use of preventive care. But the Canadian experience indicates that when government — or its satellite private insurance providers — ration healthcare, they cut preventive care first. In Canada, colonoscopies are so rationed that the colon cancer rate is 25 percent higher than in the U.S. (even though Canada has a much smaller proportion of poor people, whose frequently bad diets make them more prone to the disease).

Obama’s pretension that nobody will find changes in his or her current health insurance plans except for a magical reduction in their cost by $2,500 a year is a fool’s proposition. Private health insurers will be no more private than TARP-funded banks or government-subsidized car companies are in Obama’s America. They will be controlled by government healthcare planners who will approve treatments, limit drug use, hold down medical incomes and bring their cost-cutting programs to bear. Inevitably, their ax will fall on the oldest and the sickest among us, those least “deserving” of our newly limited and, under Obama’s program, diminishing healthcare resources.

The other radical changes Obama is bringing about in our nation can always be reversed. New taxes can be repealed or lowered. That which was nationalized can be privatized. Government which has grown can be cut. But once the healthcare system is extended to cover everyone, with no commensurate increase in the resources available, the change will be forever. The vicious cycle of cuts in medical resources and in the number of doctors and nurses will doom healthcare in this country. This wanton destruction will not be reversible by any bill or program. A crucial part of our quality of life — the best healthcare in the world — will be gone forever.

Politically, voters will feel the impact of these “reforms” very quickly. When they face rejection or limitation at the hands of the bureaucrats, they will quickly understand that the their options have become limited. Just as in the 1990s, when HMOs first became universal, the patient outrage will create a political force all its own and those who foisted this brave new  world on the American people will be in their crosshairs.

American Capitalism Gone With A Whimper

by Stanislav Mishin

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descend into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the backdrop of a passive, hapless sheep. Excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

True, the situation has been well prepared, on and off, for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds were conducted upon our Holy Russia...and bloody a test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.

Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.

First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather then the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds or a Burger King, than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blinds the foolish.

Then, their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses, and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money-printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Weimar Republic and at worst, Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breathtaking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system...by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. Those make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beaten our own thieves in sheer volumes. Should we congratulate them?

These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.

Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and, we can assume, other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.

So, it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantors of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair [Brown], not to follow the path to Marxism; it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing as foolish, drunken Russians; so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman's" whimper.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratic-controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses?

Representative Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and, if taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.

The proud American will go down into his slavery without a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world how free he thinks he is. The world will only snicker.

I've been saying this ever since Daddy Bush was in office, plus both of them were war mongers.

[size=UN Child Rights Treaty Threatens Gun Owners' Rights]

ParentalRights.org today released The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child: The Impact on Private Gun-Ownership in America, a carefully-considered legal analysis of the impact this United Nations treaty will have on Americans’ Second Amendment Rights. In it, author Michael Farris, J.D., establishes that ratification of the UNCRC poses a significant threat to the right of the American people to keep and bear arms:
  • The U.N. believes all children have a right to grow up in a community without guns.
  • The U.N. holds that the UNCRC is applicable to this issue.
  • They also hold that the idea that guns are beneficial is itself harmful to children.
  • The UN believes guns should never be accessible to children.
Read the full article here. Also, be sure to pass this on to any friends and family members who value their Second Amendment rights.

Are these posts for real?  Are you really worried about our country, one of the most capitalistic, nationalistic, center-right countries in the world becoming a soviet-style communism.  Most of our country doesn't even look kindly upon socialism but communism?  Are there any real tangible signs-other than that our government is spending too much.  If that was all it took to become a communism, then the administration of George W. Bush made this country communist a few years ago.  I suggest we celebrate all of the wonderful things that happen in our great country every day and worry less about the things that have a less than .1% chance of happening. :)

Something happened... H.R. 1388 was passed yesterday, behind our backs. You may want to read about it. It wasn't mentioned on the news... just went by on the ticker tape at the bottom of the CNN screen.
H.R. 1388... is "Arbeit Macht Frei" too strong?

#summary {display:none;}

Maybe. Not.

[size=H.R. 1388 has already passed the House –][size= ][size=yesterday, in fact][size=.]

The breakout of ‘yeas’ and ‘nays’ tells a story all its own:

Now, in spite of the text changes that had to be made again and again to whitewash the recurring references to “camps” and such throughout this Bill on “Invigorating Volunteerism"...

