McBush....LOL.... Love it..... I totally agree with you Ben Franklin and the sad part of this election is that his own party (die hard conservatives) thought his choice of Ms Palin was a total disaster.  One of these die hards had to back pedal because she was caught on an open mike callling this a F@@@ disaster for the party!  So what goes on behind closed doors is troubling for sure.  This so called Maverick image is a frappeing JOKE.  He can't take his nose out of Bush's butt and as far as his level of intelligence goes Remember he was at the bottom of of his class at the Naval Academy and a damn trouble maker with an attitude.

You won't see any of these far right conservatives come back with anything McBush has to offer this country considering more of the same and maybe TWELVE YRS OF FAILURES.   Lets all have a Pity Party for McBush!  I'm sick and tired of hearing about his POW status.  That was then and these far right fear mongers have about run their mouths enough with NO SUBSTANCE.  THEY OFFER NOTHING ABOUT REAL ISSUES AND WITH MS PALIN ON THE TICKET IT WILL GET DOWN TO EARTH SOON ENOUGH WHEN SHE IS ASKED SOME REAL QUESTIONS ABOUT HER CREDENTIALS FOR BEING VP...... ONE heartbeat away makes me wonder how stupid McBush really is and they know they are in serious trouble.  Obama will clean house with him in the upcoming debates and Ms Palin better get her act together when she goes against JOE.......

Heres the proof of McCains and the neo cons plans to invade Iran from his own mouth last night

‘I’m not afraid’ of threats to U.S.
Turning to foreign affairs, an arena in which Republicans say he is vastly more qualified than Obama, McCain called Iran “the chief state sponsor of terrorism” and accused Moscow of harboring ambitions of “reassembling the Russian empire.”

BOTH OF THESE STATMENTS ARE NEOCON LIES! There is as much proof Iran is a sponsor terrorism as there is for WMD's in Iraq. It was Georgia sponsored by the USof A and Israel who attacked Russia not the other way around.

Now we have Cheney over in the Ukraine telling them america has a vested interests in that countries freedom and security. Does anyone out there care a bit about the Ukraine? If so why? Why should any american pay for the Ukraines saftey? Thats their issue not mine and I am sick and tired of having tax money taken from me and given to other countries so some politicians can play empire.

Why did the reporter get arrested? Filiming brutality by the cops?

I would call that suppresion of the freedom of the press. Like I keep saying one party two factions

While I dont agree totally with obama I see McCain as nothing more than a contituation of the chiken hawk mentality. McBush is NOT a war heor hes an incompetant pilot who crashed 6 mulitimillion dollar jets that basically fly them selves. If he had not crashed he would not have been captured. then we have to consider the character of a person who cooperates with his captures. That is from other POWs in the camp. then when he gets home he leaves his wife ON HER DEATH BED for the bigger better deal of the heiress. That means he BROKE AN OATH TO GOD. "Till death do us part" He is an incompetant oath breaking chicken hawk who no doubt will start a war with Iran which will drag Russian and China into war. Viola WW3. Voting for McBush will be more of the same escalating into your kids dying so the oil companies can continue to make billions a quarter

Regardless of the numbers arrested at the DNC, the 600 plus arrests at the RNC proved one thing, the people are fed up with business as usual and the conservative party with the likes of John McCain, Rudy, Romney etc etc etc....... The party is over and now Ms Palin has to answer questions..... McCain's gave a terrible speech last night and its to bad......

Larry Kane Live had the best analogy of the McCain performance.....  FAILURE on all sides.  Seems FOX has issues with people conveying honest views when it comes to the RNC failures.  Not once did they address ISSUES.  WHY?  Because they can't address them because in Ronald Reagan's own words:  Ask yourself if your better off today than you  were eight years ago!   80 percent of Americans say NO.  I guess John McCain just DON'T GET IT.  Interesting point is nobody on this board can come back with anything positive for the last eight years of failures.  Amazing how we seem to forget failure when your blind sighted on conservative views.  The rich get richer and then you trickle down penny's to the less fortunate.  VOODOO ECONOMICS a real trade mark on the conservative party.

Last night Sara Palin mocked Obama on those community organizing issues.  You have to wonder if this party will ever "get it" about whats wrong with this country.  All over this country people are involve in community organizations to help others and with the last eight years of economic failures, these community organizers are helping save peoples lives so they don't lose jobs, homes, health issues, and other grass roots issues.  So when you say a man is not qualified for the job of President and you are it makes me wonder how a small town mayor and Governor with limited experience beyond her small world in Alaska is walking the walk and talking the talk on the big picture with real world issues.  Obama has been involved at both levels and communicates that very well.  Let the debates begin.  BTW.... The republican party will be keeping Sara Palin away from the press as much as possible and this will bite them in the end.  They wanted her, so let her be exposed to real issues and the reality of a real campaign.  Show no mercy to this so called pit bull with lip stick.... take her down...... LOL  :D

Economic issues are not the main issue with the RNC right now.  They have to keep that topic off-topic for now.  They need a diversion for the time being but in due time it will be front and center.  The war in Iraq and the Commander and Chief issues are just a head fake for the RNC to keep the attention off the economy.  The issue of Obama not being qualified is a moot point with no merit.  The man is far more in tune to the real issues and to be honest with you, he's more intelligent when it comes to those issues.  McCain can run some interference with the woman card but its going to be a real problem for him come November.

