ok see you are nuts, so leave all of us alone on this blog that are trying to have a mature impact on Pahokee.  What a disappointment.  Thought you really had Pahokee at heart, but all you want to do is use this blog to spu venom and nasty attitudes toward people.  I still think you are the reason we got rid of the trucks, no matter what the rest of the town says about it.  I guess we want see you at the 4th of July fireworks pushing your flower cart.  When exactly will you really be done and move away.

Wow... a kinder, gentler side emerges. Thank you. And thanks for the compliment with the truck situation. There are a lot of things many of us do top help this community and that is what we need. I still hold the wild card of running for office, in due time.

I know, you are right.  I guess I am a little uptight lately because my debit cards from SS were late and my twelve kids needed milk.  Honey, when I tell you that you were right on the mark with those stupid trucks coming through town.  Thanks for fixing that problem.  Why dont you run for council and I will get the people to vote for you.  By the way,  the twelve kids happen to be seven of my grands.  Anyway, I will try to be sweeter.  Everybody thought you had moved since you were not on the television or in the paper. or blogging about Pahokee.  Boy, you need to get yourself a scooter like the man with the vest rides around town.

Thank you for the reply.  However, if we would make the code people do their job or at least hold them accountable, then from the fines that the office takes in then we would have the money for a dump truck, more people in code, and anything else we could use.  We have to get the mayor and the council to ask the city manager, in the time he has left here to make code a priority.  They need to stop talking  about what needs to be done and get it done.  I myself, am willing to help with anything off Rardin Ave.  I feel helpless in this situation.:X

Ok,  I am now ready to see a few cars towed which have no tags and registration.  And what in the world is the deal with all these yard sales.  One on E. Main, every other week and the house across from the big two story with all the crap in the yard.  More than three in a month in a half.  Big deal on Wednesday with all three city mayors and commission.  Do not miss that.  Did you know that we are saving a good bit of money per year, by going to the PBSO.  Heard that from one of the commissioners and to me that is a great plus for Pahokee.  Keep trimming the fat please, so we can hire someone to clean up the city.  Thank you and enjoy your raises.:D  By the way, Rotary was good but we could have been a little more insightful into your plans for the city.  Also remember in a government agency, most bills are paid sixty to ninety day period, if your lucky.  Just in case you are interested.

Maybe we need to address the issue of getting another code person.  There is proof all over town that the lady can not do the job.  Maybe two people.  What is her schedule for tagging and writing the people up for bldgs. etc.  If we do not get this city looking better we will neve get anyone to move here again.  Does this code person even live in Pahokee.  If so how does her street look.  My neighborhood looks pretty bad.  I know it is not the nicest homes but there are some very nice mobile homes in town also.  Please help us in the city. My kids and yours deserve more that what we are getting with this situation.

The question of how to get this city cleaned up if we are not going to enforce code enforcement.  Everyday I go to thirfway and look at the bldg. across the street.  Why has the code man not been there to do something about it.  Or am I wrong, and he has been there but no sign has been put there yet.  Also, cars everywhere and in the park where I live we have raw sewage coming out of the ground.  On south lake you can not even get around that old gas station for all the old cars sitting in the street with no tags, flat tires, dreilict looking stuff.  Who is responsible for enforcing these things, the code person or the city council.  Or do we even have a code man? I will call the city and find out this morning.  If we do then he needs to shown what he is missing when writing down violations.  Or better yet get a new one alltogether because this place has looked a mess for years.