(C) in paragraph (3)--
(i) by striking ‘superintendent’ and inserting ‘campus director’; and
(ii) by striking ‘camp’ and inserting ‘campus’; and

‘(1) UNITS TO BE ASSIGNED TO CAMPUSES- ’;
(ii) by striking ‘in camps’ and inserting ‘in campuses’;
(iii) by striking ‘camp’ and inserting ‘campus’; and
(iv) by striking ‘in the camps’ and inserting ‘in the campuses’;

‘(3) ELIGIBLE SITE FOR CAMPUS- ’;
(ii) by striking ‘A camp may be located’ and inserting ‘A campus must be cost-effective and may, upon the completion of a feasibility study, be located’;

‘(e) Distribution of Units and Campuses- ’;
(B) by striking ‘camps are distributed’ and inserting ‘campuses are cost-effective and are distributed’; and
(C) by striking ‘rural areas’ and all that follows through the period at the end and inserting ‘rural areas such that each Corps unit in a region can be easily deployed for disaster and emergency response to such region.’; and...
(So - they want their 'Camps' distributed in 'rural' flyover-country...away from population centers? )

…anyone who supports this Bill is going to tell you “It’s just about supporting volunteer organizations that already exist!” (seriously, the “nuthin’ to see here – move along” crowd is hard at work on the boards) – and will heatedly insist that there’s "Nothing Mandatory” about any of it.

And that’s true – as far as that goes...

But there most assuredly are “requirements” attached to being a recipient of ‘Grants’:

‘(a) Required National Service Corps- The recipient of a grant under section 121(a) and each Federal agency operating or supporting a national service program under section 121(b) shall, directly or through grants or subgrants to other entities, carry out or support the following national service corps, as full- or part-time corps, including during the summer months, to address unmet educational, health, veteran, or environmental needs:
And oh, that list does go on – follow THIS LINK, there really is too much to post here.
(make sure anything near to hand isn’t too heavy, hard or sharp for safe throwing)

And not to be overlooked is the incongruity of this piece – in a Bill on ‘Volunteerism’:

[size=“Section 1508 – Authorized Benefits for Corps Members”]

Now this only makes reference to language-revisions for this section of the Bill, but THIS LINK will take you to the ‘Benefits’ section itself – to wit:

(a) In general
The Director shall provide for members of the Civilian Community Corps to receive benefits authorized by this section.

(b) Living allowance
The Director shall provide a living allowance to members of the Corps for the period during which such members are engaged in training or any activity on a Corps project. The Director shall establish the amount of the allowance at any amount not in excess of the amount equal to 100 percent of the poverty line that is applicable to a family of two (as defined by the Office of Management and Budget and revised annually in accordance with section 9902 (2) of this title.[1]

(c) Other authorized benefits
While receiving training or engaging in service projects as members of the Civilian Community Corps, members may be provided the following benefits:

(1) Allowances for travel expenses, personal expenses, and other expenses.
(2) Quarters.
(3) Subsistence.
(4) Transportation.
(5) Equipment.
(6) Clothing.
(7) Recreational services and supplies.
(8) Other services determined by the Director to be consistent with the purposes of the Program.
(and there’s more)

So – Wages, Housing, Subsistence (food), Transportation & Clothing.

Now, over the years, I’ve built a couple of ‘Habitat’ houses, done pro-bono Legal Advocacy for the local domestic violence shelter and volunteered with a small-town migrant-farm-worker association.

But reading through THAT list of ‘Benefits’, what has become clear is that I’ve apparently lost track of where “Volunteering” ends and where “Working on the Government Collective” begins…. Or is it just me?

Please - anyone - if my idea of ‘Volunteering’ is completely off, chime in and let me know...

Okay....

Despite the ‘People’s Collective’ theme - again – nothing “Mandatory” in the strictest possible sense – as long as you (or your respective education departments or school districts) don’t take any Grant-money,

But… (‘cause you knew there was going to be one)

The most troubling parts of this are, as such things tend to be, aaalllll the way at the bottom:

[size=TITLE VI--CONGRESSIONAL COMMISSION ON CIVIC SERVICE]
(as there’s a fair amount of intro-pablum, I’m going to skip around a little)

SEC. 6103. ESTABLISHMENT.
There is established in the legislative branch a commission to be known as the ‘Congressional Commission on Civic Service’ (in this title referred to as the ‘Commission’).

SEC. 6104. DUTIES.
(a) General Purpose- The purpose of the Commission is to gather and analyze information in order to make recommendations to Congress to--

(b) Specific Topics- In carrying out its general purpose under subsection (a), the Commission shall address and analyze the following specific topics:
(this is where the creepy parts really get going)

(5) The effect on the Nation, on those who serve, and on the families of those who serve, if all individuals in the United States were expected to perform national service or were required to perform a certain amount of national service.

