Anyone up for a trip to Mexico? We'll march around with signs claiming discrimination, plaster our rear car windows with "Viva Yankee" bumper stickers and picket various law enforcement buildings. We'll need to depart on July 2nd. We'll need a good supply of all- American whiskey and beer, Jack Daniels and Miller or Budwiser should do. We'll pick a well traveled main street and all race up and down it on July 4th drunk shouting "George Washington and We Whooped your tails in (18)"48!" To make this adventure worth it, we would need to offer a sizable prize for any of us who could reach American soil without using any I.D. on July 5th, say free healthcare for life or $100,000 in public benefits. If a 1,000 of us participated 1 or 2 should be able to claim the prize. Sadly only a portion of us would arrive on U.S. soil in Pine boxes whole or in parts; the others? It would be an experiment to see if the road runs both ways.

Most of the money that these Illegal Aliens receive is not all state money. $330 Billion a year from a combined forms of all United States Governments
( federal, state, local, city, township ) . These people know how to play the system and they do it really well. It is probably a class the Mexican government provides to them along with how to cross the border 101.
It is very unfortunately that we as the tax payers will have to pay for it.

Why does our governor want to raise the sales tax BEFORE stopping any benefits to illegals? If our state government had the brass to stop catering to illegals we would not need an increase!

I don't see this country doing anything about Illegal aliens coming here. Whether it be Democrats, Republicans, Independents, None of the parties are going to do anything. Illegal aliens has been a problem in this country for too many years and everyone blames the other for it. It's time to say that it is a problem, and something must be done now.

This is a problem that only the United States Citizens can do something about. We must stop the free ride these people are getting from our tax dollars.

1) If you suspect that you neighbor is a family of Illegals ( I don't mean because you don't like them. There are signs which you can see, to tell you if they are illegals or not ) ....... call Sheriff Joe and ICE.
2) If you suspect one of the worker you work with is an Illegal ......... call Sheriff Joe and ICE.
3) If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it probably is a duck.

I'm not saying that racial profiling is the answer, but it might be the start. Volunteers are always needed at the border. People are always needed at any type demonstration where illegal aliens might have a protest for their rights. Which by the way you have to an U.S. Citizen to have U.S. Citizens rights.

And as always SUPPORT ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY WHO IS HELPING TO STOP THE FLOW OF ILLEGALS INTO THIS COUNTRY.

GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Just remember exactly who is in which corner. Republicans have used the immigration issue to scare people, but the fact is they had the power of the presidency and both houses of Congress for six years, and did NOTHING about immigration. The reason?  Repubs are supported by the money from business - all business, large and small. And what business wants more than anything else is the maximum amount of cheap, exploitable labor - and illegal is the best, because it's the MOST exploitable. Hire illegals, and you don't have to worry about minimum wage, benefits, workplace safety, etc. Republicans will never do anything to stop the flow of this labor. That's why it's the business community who is so upset about AZ's effort to punish employers. Don't listen to their "get tough" talk - it's empty rhetoric. We need immigration reform, period. We won't get it from them.

It's Joe vs Gordan: In one corner stands the Sheriff, fulfilling his oath to uphold
the law and all laws period. In the other corner stands the Mayor with big business on his back whining about how Joe and his program are killing them. Standing with the Mayor is the high priced think tank, including the big bizz media, conjuring up ways to attack Joe's policies and sway public opinion. But, throughout political history it's always been big bizz vs the general population. After all, we've proven to often to be sheep which can be controlled thru a restricted diet.

I hardly ever agree with Dave's point of view, but he is right . . . . your post make you appear ignorant.  All Christians are bad because of your internalization of what, a mental problem.  But with all illegal immigrants, it is OK for them to break our laws (that is the illegal part of illegal immigrant), tap the public taxes, collect social security that they haven't paid in to, and we should look the other way.

Do you know how cruel you sounded with that anti-Christian statement.  They have laws to deal with illegal immigrants, now if they only had laws to deal with self-righteous idiots which is much worse than being sarcastically silly!

I think I had a similar dream one night. The true feelings of the American were being addressed, adjective free, using solid nouns and verbs.

