Me and a co-worker went to the Cascada Mexican Restaurant in the plaza of My Aunt's House across from the Bass Funeral Home for lunch....I AM SO FULL!!
I would definitely love to go back and it was only like $17 for both of us, $6.99 for the buffet and then some for the drink. Very good food and the variety is endless. I couldn't try everything. I definitely have to go back and take my boyfriend, he will love it.
I am so glad you liked it. It came highly recommended from a few of my friends, I have been there at least a dozen times. Great Food, and out of the way! Bad place for a business though, I have seen 2 others close up there, we have to spread the word.
I tried this place tonight and I'm very glad I did!
The food was very tasty, the place wasn't crowded and the music (background) was pleasant and muted!
For $7.99 at an "All you can eat", this place will also be seen again!
I thought the economy was bad, but I see it isn't really. When people can afford to eat out and pay $8 for one meal and likely tip a waitress to boot, things are fine. Even if this is an occasional special treat, you're doing well.
I can feed 2 people at home for $4. Problem here, though, the waitress doesn't get tipped.
One thing I learned a long time ago, no one is going to "treat" you as well as yourself!
$ 8.00 plus isn't going to break me, and I deserve a gift now and then!
In theory, I agree with you. Puts me in mind of all the commercials that say"I'm worth it", but then I look in my purse and I have to say "Guess I'm not"

If I had to choose a place in town for the best steaks, I would choose the Speckled Perch, open tuesday-satuday 4:30 to 10:30 only open for dinner, go hungry there steaks are huge, we normally have enough to take home for breakfast for 3 people , no thats a steak and there price is reasonable 45.00 for 2 to eat including dessert.....the resturant is in the back the bar is in the front

At the clock you can have them make your eggs to order when you get the buffet. You don't have to eat the eggs they put on the buffet.
I haven't eaten at the Mexican restaurant that you are speaking of yet. Are they authentic or more Americanized?

I knew Rj's closed, but I did not know that Michael's closed as well. They has a decent variety of things to choose from. Sad really is. I knew where to go for some good Alfredo! And I kind of liked the atmosphere in there.
The only place in town that I have eaten that the food could be questionably edible is the Clock. On the other hand, I know a lot of people do like it cause it is always busy. But they are a good example that you can mess up breakfast LOL! Even with a breakfast bar! (Sorry the eggs are awful!)
When I do have to go there I tend to keep to things like a grilled ham and cheese sandwich LOL.
But on the other hand has everyone tried the new Mexican Rest. Across from Bass Funerla Home? They are wonderful, and have authentic mexican foods there, and a huge variety. Well priced, and buffet style as well.

So to those of you who have not tried this restaurant, do so. It won't disappoint!
When I lived in West Palm there was a strip joint named the Landing Strip, wonder if it's in the same place. It was right in the flight path of the planes taking off and landing on Military Trail just across from the airport runway just above 4 Points. Wonder if they are affiliated ?
I've been to both places, at the one you speak of I wouldn't eat a bag of chips

Different strokes for different folks. One may not find a particular item very good as the may find it the best they ever had. One thing for sure is, you don't have to return if you don't like it.
Its been a long time since I've been there and only for breakfast. It was great. The biggest thing I enjoyed the most was able to spend quality time with my wife in a quiet place on a weekend and watch some airplanes come in and out while I enjoyed my food.
If I don't care for the way my food is prepared, seasoned or served, I just simply don't return.
Example. I first ate at Ma's Kitchen in 1992. They served me hash browns which were equivelent to a frozen square of potatoes that you would pop in a toaster. Not my idea of hash browns. Never returned, but I know alot of people that go there and say its great. If invited to go there I opt not to and tell them to have a nice time. It may have changed since then and one day I may return but I don't expect them to change for me. Thats how they serve it. I just go somewhere else. Others may love their hash browns that way.

Most owners work nights so they can see whats going on, if you are that dis satisfied with your trip ask for a contact number for him or his partner, or for the manager on staff normally there should beone available.....

I recently ate lunch at the Landing Strip on a Saturday and had an excellent meal. The price was reasonable. The young man who served us was attentive and personable, but not intrusive. No complaints at all.

Harrie22 wrote: Yes, our homefries are deepfried but there is allways the option to have them grilled. You can have them with onions & peppers or just plain. The reason why we fry them is the lack of kitchen space and therefore the lack of grill space. Sometimes we get so busy, especially during the weekends and therefore we had to apply these policies. We stop serving breakfast at 11.00 AM during weekdays and 12.00 during the weekends.
I never mentioned our Prime Rib is equal to the ones from Outback Steakhouse; I have never tried them there and after reading this forum I will definatly try them one of these days. I will post my comments on that on this forum.
We serve both prime rib and ribeye steaks, on special, every Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun from 4pm - 8pm. Also excellent are our Steak'n Shrimp which is your choice of steak (ribeye or prime rib) and either fried butterly shrimp or a shrimp skewer with baked potato and a side salad for only $14.95.
This upcoming week we will have coconut shrimp on the menu as well. This is the first time well carry this product and I am confident it would be a hit!
Thanks for all your responses.
Harold
Thanks for the info, you may just see me there this weekend!

Yes, our homefries are deepfried but there is allways the option to have them grilled.

Harrie22,
I started this thread, as I said I will return. However I have a question.
The home fries delivered to our table were "deep fried". This is not a complaint, but is it possible to have an option to have the potatoes either pan fried or cooked on the grill?

Southern Diva,
The Landing Strip DOES NOT have a bar. Beer or wine is only allowed to be served with meals after 11 AM. The restaurant is open for dinner till 8 PM on Thursday thru Sunday.

I have heard alot about your cafe` good and bad mostly good. I have tried every prime rib in a tri-county area including here in chobee and have yet to find one that comes close to outbacks, How would you say yours compares to them.. Rare is best for me....

I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. I am Harold and I am one of the two owners. Since I basically never had complaints about our Prime Rib i feel like i have to respond.
We sell prime rib from Thursday to Sunday and sell on average 2-3 loins per day. The oldest loin you'll ever get would be max. 4 days old. If stored the right way, you wouldn't taste the difference between a new loin and a four day old loin. Our cooks are well trained in both cooking and storing our Prime Ribs.
I understand that no matter how hard you try, there will allways be someone not satisfied enough with our products and/or services. That's why I appreciate feedback from our customers. I would suggest next time to ask for a contact number/business card or anything in that nature, to speak to one of the owners/managers.
It is my responsability to make sure that every customer is getting good food, service and pricing. I am sorry that you didn't and i'll surely take the blame for that. That's why i would like to invite you one more time, on my tab, to try us out. Please introduce yourself, or call me ahead and I'll make sure you will leave satisfied and hopefully will become a more frequent customer.
Kind Regards,
Harold de Lange

I did speak with the waitress. She was not sympathetic and told me both owners were in Ft. Lauderdale. Their absence and her indifference made up my mind never to return there.

This is why i ask so many questions, I have had prime rib at, brahma bull, micheals when it was open, and to be honest they SUCKED! tasted like my 12 year old made them, Have had the rib eye at both places and they are not bad, it takes an art to know how to cook prime rib and the seasonings to use, I will try it and let you know my thoughts, we go to outback almost every sat night