(6) Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.

(7) The need for a public service academy, a 4-year institution that offers a federally funded undergraduate education with a focus on training future public sector leaders. (because once the service is mandatory... - MD)

(8) The means to develop awareness of national service and volunteer opportunities at a young age by creating, expanding, and promoting service options for elementary and secondary school students, through service learning or other means, and by raising awareness of existing incentives.

(9) The effectiveness of establishing a training program on college campuses to recruit and educate college students for national service.

(11) The constraints that service providers, nonprofit organizations, and State and local agencies face in utilizing federally funded volunteer programs, and how these constraints can be overcome. (I'm thinking 'Mandatory' would 'overcome' - MD)

(12) Whether current Federal volunteer programs are suited to address the special skills and needs of senior volunteers, and if not, how these programs can be improved such that the Federal Government can effectively promote service among the ‘baby boomer’ generation. (so that elderly-social-productiveness can be made mandatory - once the preceding points are stipulated - MD)
So – No, nothing in the current Bill, in its current form is ‘Mandatory’.

Yet.

But it does yeoman-work in laying down all of the infrastructure needed for an eventual slide toward ‘Mandatory’ – if that were the intention...

Which, according to the Commission’s “Specific Topics” – pretty clearly is exactly the intention.

So, what do we do now?

This is an URGENT outrage for every thinking American..PLEASE FORWARD!!!!!

"Owners of capital will stimulate the working class to buy more and more expensive goods, houses and technology, pushing them to take on more and more expensive debt, until their debt becomes unbearable. The unpaid debt will lead to the bankruptcy of all banks, which will have to be nationalized, and the State will have to take the road which will eventually lead to communism."
                                           ????????..Karl Marx, in Das Kapital

These things are happening without our knowledge every day; this is NOT transparency, we surely are entitled to know what is happening in our government.  And each day, I receive a new surprise.

Whether you are an Obama fan, or not, EVERYONE IN THE

U. S. needs to know....

Obama funds $20M in tax payer dollars to immigrate Hamas Refugees to the
USA. This is the news that didn't make the headlines...

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in "migration assistance" to the Palestinian refugees and "conflict victims" in
Gaza.

The "presidential determination", which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the
United States, was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

Few on Capitol Hill, or in the media, took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

Let's review...itemized list of some of Barack Obama's most recent actions since his inauguration:

His first call to any head of state, as president, was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one television interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

His first executive order was to fund/facilitate abortion(s) not just here within the
U. S., but within the world, using U.. S. tax payer funds.

 He ordered
Guantanamo Bay closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

He ordered overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and the "terror attack" on 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to, and live in, the
US at American taxpayer expense.

These important, and insightful, issues are being "lost" in the blinding bail-outs and "stimulation" packages.

Doubtful? To verify this for yourself:

The Banks, the Pharmaceuticals, and the Oil companys

all have us by the throat

The Banks will kill themselves before they let go of our throats, why do you think they are not lending money

Interest rates are too low

and they are only going to go up

I can not even get a loan with the cash in the bank as

Collateral,

and  my credit score is not bad at all, they will not do it

All three are the same, and they will kill themselves to get your money from your pocket

This is not a Thomas Jefferson quote...
Here's a quote from a president for ya.......

I believe that bankinginstitutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American People ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

-Thomas Jefferson 1802

WOW !! What a revelation !!

There was an interview with Billy Graham's daughter on the Early show. Jane Clayson asked her a question about why God lets tragedy occur around us. Anne Graham gave a profound and insightful response. She said, " I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years now we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentlemen that He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?" -----So, to the remark, God wouldn't let this happen to us. Why wouldn't he? We asked him to.

Her interview contained even more eye opening statements, if you would like the rest of it, I would be glad to share.

So what you really meant to say is that you are concerned about “pork barrel” spending, and not just spending in general?  There are some pretty important things that "spending" pays for, such as our military, Medicare, and infrastructure to name a few.  It really helps if you’re clear on what you are trying to say, but it seems clarity is something that seems to be lacking from your posts.  So, let’s again dismantle the argument that you are presenting:

The federal tax code is voluntary in nature; you stated that paying taxes is mandatory.

4. On July 7th 2000 There was a 50k challenge from the "We the Pople(sic) Foundation" in the USA Today that said if someone could show the law that says its manditory(sic) that we pay Federal Income Tax, they would be 50k richer.  No one could prove it.

