I have just heard that Jeff and Barb are RELEASING non-native wildlife from there facility because they can't afford to feed them!
If anyone knows that this is true, please contact FWC, the Glades Co. Sheriff's office and the Caloosa Humane Society immediately!
The non-native animals that could be released from Vanishing Species could be dangerous either to people, your animals and the environment.
Don't be afraid to turn them in, you can remain anonymous

Ok, I heard that the contract didn't go thru, but that the BOCC is still looking for options on taking care of the seized livestock....

I have just looked up the BOCC agenda for this coming Tuesday's meeting at 9:30 am.
W. Taylor, who was rumored to say that the livestock handled by Glades Co. Sheriffs Office should be put down, not rehabilitated and adopted out, has drawn up a contract for the BOCC to agree to send the livestock to Vanishing Species in Palmdale for the impound period. Jeff Harrod and Barb Harrod are under investigation by the USDA and have been ordered by the courts in Davie FL. to get rid of their "big cats" by any means possible, sell, give, donate them to agencies able to provide proper care, caging and food for them!
How is it that Mr. Taylor did not know about this????
It is public record that the Harrods of Vanishing Species are still under investigation for what would be animal neglect and or cruelty!
We, all the good people of Glades County, should not allow this to happen!
I was shocked to read that Mr Taylor's contract allows Vanishing Species Jeff and Barb Harrod to "do with what they will" with the animals once the sheriffs dept. is done with them.
Well, I went searching for information........here is what I found!
The BOCC is mandated by Florida State Statutes to provide the investigating agency, here it would be Glades County Sheriff's Dept., an impound facility to house livestock taken from owners who are not caring for them and or are abusing them.
Then, the JUDGE of the county courts system would, in the hearing for 'disposition' of the livestock, order the Sheriff's Dept. to sell the animals at public auction (etc.) OR release the livestock to a humane society, adoption organization (etc.)
What is the end result of Jeff Harrod's possession of the livestock I wondered......I have heard that Jeff Harrod and Barb Harrod plan on FEEDING THE LIVESTOCK TO HIS 'BIG CATS'!!!!
We must go back to the investigation by USDA on Vanishing Species......if the courts in Davie have ordered them to get rid of their 'big cats' what did they do???? Move them to Palmdale????
We, the residents of Glades County, cannot allow this to happen! The livestock will include horses, once loved by their families, ridden by children, happily grazing in green pastures! Sorry, but that is what the sheriffs dept. will be handling! There are enough rescues that could and would help!
Please, good people of Glades County, contact your Commissioner and let them know how you feel about this outragious possibility for these poor horses and other livestock! Don't let them become food for Jeff Harrods wild life!
We need to find out what the heck is going on with this investigation, don't allow the BOCC to sign a contract without further investigation!
One other point....isn't there supposed to be a process of collecting applicants for any issue that would be under contract? I am not sure it this would be an issue, but am wondering...........