Very good meeting tonight. A few questions were a little strange, however the overall projection of the regional water plant sounded good.  One thing about it, we have to collect the money or the city will be bust.  No more bypassing and fiddling with the water bills.  This is something we can all be proud of in the future, and personally, I do not care who is responsible for it.:):):):):):)

Can not for the life of me where you can miscue what I say everytime.  I do not blame the new mayor for anything.  The proof will be in the pudding.  What I do not support is the constant bashing of the former council and mayor.  The ones that were not reelected in the past three elections.  Who I do point fingers at are the ones that have been up there for five, ten, plus years and have let us get to this point and continue to do nothing in regards to correcting the problem.   Shame on you for your skirting around the real question, again.   Now when you want to have an intelligent blog and tell me how to get this dump cleaned up then let me know. Also,  I pleased to hear about the fireworks, those are the things that I can take my kids to and not worry about them.  Thank you, if you were responsible for them

First of all,  I simply asked a question.  Secondly,  I did not support Sasser.  Thirdly,  I do not believe in hanging people,  that something that happened in Pahokee and the rest of the South in the fifties and sixties.  And last but not least,  you must not have much insight to how the city is run on a day to day basis.  I do not think Sasser was in charge of cleaning derelict properties and code enforcement.  Stop protecting the people in this city that do nothing but collect a paycheck.  As far as Allie Biggs is concerned.  A non entity,  votes her heart, and probably is the only one without a agenda of some sort.  If we do not act now, we may not have a city government in two years.  Try going on the tv and watching the county officials and hear what they have to say about Pahokee, since the election.  They have turned their backs on us, just like the 4th of July fireworks.  Try not to blame people who no longer in office.  As you know politicts is a thankless position and the outcome is always the same.  If you win again they love you and if you lose then they blame you for everything that has happened to them in the past thirty years.  Grow up and look at the real issue.  Pahokee looks like a neglected city where the citizens deserve more but the city is only interested in themselves.  By the way,  How does your neighborhood look these days.  Are you proud of it.  Ask for another raise and call it day on this subject.  You bore me.

And no one has answered the question about the contract for the city manager which was granted for only five months.  I certainly hope the city is already looking for a replacement.  He certainly is not planning on staying  here with the job searches that he is persuing.  Oh well another one bites the dust.

I appreciate the reply, however it was not exactly what I was expecting.  Why I am so concerned now is that the new council promised us these wonderful changes.  Now produce them and start with cleaning up the city and implementing a code that protects citizens from ones who do not take care of their property.  Example being the green trailer on Bacom Point road.  Should it not be in a trailer park.  Your attitude is why the city looks like this in the first place.  And I do not need a newsflash to tell me about the city attorney.  I was at the meeting and stated that she was not there.  Remember vote for Wayne for a change, and Diane Walker she our girl if she can not do it noone can.  Newsflash she has not and can not.  Stop boring me with lip service and start getting this town under control.  And the past is the past.  We want to see the changes.  Enjoy the raises.

another very sad meeting. attorney was not there, so no one could be corrected.  as usual no one followed procedure.  pahokee is looking pretty dismal everwhere. every street has junk out front of houses, overgrown weeds, cars in yards.  building across from thriftway that burned still there, building across from hardware, driving down bacom point you can see where the roof fell in over three years ago. pitiful,  I was hoping for a change but I think the city looks worse.  Enyou your raises

I do got to the meetings, there were 2 grants for rds & sts, those grants were redirected. The city does not provide sewer service to canal point. The grants are for installing lines to service canal point, and the area I mentioned having waste water (sewer) problems in pahokee is not included in this. Farmer one is right, most of the issues are major and will not be resolved anytime soon.

I am not trying to twist anything, nor have I said anything about Mr. Sasser, nor have I said that things are not happening. It truly is my intent not to be negative, but alas, I am only human. Each of us have a different view and opinion on these matters. Why not take the 2 negatives (so to speak) and create a positive?  Why can't we all work together (as a community) to find solutions to keep moving pahokee forward, without pointing fingers?

This is why my family moved to Clewiston, but own property in Pahokee.  You do not realize what people see when they ride through town.  Unless they are lucky to turn right at the chamber then its annie get your gun.  Until you get code in order Pahokee will always be blighted and likened to a third world county. South Bay looks better.  It does'nt matter who is running the city or who did what.  Bottom line is look at the problem and address it.  You are very weak in code or the lack there of.  Pahokee can has some good points and for the ride does, but you are missing the point.  Open your eyes and look around.  You can be poor and be clean.  Stop making excuses, and either put pressure on the officials or move.