The right of the federal government to levy income taxes is not established by the 16th amendment.  The Constitution, Article 1, Section 2, Clause 3 establishes government taxing.  I’ve provided the case law to substantiate the right for the government to collect taxes and the further clarification that the 16th amendment establishes.  If you don’t think that you owe federal income taxes, please by all means, don’t pay.

Each Federal Reserve Bank (all 12) are owned by member banks within each district WITH NO MAJORITY VOTING INTEREST.  The Fed was designed to help in situations just like we are in i.e. your fear in the market causes you to panic and run to your bank only to learn that there is no money there.  The FDIC, run by the Fed, was an answer to this scenario seen during the Great Depression.

Sorry I was not clear about your lack of minorities at your teabagging party.  I was there because it is my constitutional right to be there, and I definitely got some good laughs while I was at it.  I’ll tell you to take a look again not only at the participants of the local party, but also those of 30,000 estimated nationwide participants (talk about bringing out the populous).  There weren’t many there that represented America as a whole (Black, Brown or whatever).  As offered, the Tea Bag parties are an Astroturf-roots movement more than a grassroots one.  The events were organized and coordinated by three national level conservative groups.  Much in the same way that you paraded Palin out as some representative of women as a response to Hillary, most folks with a brain see through the patronizing.  Obama’s grassroots are how he raised $770MM, not the other way around….silly republicant.

I find it so terribly interesting that six months ago you had an epiphany about American history and politics.  Not so interesting though is how it coincided with the election of Obama.  The reasons are clear, and let me share this with you again, as the majority of Americans did in November; Obama won, he’s the president of all of us, and he's in need of our support since liberals and conservatives sink or swim together.  A rising tide raises all boats...

I think this is how General George S. Patton would sum things up.. and then catch holy hell from Ike.

He had a unique way of expressing his thoughts.

Spending might not be a big deal to you..  But spending is a big issue most Americans.  Especially Pork Spending and these so called stimulus plans...

I'm still waiting on the Tax Code or Law that says its mandatory that we pay Federal Income Tax......

Here is a chart that shows the owners of the Federal Reserve Bank and who they are connected with and an AMERICAN SOURCE:
Source: Federal Reserve Directors: A Study of Corporate and Banking Influence. Staff Report,Committee on Banking,Currency and Housing, House of Representatives, 94th Congress, 2nd Session, August 1976.

http://land.netonecom.net/tlp/ref/federal_reserve.shtml

Isn't it funny how these owners are connected to all the companies that got huge bailouts????

And as for torture, both democrats and republicans in congress were at the approval meetings for all the so called torture techniques.  They didn't have a problem with those techniques after 9-11.  Why do they want the bush administration to be prosecuted for it now?
Can you say Smoke Screens....I bet their printing more money in the middle of the night while everyone is talking about this crap..

Wait a second, you said, you didn't see many that looked like you at the Tea Party?  What are you an alien or something??  Were you the fat, bald headed white guy that was standing outside the event, getting people as they were walking in, to sign a petition that was supported by Acorn??  WAS THAT YOU????

You just don't get it.  We are not the GOP.  We are Republicans and Democrats, all average citizens who put this thing on with a little help from Wink News radio.
What were you doing at an event like that anyway?  Your views are totally opposite.
We don't have the 700 milliion that Obama was funded for his campaign and the news media is not covering the tea parties like they should be.  Otherwise we probably would have had a few more thousand there..

Hey we dont like the republican party either.  They have no leader.  Havent you been listening?

Ok lets just say that we agree to disagree and leave it like that.  You apparently cant see through your own anger and hate because of what someone has done or said to you.  This isn't about party affiliation.  Its about what's right and what's wrong.  You apparently cant see that.

Spending, in and of itself, is not the issue.  Spending more than what is collected is what results in deficits.  Please, spare me an other dialog if you can't get this basic economic principle.

As for the Fed, try another website than something from Canada.  Not that Canadians have a problem with providing good things, like beer, but as far as sound advice on the US government it's a bit off.  Take a look at http://www.federalreserve.gov/generalinfo/faq/faqfrs.htm if you need to understand the legality of the government collecting income tax.  The constitution doesn't outlaw torture, so I guess that's ok as well.  I'm sure Cheney will come back into office to tell you that it's law because he said so.:(

No surprise that you have the GOP talking points so firmly in your mouth, I guess that 's from your teabagging party.  And by the way, I actually did attend the event at Centennial Park.  I didn't see many that looked like me, other than the press.  I thought that Fox News told me that this was supposed to be the seminal event that changed the tide of government spending and excess.  You'd think that the GOP would be able to muster up more people nationally then Obama was able to do in just ONE of his rallies.  I'm guessing the grassroots needs quite a bit more of water and encouragement.