The subject of drilling in Alaska came up, but to many of us old timers without memory problems, we did this once before. There was the standard political soapboxing about what a grand pipeline would do for the lower 48. All of the national media outlets (news stations and paper publications) all beat their gums in the standard fashion of "hoop-ta-la" stretching a simple statement into several paragraphs evading any of the real details such as who was in charge, who are the greedy sob's behind the grand scheme, does loading oil onto ships registered in the lower 48 (United States) count as sovereign turf, thus helping the lower 48 states when it's shipped to Asia? Was helping the lower 48 states a bi-product of trickle down economics when a small minority got even more wealthy and then issued meager paychecks to a few employees who in turn shopped at Wallmart which repadded the wallets of the small minority who in turn invested 99% of of this circle of help (cash influx from trickle down) into China to cut labor costs. OOOH Yea we did drill Alaska once before. What a grand time it was when a nation came together under hoop-ta-la and "temporarily" beat mother natures icebox by erecting a wonderous, grand, engineering, marvel of the 20th century, God we stood proud-n-tall. Didn't we?

WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE TV AND HEAR ANY U.S. PRESIDENT, DEMOCRAT OR REPUBLICAN GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH?

My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed.

Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.

This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom , Spain , Bulgaria , Australia , and Poland are some of the countries listed there.

The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. THEN EVERY YEAR THERE AFTER IT GO TO OUR SOCIAL SECURITY SYSTEM SO IT WONT GO BROKE IN 20 YEARS.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.

Need help with a famine ? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France .

In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home . On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth.

Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France , or maybe China .

I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France , Germany , and Russia . Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mess amiss.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You creeps have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change.

Mexico is also on List 2 President Felipe Calderon and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security.

Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty - starting now.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska - which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there. They care.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, 'darn too-tin.'

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America It is time to eliminate homelessness in America . To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought: You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you are reading it in English, thank a soldier.

pinalbooster, please explain that ignorant comment.  Why does the fact people are sick and tired of paying for illegal (if you don't know what the term illegal is, please look it up) aliens make you question whether someone is a Christian or not?  Are you such a goody-two-shoes that you are willing to foot the bill for people who have come to our country illegally, exploited our system and have become a major burden to all taxpayers?  Look at the money our schools spend to teach bi-lingual education.  Could that money not be better spent?  Look at all the money the state spends to care for illegals who flood the emergency rooms.  I could go on and on about this, but fortunately, we have people like you who are willing to step up to the plate and pay for this garbage.  You are truly a better person than me for I am no longer willing to pay the steep price.  But please, don't pray for me, I'm not worthy of your time.

From one of the Delaware forums:

Runnerman wrote: I bought a bird feeder at Lowes the other day. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it was. I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.

Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table . everywhere!

Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.

And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like it used to be.... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.

Now let's see. Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.

Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments  are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak  English.

Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to 'press one' to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than 'Old Glory' are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

If we have to go to the prisons to locate the parents that would show how much crime comes in with illegals. I bet you might be one yourself.

I have to ask do you honestly see what is happening in this country with the illegal aliens? $330 billion dollars a year goes to those illegals. That is more money then we spend shooting up Iraq for our President. Do you just see what you want to see and do you wear rose colored glasses all the time?

As far as I'm concerned even the children shouldn't be here either. You can send them back also with or without mommy and daddy, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other.

Just because you are born here doesn't mean you are a citizen. You must be invited into this country and then be born here, then you would be an U.S. Citizen. And in case you didn't the main word in that sentence it is
" INVITED ". That is the way I believe it should be. Not because you drop an anchor baby here does it automatically make that baby a U.S. Citizen.
And if you feel that the anchor babies are automatically U.S. Citizen then. When they are 18 years old then, they get the same rights as any U.S. Citizen has. But till then they have none.
And if you do have an anchor baby here then the possibility of them getting a green card would be " no way Jose " , " to the end of the line " , " when hell freezes over " , " you got a better chance of selling ice cubes to polar bears ".

They don't understand English gold. They keep saying their rights are being violated but they don't understand you have to be here legally to have rights. the only rights I think they have is not to be beaten and to get a trip back home where ever that is.

Simple question: What part of the term illegal immigration is so confusing? The illegal part or the immigration part.If I remember correctly most of us had mastered spelling and definition by grade 6.

I support Joe 100%. How can you not when he is just upholding the laws.

Have you read this definition?

Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting
the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.

Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house). According to the protesters:

a. You are Required to let me stay in your house
b. You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan
c. You are Required to Educate my kids
d. You are Required to Provide other benefits to me and to my family

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house.