Sara Palin brings nothing to the ticket except some hype to take the attention off the real issues.  Sooner or later they will debate and she will be taken down.

Well I'm waiting for the conservative clowns to talk about the economy.  So far they have accomplished nothing.  I already knew all about McCain's POW status and his service to our country.  Palin don't impress me and I seen the Campbell Brown interview which was rather interesting considering the man never gave an answer.  He couldn't answer her and nobody else can either....  Maybe they can talk about the Ten Trillion dollar national debt and lets not forget the 56 billion dollar trade deficit........ The trade deficit has doubled on Bushes WATCH....   Greal Leadership for sure.......  REALITY RULES

Wonder why Tucker Bounds can't answer the question?  The Gov of Alaska doesn't make foreign policy decisions as National Guard Commander...... Tucker Bounds is just following the McCain doctrine of spin crap to defend a real bad choice for Vice President.   ONE HEART BEAT away from the Presidency....... I guess this Alaskan Hockey MOM must be a military genius !!!!  Did I miss something with the interview?  CNN had to pull the interview because McCain couldn't handle the truth and all Campbell Brown did was ask a legitimate question..... :)

Clinton's operating budget at least was balanced and with a surplus when he left office.  The Dems had to support the war without any other recourse for action.  They have a House Speaker who is a complete IDIOT and between the select few who really care nothing will ever get done.

The 750 Billion dollar war is another story.  This will be debated for years to come on whether or not it was justified on Bush's watch.  You have to really dig deep to show me any positives this man has accomplished while in office because all his failures have cost this country a lot of misery and increased our debt to levels of unattainability for future generations.   Who ever gets elected this go around will inherit a nightmare and thats hard to imagine how we let ourselves be taken to the cleaners for all this debt.

It's funny how we tend to change our tones when others speak the truth.  All of a sudden the rightwing closet boys come out in full force to defend the less fortunate and yet they forget the standard set with Katrina with George Bush and company!  Millions of dollars worth of supplies never used and then given away to other states when it was all sent for Katrina victims.  Failure after failure is never forgotten.  I tell it like it is and if you ask those people in New Orleans what they think about the Republicans in charge you will get same comeback about their ethics and politics.

On another note of surprise you may have heard all about Gov. Palin's 17 yr old daughter being pregnant.  I wonder how FOX news will spin this all considering their man Sen. McCain is scratching his head now about those conservative values hitting home again.  It's not off limits for me or anyone else to talk about it because I've heard enough about conservative values lately with their holy then thou ways for the family.  It gets real old afterwhile...............  :D:D:D:D:D

How despicable can one person get to make such a statement?  Little smiley face does not negate the ignorance of the comment.

Three years ago the DemonRat Mayor of New Orleans, the DemonRat Governor of Louisiana and The DemonRat Senator from said state REFUSED, I repeat REFUSED, the profferred assistance from the Federal Government prior to the storm.

It was a local and state issue prior to the storm and the local and state officials did NOTHING --- and then turn around and blame Gush?

Mississippi took the direct hit of the dirty side of Katrina, folks there weren't whining, their local and state folks  told them to get out well in advance.  When they went back they rebuilt, they didn't cry for help or blame the Bush Administration.

The major problems of flooding in New Orleans did not come from the hurricane.  The flooding came from breaks in the levees that had been neglected because of decades of political corruption in that city --- DEMOCRAT corruption.

Of course all of this will just fly over the heads of all you leftwing, koolaid rinking, BDS sufferers.

Hmmm..... Don't see how it compares to Clinton's eight years.  Big difference here with the biggest difference the 5 trillion added to the debt.  Then again we can use the fuzzy math of the Bush administration:D

Why don't you just think about this before you go pull the levers for those right wing nut cases trying to use fear tactics to convince you to vote their party line.

WHAT HAVE REPUBLICANS DONE IN EIGHT YEARS?

ADDED FIVE TRILLION MORE DOLLARS TO OUR DEBT.  (Conservatism right?)

FAILED ECONOMY BASED ON CREATIVE LOAN SCHEMES.

CREDIT CARD DEBT OUT OF CONTROL.

MORTGAGE MELTDOWNS based on getting over FIVE million families in homes they could not afford.

CATERED TO WALL STREET PUNDITS OF GREED.  (Bailouts)

INCREASED BANK FAILURES.