Don't you get it?  Having your token, like Steele, doesn't fool us at all.  It's the same story with your party, nothing new, that's why you got your ass kicked this past election.  People are sick of the rhetoric, and sick of the lack of new ideas.  People have grown tired of the Party of No.  So you see, your little party hasn't figured out yet how to get minorities involved in your cause.  Trust me, the little Palin thing didn't sit well with most folks when they realized that you just tried to pander to the female vote.  Come up with some ideas, present some solutions, or as the saying goes "Lead, follow, or get out of the way!!!"

So, I still agree that the Bush's had a hand in it, they certainly WERE NOT ALONE!

Sorry Tiger, spending is one of the issues,, it was one of the issues with Bush, oh but because Obama is a democrat we should let him get away with spending more.  That doesn't make sense.  The only difference between Obama & Bush is Bush didnt mortgage our kids futures.

Tiger, what about Federal Mortgage Lenders, that's not a government owned mortgage company, look it up online.  Not all businesses with the name Federal in them are owned by the Government.   The Federal Reserve is a privately owned company.  They put that name on it so that it would look like the Govt owned it.  http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=10489  Dont believe me, but dont tell me im wrong without looking it up online.

As for taxes, look it up.  You email me the law that says its mandatory that we pay federal income tax and i will tell you that your right.  Just the law and where it can be located....... I bet ya cant ;)

Its funny how different the local news is from fox news.  I guess that's why fox news is leading all the other news channels by a landslide.  They are not bias, they make you look at whats going on and say,, what if??  Oreilly agrees with Obama  on some things but he presents the news and lets you decide.  I dont listen to Rush but hes supposed to be on top with ratings also. He just has a little radio show.  Hmm maybe I'll start...

Dont make this about race.  Were not racist, we dont like what BOTH Obama and Congress are doing.  And because we are speaking up,  ohhh they must be racist... give me a break.. If that's all you got, bring it on because people are getting really tired of you people calling us names when all of your arguments run out. What was that old saying, sticks and stones,, oh yea..

Wow your really stuck on the racism thing.  Did you go to any of the Tea Parties?  Do you know that there were.... OMG Black people there??? Oh dear...how can that be, if these parties were about race??  Oh yea, there were also white people, asian people, chinese people, indian people, and on and on.... Strange......

Thank you FYI for pointing out more FACTS.. your right..

They stretched the terms of the mortgages an then sold them off in mass to hide the screw up. IT was and IS the biggest fraud of the century passed off to the next guy in office.

So, I still agree that the Bush's had a hand in it, they certainly WERE NOT ALONE!

Wow, where in the world do I start?  Rambling, yes… stating “facts”, no!!

So, where do I start to dissect your diatribe?  Let’s take it point by point…

1)      Spending is not the issue. The real issue is “does spending exceed revenue?”   The average US citizen spends more each year for food, housing, gas, and living expenses.  But, our incomes have also increased as well.  Our spending has increased every year, so what’s your point?  If you want to listen to Peter Gibbons for tax advice I suggest that you let your family know now that you’ll be away for a while with your soon to be tax evasion charges.

2)      The “Federal” Reserve is owned by the government, hence the name FEDERAL!!  The U.S. Mint prints our money, not the Fed.  Put down the tea bagging flyer and take and pick that history book back up.  Maybe six months isn’t enough time to learn about how government works.

3)      Since you like case law, take a look at the following cases which establish the constitutionality of federal income taxes:  Parker v. Commissioner, 724 F.2d 469, 84-1 U.S. Tax Cas. (CCH) paragr. 9209 (5th Cir. 1984) (closing parenthesis in original has been omitted). For other court decisions upholding the taxability of wages, salaries, etc. see United States v. Connor, 898 F.2d 942, 90-1 U.S. Tax Cas. (CCH) paragr. 50,166 (3d Cir. 1990); Perkins v. Commissioner, 746 F.2d 1187, 84-2 U.S. Tax Cas. (CCH) paragr. 9898 (6th Cir. 1984); White v. United States, 2005-1 U.S. Tax Cas. (CCH) paragr. 50,289 (6th Cir. 2004), cert. denied, ____ U.S. ____ (2005); Granzow v. Commissioner, 739 F.2d 265, 84-2 U.S. Tax Cas. (CCH) paragr. 9660 (7th Cir. 1984); Waters v. Commissioner, 764 F.2d 1389, 85-2 U.S. Tax Cas. (CCH) paragr. 9512 (11th Cir. 1985); United States v. Buras, 633 F.2d 1356, 81-1 U.S. Tax Cas. (CCH) paragr. 9126 (9th Cir. 1980).