And what a deal it is for me!!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior. Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you to learn MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?!

Can this be true!!! Guess we can all look it up and verify each one of them.

It's time we wake up.  Boy am I confused.  Listening to the partisan  "politicals," I have been hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on terror that are bankrupting us.  I now find that to be ridiculous.

Now ... I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them.  I have included the URLs for verification of all the following facts.

1.  $11 billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens each year.  http://tinyurl.com/zob77

2.  $2.2 billion dollars a year is spent on  food assistance programs such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens. http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

3.  $2.5 billion dollars a year is spent on Medicaid for illegal aliens.  http://www.cis.org/articles/2004/fiscalexec.html

4.  $12 billion dollars a year is spent on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally -- and they cannot speak a word of English!  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.0.html

5.  $17 billion dollars a year is spent for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

6.  $3 million dollars a DAY is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens.  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

7.  30% percent of all federal prison inmates are illegal aliens.  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

8.  $90 billion dollars a year is spent on illegal aliens for welfare & social services by the American taxpayers.  http://premium.cnn.com/TRANSCIPTS/0610/29/ldt.01.html

9.  $200 billion dollars a year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.  http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

10.  The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens.  In particular, their children are going to make a huge additional crime problem in the U.S.  http://transcripts.cnncom/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

11.  During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens who crossed our southern border, also as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from terrorist countries.  Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroine and marijuana crossed into the U.S. from the southern border.  Homeland Security Report.  http://tinyurl.com/t9sht

12.  The National Policy Institute estimated that "the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion, or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five-year period."  http://www.nationalpolicyinstitute.org/pdf/deportation.pdf

13.  In 2006, illegal aliens sent $45 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin.  http://www.rense.com/general75/niht.htm

14.  "The Dark Side of Illegal Immigration:  Nearly One Million Sex Crimes Committed by Illegal Immigrants In The United States."  http://www.drdsk.com/articleshtml

The total cost is a whopping $338.3  BILLION  DOLLARS  A  YEAR.

Are we THAT stupid???

WOW tonight is a landmark for the American Freedom Riders with their battle against the powers to be for not enforcing the illegal alien laws. They finally made the TV News channel 10 at the location they were protesting.
I hope this will help them with their fight and please all donations are always welcome.

Liberals, in reality Marxists who now couch themseklves as "progressives" pander to minority illegal aliens because it means future votes for themselves.  Remember when Bill Clinton granted amnesty to 1,500 aids tainted Haitians?  New Democrat party votes.  How about his pardon to thousands of criminals?  Same scenario of success for Democrats and doom for society as a whole.

Why would you think they would do anything else but look the other way. Most people sit on a fence and watch the world go by. They hope that it doesn't stop anywhere near them, so they don't have to do anything but watch. They also hope that maybe someone else will do something but when we do something they complain that we did something. I need to get a pair of those Rose-Colored Glasses everyone is wearing these days.

The Chandler Rapist was a twice deported, drug dealing, illegal alien.  Why are the liberals turning a blind eye to what is happening here?

I guess most of the people don't really care anymore about illegals aliens coming into this country. But that is probably one of the biggest problems in this country today. Everyone says someone else will do something about the problem. It's a sad state of affairs we are in.:X

"You old white people. It is your duty to die."

This should open some eyes.  Look, for example, at all of the educational and elected "American" officials speaking out.  Notice their political party affiliation.

HISPANIC LEADERS SPEAK OUT!

"Go back to Boston! Go back to Plymouth Rock. Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You are old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you. Leave like beaten rats. You old white people. It is your duty to die. Through love of having children, we are going to take over. Augustin Cebada, Brown Berets:

"They're afraid we're going to take over the governmental institutions and other institutions. They're right. We will take them over . . . We are here to stay." Richard Alatorre, Los Angeles City Council.

"The American Southwest seems to be slowly returning to the jurisdiction of Mexico without firing a single shot." Excelsior, the national newspaper of Mexico :

"We have an aging white America . They are not making babies They are dying.. The explosion is in our population. I love it. They are sh------ in their pants with fear. I love it." Professor Jose Angel Gutierrez, University of Texas

"Remember 187--proposition to deny taxpayer funds for services to non-citizens--it was the last gasp of white America in California " Art Torres, Chairman of the California Democratic Party, !!!

