What I would like to have you explain is how to keep Obama on the straight and narrow. The time for that is past. He can do anything he and his Chicago backers want to do. If he causes you to be hopeful, I wonder what you are looking at. I do not believe in supporting the president if he is doing wrong. His stimulus efforts have not improved anything. Most of them are nothing more than a huge waste. I have said before he was elected that he wants to be president of the world and I see nothing different now. He has wanted to level the playing field, you know, spread the wealth around. He always speaks of our global economy. If you take a rich country such as ours used to be, and start spreading the wealth around, soon a rich country will be poor, and that is what is happening before our eyes. Actually I do believe in all the world having plenty of everything we need, but Obama and his gangster backers will not bring it about. Only God Almighty is capable of it.

Does anyone feel like our healthcare system works?  Doesn't it seem like insurance companies are more interested in collecting premiums than in paying out any claims?  It seems we need big changes.  How many millions of hard-working Americans are uninsured?  Even worse, how many are underinsured?  We've all heard the stories of hard-working middle class Americans having to file for bankruptcy and losing everything because of a medical bill.  What about you?  God forbid something were to happen and cause you to stop working for a month, two months, three months, how long would you be able to last?  My opinion is that that does not describe a system that works?

I don't know how it could be changed without having to pay more.  The healthcare tax that is currently being discussed was actually proposed by John McCain during the campaign.

About Obama, if he were to support this bill, which is actually being moved forward by Senators of both parties, he will be going against what he said on the campaign.  Each of us will have to judge that as we will.  Sometimes we all say things that we have to go back on.  That's not to excuse everything a politician might go back on.  It is important we get this healthcare thing right, though.

Those that are against this cap-and-trade thing have labeled by those that are against it as an increased tax.  I don't know enough about it to say one way or the other but beware, just because someone says something does not make it true.  I do think that the weather over the past decade or so has seemed to do some crazy things.  I'm certainly concerned about our planet if that were to continue.  Does global warming contribute to the crazy weather, I don't know, but that would be a tough one to get out of if those that don't believe it does end up being wrong.

We certainly have to watch what Obama is doing carefully and keep him on the straight and narrow, just as we would with any other politican, of any party.  He does make me hopeful though.  It seems our system has a tendency to beat people down, though, regardless of their intentions.  I agree that we should support our president.  I don't think that being against everything that he does is helpful.

Yes, gunpowder. It's just an expression from back when our forefathers used powderhorns to "keep their powder dry". In other words, be prepared. This country is traveling in totally uncharted territory. NO ONE knows how all this is going to turn out yet. It seems like they are running out of fingers to stick in the dike!

Gun powder!! Ha!! What a riot!!:D

Here's the thing, Clinton started the inflation, Bush spent way too much and Obama chose to take this on. I don't think we should feel sorry for him, it was a choice. I have to say, it takes either a really dumb soul or a really brave one to take on his position. I would stand behind him, but he is for all this other crazy stuff that I am not for. I don't know, I just pray things get better.

Someone I know used to always say, " Cheer up, it's gonna get worse".

Gotta love it....:dude:

You hit the nail on the head.   When we moved out here I  had no idea hendry county was one of or the poorest counties in Florida.  I should have done more homework.  I think it is bizarre that if your making over 50g's in this area many people  view you as wealthy.  lol!  I wish....

Did anyone actually think he was not going to have to tax us to get us out of the mess we are in the one  Bush has helped put us in?  Does anyone really think Mc Cain would be doing anything any better or different?

If I voted for him or not I will support him because he is the president of our country and he needs every bit of support he can get.  He has taken on a huge undertaking and he need's positive prayers,  and wishes.

The generally unseen problem is that  referring to taxes on X number of dollars earned per year does not represent the additional amounts we will ALL be paying due to Obama's many new policies. How about the smokers? Are they not already paying more money, regardless of their income? It's my understanding that he intends to lay taxes onto every conceivablen item you can think of, which most everybody will be paying regardless of income. Does anybody really think Obama's magnificent health care program is not going to cost every single citizen in the country more than they have been paying before? If you have a home to heat or a vehicle to drive, you will be paying increased bills because of his cap and trade program. The nuthead is going to have the entire country on it's knees before he's done.

I haven't read the article you are talking about yet, however I am planning on it.

What do you think about this statement:

" I believe that banking institutione are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banking institutions to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

--Thomas Jefferson 1802

Any thoughts??

Way to late, look up the FED.

Your money is only paper backed by military now. Got Gold?

We should all be used to broken promises by politicians by now. But it really is getting old. The system is top heavy and badly broken. Madoff's sentencing today is an example. All the peoples lives he affected. Our politicians are the ones that de-regulated the banking industry. Madoff is a scapegoat. Read Matt Taibbi's article in this months Rolling Stone. " The Great American Bubble Machine." Makes you realize just how little control the "little guy" has anymore. Or ever did for that matter.

I'm not trying to be ugly hear, but during his campaign, didn't "President" Obama promise NOT to do this.......so much for "CHANGE". Now I hear on the news that he is POSSIBLY going to pass a tax for those making less than $250,000.00 per year in order to cover his National Health Care Plan. WHAT????

Can anyone give any insight on the issue? Is he REALLY going to go back on what he said?? What kind of a "CHANGE" is that from what we've seen before?

Anyway, just asking.....

Like I said, I'm not trying to be ugly about it, I just would like to know. So, please don't go biting my head off. Afterall, it's just a question.:D