4)      You need better sources that “We the People.” Isn’t their new challenge about Obama’s citizenship?

If you’re scared then you should stop listening to Rush, Beck and O’Reilly. They don’t help with your Obama derangement syndrome.

It’s more of the same with the GOP crowd such as you.  Obama is the Boogey Man, he’s going to allow an attack, he’s turning us into a socialist country, he’s not an American, he’s a Muslim, etc.  He’s just a man that cares about his country, and wants to do what is best for all – Democrat and Republican alike.

What I’ve seen in the past 6 months is more covert racism than I’ve ever seen in my life.  The point isn’t that it’s a new president, it’s that it’s a new BLACK president.  The tea bagging parties were all about Obama, and not the taxes.  This country, and it’s new breed of bigots and racists have me more scared than any terrorist could ever do.  You see, I know that terrorists are looking for some major target and huge event to make their mark.  Racists exist in every community, impact ever aspect of life, and are no better than those that they claim to hate.

I’m not mad at all, but I do feel sorry for the tea bagging, GOP crew.

Theres no denying that everyone both democrats and republicans have been blind as to whats been going on in our Govt.  Hell, I skipped history in highschool.  Never thought I'd be involved with anything having to do with government because I trusted that they would always do the right thing & at the time, I didnt think it was important.  Ive learned more in the last 6 months about how the govt works and who the people are that are suposedly representing us than I did through high school and college.  That being said, I might not be as interested in whats going on, had i not had my son.  At this point, there are a couple things that are facts.

1. This President & congress are spending more than all the other presidents combined.  The Grace Commission  reported that 100% of what is collected is absorbed soley by interest on the federal debt, all indiv income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services tax payers expect from the govt.   Peter Gibbons  - Tax Attorney

2. This congress is printing money like theres no tomorrow, in effect devaluating the dollar.  The Federal Reserve Bank is a privately owned bank.  The Constitution gives the Governement the right to print money.  Why is the governement allowing the Federal Reserve to print the money, when the Govt can do it for free and who are these bankers that we paying interest to?

3. The IRS claims that In 1913 the 16th amendment, the icome tax amendment allowed the govt a 3rd form of taxation. The provisions of  the 16th amendment conferred, no new power of taxation. The Rushoward case also said that the 16th amendment did not impose any new taxes and did not change any taxing restrictions of the constitution. These other cases said the same thing:Bowers vs kurbo empire, Barnett vs  Harmell, Doyal vs Mitchell, Starton independence vs Hobart, Southern pacific vs Lowe.

4. On July 7th 2000 There was a 50k challenge from the "We the Pople Foundation" in the USA Today that said if someone could show the law that says its manditory that we pay Federal Income Tax, they would be 50k richer.  No one could prove it.

Thats just the tip of the iceberg.  I am really scared, not as much for myself, but for my parents and my son, who will be paying for all this spending, for the rest of his life.  There doesnt seem to be any end to it, there is soo much going on thats blatently wrong and everything is moving so quick that its hard to keep up with everything.

Not only that, but the govt is not willing to enforce our laws on illegal aliens, the govt is looking at people who are willing to stand up for their constitutional and God given rights as Right Wing extremists, even calling our military that have been serving overseas possible combatants.  What is next? One world government and one world currency.  It doesnt seem so far fetched right now.

The rouge countries think were a joke, the countries that have supported us are wondering what the hell is going on.  They are taking about torture and going after the bush administration.  Its smoke and mirrors.  Bush kept us safe for 8 years.  He may have screwed up other stuff be we didnt get attacked again. THATS A FACT!

We are at war.  Do you really think that other countries care if we waterboard their terrorists?  They have no problem cutting Americans heads off (LOOK IT UP ONLINE BECAUSE THEY VIDEO TAPED IT) or blowing up our cities.  THE EXTREMISTS WANT TO KILL ALL OF US, ITS A FACT... HELLOOOOOO!!! When did it become "ok"  to give these people rights and protect them, knowing that they want to kill us and when let go, will be back to attack us again.