"We are politicizing every single one of these new citizens that are becoming citizens of this country. I gotta tell you that a lot of people are saying, "I'm going to go out there and vote because I want to pay them back." Gloria Molina, Los Angeles County Supervisor, !!!

"California is going to be a Hispanic state. Anyone who doesn't like it should leave."  Mario Obledo, California Coalition of Hispanic Organizations and California State Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare under Governor Jerry Brown, also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Bill Clinton

"We are practicing 'La Reconquista' in California " Jose Pescador Osuna, Mexican Consul General

"We need to avoid a white backlash by using codes understood by Latinos." Professor Fernando Guerra, Loyola Marymount University

Are these just the words of a few extremists?? Consider that we could fill up many pages with such quotes. Also, consider that these are mainstream Mexican leaders.

THE U.S. VS MEXICO : On February 15, 1998, the U.S. and Mexican soccer teams m et at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The crowd was overwhelmingly pro-Mexican even though most lived in this country. They booed during the National Anthem and U.S. flags were held upside down. As the match progressed, supporters of the U.S. team were insulted, pelted with projectiles, punched and spat upon. Beer and trash were thrown at the U.S. players before and after the match. The coach of the U.S. team, Steve Sampson said, "This was the most painful experience I have ever had in this profession."

Did you know that immigrants from Mexico and other non-European countries can come to this country and get preferences in jobs, education, and government contracts?

Corporate America has signed on to the idea that minorities and third world immigrants should get special, privileged status. Some examples are Exxon,Texaco, Merrill Lynch, Boeing, Paine Weber, Starbucks and many more. Wake up Americans.

DID YOU KNOW?: Did you know that Mexico regularly intercedes on the side of the defense in criminal cases involving Mexican nationals? Did you know that Mexico has NEVER extradited a Mexican national accused of murder in the U.S. in spite of agreements to do so?

According to the L.A. Times, Orange County , California is home to 275+ gangs with 17,000 members; 98% of which are Mexican and Asian. How's your county doing ?

Is education important to you? Here are the words of a teacher who spent over 20 years in the Los Angeles School system. "Imagine teachers in classes containing 30-40 students of widely varying attention spans and motivation, many of whom aren't fluent in English. Educators seek learning materials likely to reach the majority of students and that means fewer words and math problems and more pictures and multicultural references."

WHEN I WAS YOUNG: When I was young, I remember hearing about the immigrants that came through Ellis Island . They wanted to learn English. They wanted to breath free. The y wanted to become Americans.
We welcome legal immigrants who come to this country the right way!!

Now too many immigrants come here with demands. They demand to be taught in their own language. They demand special privileges--affirmative action. They demand ethnic studies that glorify their culture.

About Phoenix PD Ops Order 1.4
01-07-08 Unless you have absolutely no interest in public safety, you will find the following information very difficult to believe.

If you are an illegal alien and speak no english and have absolutely no proof of legal residence, but do have criminal tendencies, then Phoenix, Arizona is a good place to be.

In Phoenix you can commit murder, rape, kidnapping, assault, or any other serious felony and the Police Department has instructions from Phoenix Police Chief Jack Harris NOT to verify your citizenship status with ICE.

This is also true, of course, with all misdemeanor offenses. The Police Department allows a suspect to "self ID" (give any false name that comes to mind) and then writes a citation which contains a "promise to appear", and then turns 'em loose. You can probably guess what percentage ever show up in court.

For purposes of clarity, this policy is not the choice of the Phoenix cops out on the street, the officers who risk their lives every day trying to actually enforce the law. This inane policy is mandated by Operations Order 1.4.3 as created by Chief Harris and supported by Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon.

The police officers union adamantly opposes this policy, but they are ignored and suppressed.

The American Freedom Riders have initiated a campaign to inform the legal residents of Phoenix of the details of this Operations Order and to gain the necessary support to get it rescinded.

Phoenix PD Ops Order 1.4
Illegal Aliens hit the Jackpot... but Americans lose!

Phoenix Police CAN NOT call "Immigration" against illegal aliens for felonies like:

Homicide, Armed Robbery, Rape, Child Molesting,
DUI Hit & Run, Manslaughter, Robbery,
Breaking & Entering, Reckless Endangerment, Fraudulent Schemes, Assault & Battery,
Aggravated Assault, Lewd Behavior, Burglary Forgery,
Public Drunkenness, Assault w/ Deadly Weapon,
Extortion *, Identity Theft *, Hostage-Taking *, Kidnapping *
* UNLESS violating Arizona human smuggling law

For misdemeanors, there is NO call to ICE. The illegal alien generally promises to appear in court later, is released, and promptly gets lost, never to be seen again until he is arrested for his next criminal act. The question is: How serious will the next offense be? Will yet another police officer be killed? Will another drunk driving illegal alien kill more children?

