Okeechobee folks are great friends and neighbors. My son was a member of the OHS class of 1994. He was killed in a wreck out on 710. At his marker I still find flowers and little gifts we haven't placed there.
It's always a good feeling when someone else remembers your loved ones by sharing a memory or leaving a token at the grave or marker.
I remember being told we keep them alive and with us here as long as someone has memories...When the memories are gone and no one is left to remember them it will be a glorious day indeed as we are all over on the other side together.
My 2 Cents

| I heard that the Class of 2009 had a yearbook for a class member who died during the school year, and at the graduation party they all "his" yearbook and they gave it to his parents.

It is always when one looses a child but the knowing that someone else remembers fills the heart.

| i buried my son 12 years ago. he was 6. he would have graduated this year. his birthday was this week. i went to the cemetery to change the flowers. someone left a small token on his grave site. it was a modest chain with a tiny class ring for 2009. no one in my circle of family or friends claims to have left it there. whoever you are, your gesture filled our hearts with old memories and put new smiles on our faces. thank you for remembering.