WHEN DID AMERICA BECOME DEMONIZED????? WE ARE THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.  Sure we have our problems but overall we would help even those who hate us.  How is that evil?

Sorry im rambling, but again, I understand how you feel and all of us, democrats and republicans alike have had our heads in the sand for way too long.  If we dont start standing up for whats right, life as we know it will be lost.

Capitalism didnt cause this meltdown of America, CRIMINALS DID!  And Obama wasnt the first successful black man that "Acheived the American Dream".  He was bought and paid for.  Chris Gardner was the guy that "The Pursuit of Happieness" movie was based on.  He has acheived the American dream.  Tyler Perry made one of the best movies ive seen in a while " Medias Family Reunion" that tells us to stand up and take our places before our society falls.  Rent them. We are not racists, we are Americans of every race and color and we are concerned about Americas future and OUR CHILDRENS FUTURE.

You can be mad as hell at whoever you want but the facts are what they are.

God Bless

Do your homework urallposers because this crisis has more than just Bubba to blame.  Just look at credit default swaps, weakened regulations of Fannie and Freddie Mac, Greenspan, Bush (HW and GW), collateralized debt obligations, etc.

My point is that this “make believe” outrage needs to stop.  As well, the GOP would be well served by working with the Obama administration, rather than try to be opposed to any and all legislation that he presents.  They were not strong enough to stand up to Bush and his shenanigans, but now when faced with the opposing party all they can do is have a knee jerk reaction to say no without offering any plausable solution.  You have a congress half full of conservatives acting like kids in the sandbox "Either you let me play with your toy like I want to or I don't want to play at all."

God did not put us into this mess, human beings did however.  The only role that God played in this has come from the right using religion as a tool to manipulate the populous via moral items which have appeared as wedge issues at the polls (gay marriage and such).  That's like saying God allowed 9/11 and torture, WW I & WW II, global warming, or the Cubs inability to win the World Series.  But, if you are a believer, then it takes the Lord’s commandment to “Love each other as you have loved me.”

tiger00.....here's the thing, Clinton is the one who began this whole economic meltdown when he allowed the fannimae and freddiemac companies to begin all their shananigans.......bush just let it continue and i doubt obama is going to pick up the world and tote it around on his shoulders. i hope he can change things, but he isn't God....everyone needs to remember that. God is in control and if he wants America to recover, then she will. However, if this is part of his plan to carry out prophecy and return for his people.....then we won't. anyway, i'm not trying to attack anyone, but don't place all the blame on one, when there were others contributing.

Where was the outrage for the last 8 years?  Why all of the outrage now?  Why the false slogan of "No Taxation without Representation?"  Why not protest in Washington DC, where there truly is a lack of representation for the citizens that reside in the district.  Where is the outrage over Fox "NEWS" promoting the teabagger parties, rather than reporting on them as a "fair and balanced" news organizations?  How about the outrage over Dick Army organizing this effort to get the rubes that will benefit from the current tax cuts to protest for the $250K plus crowd?  Why no outrage over the poor direction and lack of leadership with the GOP?  Why not frustration over the lack of coverage of minorities that attended these Tea Bagging parties?  How about being outraged that Bush lied about torture, when he authorized it all along?

There's plenty to be mad about, but the guy with less than 100 days in office is not the right target.  Look in the mirror, you elected Bush and Company, and this economic meltdown is the product of your voting.  Now I'm outraged that you'd even put this stupid posting up for anyone to see!

Now this is scary!!

Northeast Intelligence Network » FBI spied on TEA Party Americans

Oh by the way, Im a stay at home mom and Im Pround to say, Ive been labled a Right Wing Extremist!!

This is Mandy Connel from Wink Radio, she helped put on our Tax day tea party...

Hi, my name is Mandy, and I'm a Right Wing Extremist...
Apr 17, 2009 -- 7:58am

Thanks to Nancy for this exceptional idea.  As part of the bs Department of Homeland Security report which named me and nearly all of my listeners Right Wing Extremists for one reason or another (I have the nerve to want more local control and smaller federal government!).  The DHS has conveniently set up a phone number to make it fun and easy to report the Right Wing Extremist near you!  Nancy came up with the suggestion that we all issue a preemptive strike...we should all call and report ourselves.  I love this.  I will be doing this later today and will report back on my experience.  If I don't make it to work on Monday, just assume I've been swept up by the Black Helicopters.

On a more serious note, can you IMAGINE what would have happened in the news media if the Bush Administration had set up a hotline to report people upset with the Iraq War?  We would have heard about nothing else and there would have been loud screams for a Congressional investigation into this abuse of power.  But again, if you think there is a liberal media bias, you're just a lemming who gets your talking points from Fox News.  Gotta go, my Rush talking points memo is coming through on the fax machine...