Your really boring me now.  Street lights not poles, try rereading please.  Also as I said earlier there are alot of things that have happened in Pahokee..Twist, twist, twist the truth.  Also thank god the marina people can apply for grants through the city, since they are a team, and get things done.  Perhaps they will walk over and show someone how to do it on this side, because our people are to busy giving themselves raises and pointing fingers.  As far as the paving and sewers, here we go again, another one who does not go to the meetings and listen.  There is a grant which was applied for through the county, perhaps gas tax, and won.  The former public works together, Mr. Vaughn, included repaving the city hall, then that was removed from the grant.  You should already have seen these changes in the last  commissions tenure.  Since you assume you know so much, look at the date and the signature on the grant.  Could it be, oh perhaps, possibly that mean, ole terrible Sasser.  Go to the source, and be responsible.  One only neees to look at signatures and dates on contracts, and you will see that things have been happening in the city.  Remember my friend :)  the city got money from the county also, to update all the sewer system, because we are servicing Canal Point as well.  And try not to embarrass yourself and tell me that Wayne did that for us.  Believe it or not it was our former city manager and the staff that she had and the commission.  Anything that you want to know is all public,  try to get the facts regarding my water problems.  And yes, I do have water problem, So does everyone else.

Apparently my "grown"  babble bores you because I have struck a nerve and you can't deal with the truth. You have made the reference to money by saying, and I quote again, "When you are poor".  I have not laid blame to anyone. But you seem intent on ridiculing and belittling folks who are trying to do their best with what little we have.

I have not always agreed with the decisions made by the city. Example- code enforcement. I have on many occassions seen the city waive code enforcement fines and liens. These fines and liens could have financed other projects and repairs and helped improve the quality of our community. Everyone wants to talk tough about code enforcement, but won't walk the walk.

I have great pride in this city and have contributed in more ways than one to this city, more than you will ever know. It certianly offends me, and I am sure others also, when you belittle anyone sitting on the commission, as these people have taken time from their lives and are dedicated to see to the business and concerns of the city.

This city has made great sacrifices to develop the lakefront. Where do you think the funds are coming from? From grants, that are administered through the city. That's where all the available city funds have been going,(that and the regional water plant), thats why you haven't seen streets and sidewalks being repaired. Because the city does not have the funds to purchase the things they need to do repairs and replacements. Did you know that there is a serious infiltration problem with the sanitary sewer service and when we do get serious rain that the sewer water backs up into people's homes, in their bathtubs and sinks? Hmmm must not be happening in your neighborhood. And this has been going on for over 10 years. Maybe we should beseech the commission to redirect what little funds they do have to correct some these issues for our residents and hold off "beautifying" the lakefront till we know that we are safe from potential and serious health issues.

NEWSFLASH!

Street poles on E. Main St. - An FPl hardening project that is taking place all over South Florida.

Library - owned by PBC, and the renovations were due to severe damage from the hurricanes.

Middle school - would be under construction now if people wouldn't have objected to the first site selected, and because of that, the football field had to be relocated.

New bank - suffered damages from the storm and the old building wasn't fit to renovate.

So I say Again,  Hello neighbor, hello friend, Come, let's all WORK TOGETHER, to put Pahokee on the mend.

B KIND 2 ALL!

Grow up.  Who in the heck is talking about money and material things on this blog. I am talking about meetings, if you can call them that and situations in the city.  Put your energy into getting the grassy water motel owner to either tear it down, board it up, or at least mow the property. It is obvious around town that we do nothing to enforce code, as usual, just a bunch of rhetoric and placing blame on others.   Ms Biggs said at the last meeting that children are playing in it.  These are the material things that you think that I am worried about then, yes I am .  Get a life, or better yet, get a job and contribute to the city.  Your babble just bores me to death.  blah, blah, blah.

