Hooray for the firefighters. That's all I have to say about that.

She'll get voted in because she is the President's pick, she is qualified, and she has not made a lot of controversial statements or decisions. Whether that is right or not isn't the point; the other issues some have tried to raise will have no real impact on the vote.
We can agree she'll get voted in because there are enough forelock-tugging Democrats to do it. Being the "president's pick" means squat in a balanced Congress and claiming she is qualified and has not made any controversial statements or decisions is simply ludicrous. Even the recent USSC overruling was a testament to her incompetence when the liberal, dissenting side of the decision took her to task for poor legal practices.
But, again, I agree, she'll get in. We have a Senate now [with the Saturday Night comic] which is filibuster proof so more such egregious acts can be expected going forward. We can only hope putting an incompetent racist on the Supreme Court will be their worst transgression.

I don't think there is a Republican in the Senate with stones enough to call her out. However, I think there are one or two Democrats with a Conservative bent who just might.

No, this SC decision would do nothoing to harm Judge Sotomayor except that it would give Republicans and conservatives a basis for asking difficult questions. That being said, barring some unforseen calamity, there are sufficient votes for confirmation. HB's illustration of what a majority can do serves as a prime example of majority power.

| No, this won't derail her. If Congress can vote on bills that aren't even there at the time of the vote [cap and trade] or rush through trillion dollar pork bills that then lay around while the economy goes deeper in the hole, they will surely find a way to get this racist representative of the Obama posse on to the Supreme Court.

Moreover. . . is this a blow to affirmative action?

The Supreme Court that this lady is trying to join threw a wrench into her plans today.
