| Perhaps I am wrong, but is there not a new stadium being built. What about a new library, middle school. a health clinic, a new bank, new street lights from Canal Point through downtown. Just a few of the things that I notice, but I realize that many take those things for granted. When you are poor, you appreciate a health clinic and dental services.. I will not log on to these sites ever again, because something which I thought was important was again turned into a negative. What a very small person it must be to always negative. The money that was allotted to the comm. could have gone for the picnic, but again that was just a front to attack everyone in the city that cares.

Where is merryl lynch? How long ago did they make that "agreement"? was it in writing? or verbal? When are they suppose to start? In all actuality it would cost more to make the old high school "usuable & safe" than it would to tear it down and build a new facility. Request the city to have it inspected by a structural engineer, and remember to get a second opinion.
I do not think the people realize the true condition of those buildings. Have you been inside one of them lately? Maybe you should.
Currently, the prince theatre is my personal opinion is a serious health threat. The building is full of mold and mildew, and God knows what else. There is no roof, so when there is rain it only makes it worse. Mold produces airborne spores. Hmmm airborne, and a day care just a block or so away, not to mention that every citizen goes by that building at least once a day. And let's not forget how close it is to the water plant. Your worried about water that meets state requirements, you should be worried how the city is going to pay for their part in the regional water plant.
Your pocket or mine?
Change is hard, and like the truth, it hurts. Call it growing pains if you will. The citizens have been "without" for the last 7 years. No streets repaired, no sidewalks fixed, no street lights. The only change in town in 7 years, is the marina/lakefront, that the citizens can not even enjoy.
Like I said, Growing Pains.

I urge all citizens to attend the city council meetings, especially after what I witnessed last night. Vice mayor Babb, in the workshop for raises, for the council that is, wants comm. to recieve 800.00 a month and the mayor a 1000.00 But imediately a 300.00 a month allowance for each one of them. And we cant, even drink our water. Also, thank goodness, the former Mayor, was in attendance. The old highschool and the prince theatre were put on the table for discussion by the mayor, Whitaker. He said that the buildings needed to be bulldozed and Babb agreed. Then the rest of the council agreed. But Sasser stood up and reminded everyone that Merryl Lynch made an agreement with the city to refurbish and use the building for classrooms and office space, thus letting us keep and already historic bldg. All I can say is that you all wanted a change. Well it looks like we are in for a big one. Adios, to Pahokee and any charm that it had. I can only wish that I could go back and change my vote.