That would be a first for a Republican to show any compassion for the less fortunate and what they do now as party is meaningless.  Eight years of negative behavior toward the less fortunate has been planted in the minds of those who endured the pain of Republicans in charge.  Saving themselves now is to late in the game of politics.  We have an old man who should be retired running for the highest office in the country and a woman who his being investigated for abuse of power after taking office as governor of Alaska.  She fits right in with the Bush crowd considering he has no respect for the law either.  :)

I would hope that it is a display to the American people that they have learned from the mistakes of the past. Probably not though. The fact of the matter is that it is just that. nothing but display...from both sides. What exactly are any of them going to do that could not be accomplished via telecommunications. Are they going to bring their buckets and roll the sleeves up on their nicely pressed long sleeve blue shirts? I don't think so. It's unfortunate what keeps happening to the coastal areas of the southern part of the country but I sincerily believe that the convention is irrelevant from the perspective in which the (once again) media portray it to be. but thats another story. If they feel they need to delay their little convention to help out with the storm then I expect them to bring their toolbox and go to work on those levies while there is still a few hours to do so.

Look at Jimmy Carters Rank (59th), it is obviously no judge of future ability.  I didn't know that Obama was in a military academy?

Well if you look at John McCain's class ranking you can see where he stood in his class at the Naval Academy.  He was ranked #894 out of 899 which leaves him at the bottom of his class.  Obama's record speaks for itself and no negatives.

According to Wikipedia, his class rank at the U.S. Naval Academy was 894 out of 899. In other words, fifth from the bottom.

Bottom line this election.  McCain admits he doesn't have a clue about economics and now we have a Messiah from Alaska Ms Palin coming on to the scene with her Hockey Mom credentials.   If you fall for a cheap political game like that, then you deserve four more years of BUSHISM.  FAILURE is not an option this time around..... think hard and vote your gut feeling...

I think she is more than today's politics can handle.  Glenn Beck had her on a call in show a month or so ago.  She and her husband gave their 12 year old son a rifle for his birthday.  Seems it ticked off the local group of soccer moms who thought it was not very vanilla of them to do that.

It didn't seem to affect her or her husband very much.  He is a commercial fisherman by the way.  They are a bad lot these days.  "Big Fish" you know.  They are right there with "Big Oil".

OOPS - I thought I had.

That is one of the reasons she is being attacked, if not the MAIN reason.   Remember, she has taken on the heirarchy and corruption of the Alaskan Republican party, and just like Ds, Rs do not like their own being taken down - especially by someone who is supposedly one of them.

With no help or support from the Alaska Republican Party she beat the incumbent governor in a primary, and went on to beat a former Dem governor in the election --- again with absolutely not help or support from the ARP.  This contrast's mightily with Obama winning his initial state Senate seat by getting a Cook county Judge to invalidate his opponent's candidacy.

I don't care what letter is behind his/her name on a ballot, I like that kind of moxie.

There aren't too many politicians in Delaware I can credit with having such moxie to topple an incumbent in such a fair and straight forward manner.  Joe Biden just happens to be one of them.  Of course that was 36 years ago..........and he had the backing of his party.

Alaska legislators on Monday voted to spend up to $100,000 to investigate Gov. Sarah Palin’s controversial firing of former state Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan. The decision came from the Legislative Council, a bipartisan panel of state senators and representatives.
The committee itself will not conduct the probe. Rather, it will hire an independent investigator to explore whether Palin, her family or members of her administration pressured Monegan to fire an Alaska state trooper involved in a rough divorce from Palin’s sister.
Monegan contends he did feel such pressure, and the question for the investigator will be whether Monegan might have lost his job for failing to dismiss trooper Mike Wooten.
Palin has denied applying any pressure or otherwise abusing her power as governor.
Palin abruptly fired Monegan on July 11 and later explained she wanted to take the Department of Public Safety in a different, more energetic direction. She replaced him with Chuck Kopp, the former Kenai police chief. But Kopp resigned Friday over questions about a reprimand he received after a sexual harassment complaint lodged against him in Kenai.
On Monday, the council voted 12-0 to spend up to $100,000 “to investigate the circumstances and events surrounding the termination of former Public Safety Commissioner Monegan, and potential abuses of power and/or improper actions by members of the executive branch.”

Legends -

You forgot one very crucial point, well actually more than one -------- this did NOT happen this week and Gov Palin told them to "bring it on,"  in regard to her firing the head honcho.

The original events that initiated the complaints by Palin and her husband occurred before she even decided to enter the governor's race.

I am usually a RAH-RAH supporter of law enforcement officers (LEO's) but I sure as heck will not defend an LEO who uses a taser on his 11 year old stepson, an offense to which Wooten admitted.  If that doesn't justify more than a 5 day suspension, than I do not have any clue what would.  Maybe consuming alcohol while in uniform?  How about consuming said while in a LE vehcile while on duty?  How about threatening the life of your father-in-law, on tape?

This is not new news, it has really only made national attention because of McCain's announcement yesterday.   I know many a LEO who, like me, was well aware of this some time ago, and even many of the diehard Dems among them side with Palin.

Geez --- sounds like McCain maybe had better have his short list at the ready to be able to offer the vp position to Ms. Palin's replacement.    McCain's trusted researchers who were charged with vetting potential selectees has failed him miserably, it would seem.    Sad.    This isn't going to go away.

PTG.... Bottom line for this election will be OBAMA in 2008.  We agree on nothing and this is good.   Makes for some very interesting views.  I do think I'm usually right and your wrong.  It's that conservative wisdom you seem to project here and it makes my day.  I'm glad your here!  Fred even keeps you in check.  :D