DHS Report the Right Wing Extremist Number:  202-282-9685

 Give em hell.

*** UPDATE**** Apparently, they are now directing all Right Wing Extremist Tattle Tales to a different number.  Call 202-282-8495 to report yourself

This letter was sent to the Wall Street Journal on August 8, 2008 by Alisa Wilson, Ph.D. Of Beverly Hills , CA . in response to the Wall Street Journal article titled "Where's The Outrage?" that appeared July 31,2008.

Really. I can tell you where the outrage is. The outrage is here, in this middle-aged, well-educated, upper-middle class woman. The outrage is here, but I have no representation, no voice. The outrage is here, but no one is listening for who am I?

I am not a billionaire like George Soros that can fund an entire political movement.
I am not a celebrity like Barbra Streisand that can garner the attention of the press to promote political candidates.
I am not a film maker like Michael Moore or Al Gore that can deliver misleading movies to the public

The outrage is here, but unlike those with money or power, I don't know how to reach those who feel similarly in order to effect change.
Why am I outraged? I am outraged that my country, the United States of America , is in a state of moral and ethical decline. There is no right or
wrong anymore, just what's fair.

Is it fair that millions of Americans who overreached and borrowed more than they could afford are now being bailed out by the government and lending institutions to stave off foreclosure? Why shouldn't these people be made to pay the consequences for their poor judgment?

When my husband and I purchased our home, we were careful to purchase only what we could afford Believe me, there are much larger, much nicer homes that I would have loved to have purchased. But, taking responsibility for my behavior and my life, I went with the house that we could afford, not the house that we could not afford. The notion of personal responsibility has all but died in our country.

I am outraged, that the country that welcomed my mother as an immigrant from Hitler's Nazi Germany and required that she and her family learn English now allows itself to be overrun with illegal immigrants and worse, caters to those illegal immigrants.

I am outraged that my hard-earned taxes help support those here illegally. That the Los Angeles Public School District is in such disarray that I felt it incumbent to send my child to private school, that every time I go to the ATM, I see "do you want to continue in English or Spanish?", that every time I call the bank, the phone company , or similar business, I hear "press 1 for English or press 2 for Spanish". WHY? This is America , our common language is English and attempts to promote a bi- or multi-lingual society are sure to fail and to marginalize those who cannot communicate in English.

I am outraged at our country's weakness in the face of new threats on American traditions from Muslims. Just this week, Tyson's Food negotiated with its union to permit Muslims to have Eid-al-Fitr as a holiday instead of Labor Day. What am I missing? Yes, there is a large Somali Muslim population working at the Tyson's plant in Tennessee . Tennessee , last I checked, is still part of the United States . If Muslims want to live and work here they should be required to live and work by our American Laws and not impose their will on our long history.

In the same week, Random House announced that they had indefinitely delayed the publication of The Jewel of Medina, by Sherry Jones, a book about the life of Mohammed's wife, Aisha due to fear of retribution and violence by Muslims When did we become a nation ruled by fear of what other immigrant groups want? It makes me so sad to see large corporations cave rather than stand proudly on the principles that built this country.

I am outraged because appeasement has never worked as a political policy, yet appeasing Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is exactly what we are trying to do. An excellent article, also published recently in the Wall Street Journal, went through over 20 years of history and why talking with Iran has been and will continue to be ineffective. Yet talk, with a madman no less, we continue to do. Have we so lost our moral compass and its ability to detect evil that we will not go in and destroy Iran 's nuclear program? Would we rather wait for another Holocaust for the Jews - one which they would be unlikely to survive? When does it end?

As if the battle for good and evil isn't enough, now come the Environmentalists who are so afraid of global warming that they want to put a Bag tax on grocery bags in California; to eliminate Mylar balloons; to establish something as insidious as the recycle police in San Francisco. I do my share for the environment: I recycle, I use water wisely, I installed an energy efficient air conditioning unit. But when and where does the lunacy stop?  Ahmadinejad wants to wipe Israel off the map, the California economy is being overrun by illegal immigrants, and the United States of America no longer knows right from wrong, good from evil.. So what does California do? Tax grocery bags.

So, America , although I can tell you where the outrage is, this one middle-aged, well-educated, upper middle class woman is powerless to do anything about it. I don't even feel like my vote counts because I am so outnumbered by those who disagree with me.
