You can call 866-392-4286. That is the FWC Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program. They are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, 8am to 5pm. They will take the information from you and if the alligator meets the state nuisance criteria, then a trapper is sent to remove that alligator.
The criteria of a nusiance alligator is as follows, the alligator must be 4 foot in length, the caller must feel the alligator is a threat to thier person, pet,or property, and the caller must be able to grant legal permission to access the property. Once all of the standards are met, a permit is sent to the trapper. Once the trapper removes the alligator, they do not relocate the alligator, they harvest it (kill it) and sell it's meat.
You can find all of your information about this on the following website:
http://www.myfwc.com/gators
The alligator is not on the endangered species list but it is listed as a species of special concern. It is illegal to posess, molest, or kill and alligator. There are only certain people with the correct licenses that may handle, remove,or posess and alligator.
Check out the website. That's your one stop infomation center on alligators. They are really nice people and they are pretty efficent too.

Call the sheriff's department. Don't call Fish and Game as they won't do anything to help you out.
We had a 6 foot alligator in our yard that made our dog go crazy and it was a scene out of a movie as the dog barked and tried to nip the gator and the gator instantly jumped totally around in an instant.
Alligators are no longer on the endangered list so I DON"T think it is against the law to shoot a nu science but we finally called she sheriff's office and they sent out a deputy with a base ball bat and he jammed that bat down the gators throat and that was all ther was to that.......he turned the gator on his back taped his jaws and legs and called the trapper. Since the gator was 6 ft the trapper was going to kill him. If Fish and Game has come out it would be alive and well today. BTY this was during the time that gators were on the endangered list.
Let us know what happened.

Call Florida Fish and Game , they are the ones who govern the gators, if you have pets or kids you need to call them ASAP, a dog is a good meal for a gator...
1-866-392-4286 This is the gator hotline to get it removed
357 is a good idea if it kills your animal or is threatening you , but please remember, there is a huge fine and they can take your gun and your property if you are caught killing it so make the call first

CALL YOUR SHERRIFS DEPT MAKE A COMPLAINT. IF THE GATOR IS A NUISANCE THEY WILL CALL A LOCAL TRAPPER AND HAVE IT REMOVED. DONT MESS WITH IT OR YOU CAN BE CHARGED FOR MOLESTING A GATOR WHICH I BELIEVE IS 3RD DEGREE FELONY AND FIVE YRS IN PRISON.

I don't know the number, but look in the book for fish and game/wildlife . They have to come and get it, illegal to shoot right now I believe. Or a trapper and they charge I think.
