Something for everyone:

Today, Barack Obama is hope for a better tomorrow for all Americans. He stands on the shoulders of all those people who have incessantly prayed for a day when "justice will run down like waters and righteousness as a mighty stream" (Amos 5:24).

Peggy Wallace Kennedy

Yep, that's the daughter of George Wallace.

Moreover, I believe that the opposition has grown far too comfortable thinking the American people HAVE to accept their Karl Rove America. I suspect that they won't have too much to contribute the next 20 or so years. What are they going to do when Electing Obama actually does prove to be the changing point in this government. What will their response to that be? Will they acknowlege their selfishness in regards to who gets a working government and who does not? The answer is absolutely NO because it is their media that has caused it and freedom of speech has been turned into  a disgrace by fatcat lawyers who couldn't cut it in their own field and went to work for the media instead.

What's interesting is that the McCain campaign is trying to make something of this. Maybe they gave the L.A. Times the tape on condition of confidentiality and they are waiting to recoop some of their campaign expenses by suing them if they violate the agreement.

Have you heard the boys in the locker room showers at the Naval Academy made sure they held onto their soap when McBush was in the showers?  ;)

I can't help thinking there  is going to be something that comes out hours before the election time starts in November about Obama.

Has any one heard the rumor about Obama having his whole record ex sponged during his college years

You really are a piece of work. You flood the blogs, not just this one with your bile. I'm sure all of those who are voting for McCain are just thrilled to have you in there as such an ardent advocate. I'm sure they would all be comfortable having someone like you in their presence talking like this.

You don't have to worry about being hypnotized or falling off a cliff. There is nothing more that anyone can do to you beyond that which you have already done to yourself.

Even now , Mike Murphy can not help John McCain turn his campaign around . Mike is giving free advice on TV , but Steve Schmidt has John McCain's ear . Barack can thank Bill Clinton for helping him win the primaries . And thank Steve Schmidt for keeping Mike Murphy out of the McCain campaign so Barack can win the presidency . But the biggest helpers are un-named . Those that forced the economic decline before the election . They felt , correctly so , that a Bush led effort would help them now  with more cash than a democrat president later .

During the Democratic primary, Sen. Barack Obama made a crucial decision to appeal to his party’s most liberal base: He embraced the idea of giving driver’s licenses to any illegal immigrant who wanted one. Hillary Clinton opposed the idea. She believed she could not win the general election taking such a position. Now, if a Republican group has its way, Obama will suffer defeat at the polls for supporting such a program.

Not if they don't try to suppres the vote. If they are, of course you would.

The problem isn't keeping legitimate felons off; it is the attempts to discourage by any means necessary those who do have the right to vote.

But, hey....here is a story that the government is taking fradulant voter registrations seriously...

Before Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama he gave a scathing criticism of the McCain campaign , but not of John McCain himself . At this point his endorsement may not carry much weight or change many minds , and it is risky to his legacy . I think he is willing to step out and speak because he actually puts country first .

Check your record books again Fred, the second largest denomination in the US is not fallen away Catholics.

BTW let's compare how many threads I've started on this forum, vs how many Fred has started.  It's easy to do.  just go to the members page.

Fred wrote:

What I don't understand is that it certainly you would agree that, especially considering that the second largest "denomination" in the United States would be former Catholics, it would be more "convenient" to do as they have and simply change religions?

But that, of course, would mean that you would have to come up with another talking point...and I know you aren't due for another one for another year or two.

Fear and loathing seems to be everywhere. I would love to see all the religious organizations lose their tax exempt status. Most seem to be hell bent on politicizing their missions.

It's an abortion Friday!

Abortion came up as a topic during the last debate and Obama flat out lied about his vote from when he was a State Senator in Illinois. Professor Robert George from Princeton University joined Glenn today to explain why Obama's abortion stance is one of the farthest left he's ever heard. Check out their conversation and read this article by Professor George which has one of the best explanations of why the 'pro choice' label is one of the biggest political spins of all time. Read the transcript.

Government employees really have no say in this as they have no knowlege of this.  Employees of private businesses do have more knowlege.  And without a doubt small business owners know far more than either of the above categories.

As a business owner I expect to pay a certain amount of taxes to the government, however I do not expect to be penalized by that same government if I actually make a go of my business and can afford to hire employees.  I can only hire people if I am making money, but if I am making money and the government starts charging me more for my success I won't be able to afford to hire anyone else.

What part of this do you people not understand?

How much do you earn through your business. Before I accept you as an authority, I would like to know your bona fides.

I was able to use it twice in our lives when my company moved us and I had a huge income surge on paper.  The problem Hab is that the deduction is best for the lower middle with tons of kids and deductions or the top middle with too much house.

Then I'm either doing something right, or I'm doing something wrong -- I'm more inclined to think the former --because I have never taken a mortgage deduction on my taxes.  The standard deductions have always been more than anything I could come up with for the rest of the stuff.

All kidding aside, I'm perfectly happy.  I'm obviously not paying more than I can afford, yet I have all the house I need or want, and we all know there is a difference between the two.
