gosh..........that's odd.  Maybe you should try meeting with the probation department. Make like a flyer up to give to them with all your detailed information so it's there and they can't forget!

Also, a meeting with the judicial center in Okeechobee..........I am sure you can meet with someone there who can "suggest" to those that have to do community service that your place would be the place to go!

Also, while it is summer and kids are busy..........I would still contact the local churches and speak with all the youth ministers, they are pretty good at lending a hand when someone needs it!

I know some might say for liability purposes the kids can't do it..........but if you put the animals in a different area, the kids can still help clean out all the cages, wash what needs to be washed, feed and provide fresh water for all the animals.

Good luck!

p.s. Have you asked the newspaper to do a feature story on your place, with a plea for help?  You could pick one weekend and ask for help from the community.

Just trying to throw out some ideas for you.

At the humane society, they have people that come in who have to do community service, I "think" you mentioned before that your place can also do this.  Is it possible you can contact the people who do this and tell them how much you guys are in need of help?

I KNOW there are hundreds of people in town who have to do community service.

Have you tried calling around to the local churches and ask if there youth groups can dontate a couple of hours on a saturday?

So, aren't there any people in the county willing to help the dog and cat shelter. If you are out of work then why not lend a hand with the animals until a job opens up?

We need your help, please come help us to save the cats and dogs from death on the street, or euthanasia.

thank you

We are located 1203 Hwy 98N just past Okeechobee live stock market.

The volunteers at the Humane Society Pet Rescue Fl, Inc have asked me to plea for help. We are short handed on kennel cleaners. So, if you aren't afraid of a little work. Come help us keep these animals in a clean and healthy environment. Help us to save more lives of dogs and cats then come on by and sign-up to get dirty, enjoy the pets, feel good about saving animals.

The more people we have to help us then the less work there is to do, and more time to play with the dogs and cats.;)

Come see us at 1203 HWY 98N in between the live stock market and Gator feed. 863 357-1104

We do not yet have the funds to pay staff so for now this is all volunteer time. Maybe there will be a day we will have a bigger efficient building with a paid staff to help. For now we depend solely on dedicated hard working volunteers who give us the time they can spare. Thank you volunteers, Belinda Pres/Director