You say, and I quote, "what a very small person it must be to always be so negative" But yet, as I read these entries, it appears that it is you, that are so small minded and negative. You seem to be the only one belittling anyone and everyone. I have made comments on issues, and have only stated the truth..... And as I have said before, the truth hurts.

When you speak of the charm that Pahokee "had", I believe it is still here and that the true charm of Pahokee is the people. Their strength, their pride and in how they have always opened up their hearts to others and made them welcome and feel as that they are part of our home. Home, here in Pahokee. Has it not been said and true, that "Home is where the heart is"?

True happiness in life is not about a status of being rich or poor or about material things. It's about the love and respect that you share with your family, friends and neighbors.

We truly need to come together as one family, the Pahokee family, and do what each of us can do to move Pahokee forward, TOGETHER.  In these severe economic times, and our economy is failing, it will affect us all drastically in some way or another, and we will have to make sacrifices. Our Lord, God did, he's not complaining. This city is facing some tough times with hard decisions, and we need to stand TOGETHER. I would sacrifice the prince theatre to continue the development of the lakefront. These are the type of decisions we as a city are going to have to make and in the very near future. We have to be realistic, and decide what will truly be beneficial and in the best interest of all us.

So I say, Hello Neighbor, Hello Friend. Come, let's all work together, to put Pahokee on the mend.

Please remember,  B kind 2 all!

Thank you Pahokee can, for reminding us of the workshop last night regarding the marina contract.  What a display of uninformed rhetoric that went on for thirty minutes the mayor.  Very sad.  Thank goodness for Mr. Crawford and Ms Biggs and Mr. Babb for paying attention at all the meetings regarding the marina and the lease with the state.  And then there sat Walker, looking as though she was a deer in the headlights.  Where was she during all the meetings regarding the marina.  In the back audience bad mouthing everyone and everything.  And Mr. Davis went home pratically in tears. Boo hoo hoo.

For the ride, Pahokee can,  old men, poor folks, and on and on and on.  To all of you out there reading and watching, listening to gossip and hearsay off the streets, listen up.  Lets see what the new commish has up their sleeve for the coming years. Yes the city needs help,  just look around.  As someone said before it takes baby steps.  I have heard that the mayor was uninformed of the city financials,  projects, etc.  Thats his problem.  Should have asked for a copy of the balanced budget before you ran for the position.  Sasse is out, and  I dont think he is crying much about it, unless he is crying over the fact that he doesnt get to ride his new Harley, when it rains.  But back to the moment, listen to all this crap which is posted on this site.  Most a bunch of babbling and jealous people trying to keep everyone stirred up over things that are not going to change anytime soon.  I liked the idea of city hall meeting.  I would like to say we are lucky to have Mr. crawford running the meetings if what for the ride said is true.  Perhaps he could sit in the middle chair.  Appears that no one really knows what is truth of fiction except for him

Why not call Merrill Lynch and ask yourself.  Or better yet, ask Wayne,  he thought that they were having financial problems.. Newsflash,  that was Bear Stearns, and while I am at it ,  its HABITAT FOR HUMANITY,  NOT HABITAT FOR HUMANA,  REMEMBER FOLKS ITS ALL TELEVISED AND ON TAPE.

Just a clarification,  since I was at the meeting,  Sasser only gave a background on the old highschool.  I would personally think that any dealings with Merrill Lynch would have been through the manager and the attorney.  I rest real good at night knowing that Wayne, as you call him has everything under control. Remember, anyone who wants to really find out what has taken place only needs to ask for a tape of the meetings.  Be a man and stop blaming others for your own insecurities.  We will see in a few months, if the city is better off.  As for the marina,  give them the rest of the city as well,  I thought it looked pretty good up there.  I took my kids up there and got into the pool  the other day.  I was not going to write on these things anymore,  but ignorance is so forthcoming that I need a good laugh.
