That's not racism, that's just wrong.  Why do you always have to play the race card?  Didn't you learn anything from MLK Jr. and what he tried to teach us?

Yeah, I'm guilty. Several guys beating up someone because of the race of the person they dated - what was I thinking? I guess I was distracted by thought of all that money you have and how I would get to spend it.

Is the preacher a racist because he admonished the guy to stay with his own kind?  Maybe but Boo did not know the preacher, or at least he did not mention it. Dislike for race mixing is not exclusive to whites.  Blacks do not like it either.  Why is anyone a racist because he defends his own race, black or white?  Remember what Cecil Rhodes attempted.

No one should have to defend any race. I tend to see us all as belonging to the human race. I only responded on this topic because of the list that was printed and the explanation that was given for what it meant.

As to who was the racist in the story - take your pick.

Gallup poll did the survey and it was posted during the W2K scare days. I looked for the poll so I could copy and paste but was unable to find it. I quess it is not politically correct now.

The terms come from my memory but the results are as I remember them. At the time I remember a lot of critizism because they only allowed 3 races to be used and did not include others like latino. It recieved quite a bit of critizism back them which is why I quess they took it off the web.

I posted it to show there are some who have other agendas and may have hidden views. In this case the discussion could have been one sided. Personally I think to each his own regardless of color of skin. Somehow we must get past color and move toward true equality.

Let me start off by saying, that if we are going to bring quotes from the bible and God into this,  WE are all God's children!  In God's eyes he loves us all the same.  He does not love one color more then the other, Why should we?  The bible is a book of STORIES.  Rewritten by many different people from different languages!  What happened to your friend happened years ago.  My point is that we should all be working towards making a world without racism.  Too many people have already been victims of racist acts, why should we allow this to carry on through our children?

Who conducted the poll? Who did they interview? Does this list appear sexist and racist to you? It could have been done at the annual convention of white, lesbian, Nazis who want the right to own slaves.

Race category of most wanted in the world

1 - Cacausian women

2 - Black men

3 - Oriental women

4 - cacausian men

5 - Oriental men

6 - black women

As you can see black women are the least wanted in the world. It is no wonder they are trying to undermind black men and make it seem "bad" to date white women. How many black women are starting to dress and appear like thier white counterparts? In this date and age we should be concentrating on character and not the color of the skin. The old adages have been proven false many times over.

This listing is racist and sexist. Where does it come from?

This morning while in the car, i tuned in to a radio broadcast on Kiss 101.7. The topic of discussion was interracial relationships and why black men date white women. The author of a recently published book was speaking with Wendy Williams. I found the discussion to be extremely offensive and so i called in when they requested to hear from a white woman. Unfortunately, I was not put on the air and allowed to voice my opinion. I have composed and sent the following in an email to Russ Parr, another Dj for the station.  However, I think it is important that we do our part in eliminating offensive racial conversation.  Therefore, I am requesting that this be posted as an editorial in your newspaper.

Dear Russ Parr,

I am writing in reference to a broadcast that aired 8/02 around 11:30 am with Wendy Williams.  The topic of conversation was interracial relationships and the reasons why BLACK men date WHITE women.  I unfortunately was unable to speak on this topic.  However I have a strong opinion on this subject.

Allow me to begin by saying that I am a white woman that dates black men.  Ms. Williams and the author of the book they were promoting had many views on the situation, which I find a little odd since they both stated that neither one of them have ever dated outside their race.  Ms. Williams made a few very bold statements and I could tell the topic was not one of her favorites, In fact, she reminded me of the women portrayed in the movie "Jungle Fever".

Now with that said, one caller stated that she was the proud Mother of a 29 year old BLACK male who would never date a white woman.  My question to this mother is, how do you know for sure that he has not already?  I know many black men who hide the fact that they are interested in WHITE women because of the reactions their friends and family may have.  This is not to say that white women do not act in the same way.

My point is that it is 2008, and here we are still focusing on the color of someone’s skin.  How many people in the black culture or black history spent their entire lives on working to make this world about more than the color of someone's skin?  Dr. Martin Luther King J.R.  died for this purpose.   I would like to remind Ms. Williams and the callers and listeners who sided with her opinion of Dr. King's legendary "I have a dream" speech -   "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”  And yet today on the radio I hear a black man and black woman not only judging white women but black men as well based solely on the color of their skin.

One statement made by Ms. Williams that I found to be particularly offensive was that all black men that date white women are weak.  She went on to say that the reason they choose white women is because white women will lie down and allow the black man to walk all over them.  Here are a few examples of strong black men who have committed to an interracial relationship with a strong white woman:  Frederick Douglass, Montel Williams, Seal, Taye Diggs, and Tiger Woods.  The attraction between two people should be based on character, values, and common goals, not the color of their skin; and the color of your skin does not determine how strong or weak you are.

If we truly are sincere in our quest for total equality and equal rights and consideration, voices that express racist views and opinions should not be heard.  Conversations such as the one broadcast today only add fuel to the fire of racism and promote the hate and anger felt by parties on both sides of the issue.

In conclusion, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that", a quote from the late Dr. King!