Phoenix PD Officers CAN send illegal aliens to get help with immigration, housing, & social services to Chicanos por la Causa and Friendly House. Both agencies receive public tax $$$.

Phoenix PD Detectives WILL help illegal aliens claiming "I'm a crime victim" to obtain a U-Visa for themselves and family members to remain in the US.

This is an outrage!

Mayor Phil Gordon knows it's an outrage but refuses to step up and demand that it be corrected. Instead, he has created a smokescreen to give himself political cover. He has created a "panel" to review Operations Order 1.4.3 and recommend changes - maybe.

This so-called "blue ribbon" panel consists of four lawyers whose agendas have not been supportive of border security. In fact, one of them is currently prosecuting Border Patrol agent Nick Corbett for defending himself against an illegal alien intruder in southern Arizona last year.

This panel has no legal authority and we don't need it. JUST ENFORCE THE EXISTING LAWS.

Dobbs: Mexican president's blatant hypocrisy
By Lou Dobbs
CNN

Lou Dobbs' commentary appears weekly on CNN.com.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- Mexican President Felipe Calderon Sunday demanded the United States surrender its sovereignty, abandon the rule of law and accede to Mexico's inherent supremacy.

Lou Dobbs says Mexican President Felipe Calderon is showing "blatant hypocrisy" on immigration.

In his state of the union address to the Mexican nation, Calderon established his imperialistic imperatives: "I have said that Mexico does not stop at its border, that wherever there is a Mexican, there is Mexico. And, for this reason, the government action on behalf of our countrymen is guided by principles, for the defense and protection of their rights."

Calderon protested the U.S. government's increased raids on illegal employers of illegal alien employees and work site enforcement. In what is little more than a faint nod to the Bush administration's responsibility to enforce U.S. immigration law, the Department of Homeland Security had planned to send out notices to employers from the Social Security Administration informing them of non-matching records between an employee's name and Social Security number. These employers would then be forced to resolve any discrepancy within 90 days or be required to dismiss the employee or face up to $10,000 in fines for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants.

But then, ethnocentric advocacy groups and some labor unions, trying to bolster their membership, sued to stop the crackdown on hiring illegal alien workers. A federal judge in California last week issued a temporary restraining order blocking the plan, giving a victory to the AFL-CIO, the American Civil Liberties Union and the National Immigration Law Center, all of which brought the suit alleging DHS exceeded its authority in making the rule.

That U.S. District Court judge ruled as if she were an employee of the Mexican government, rather than the U.S. government. Homeland Security was simply enforcing existing immigration laws. Are we not a nation that follows the rule of law? If not, we're no country at all.

Calderon must have been delighted by the judge's decision. Calderon, like his predecessors, Carlos Salinas and Vicente Fox, has failed miserably to establish policies that would create jobs for the Mexican people and to eliminate shameful, unchecked corruption and incompetence in the Mexican government.

Don't MissEven by Mexico's standards, Calderon's blatant hypocrisy is breathtaking. Calderon told the Washington Post more than a year ago that he believes laws are not a relative concept, nor subject to a personal concept of justice. Calderon declared a big difference between himself and his rival for the Mexican presidency, Manuel Lopez Obrador, was this: "I believe in the rule of law." Obviously he does not believe in the rule of U.S. law on U.S. soil.

Calderon can't have it both ways. He cannot fail his citizens at home and then act as the Great Imperialist Protector of his citizens who are driven by poverty and corruption to enter the United States illegally. The United States provides Mexico with an annual surplus of $65 billion in trade, an estimated $25 billion in remittances from Mexican citizens living and working here illegally, and at least another $25 billion generated by the illegal drug trade across our southern border.

But it is President Bush and this Congress who should be most embarrassed, because they are failing to assert rights for Americans in their own country, rights far short of those demanded by Calderon for his citizens living illegally in our nation.

The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of the writer.

Most mainstream news media support illegal immigration.   They are major

corporations who are linked to other corporations who want cheap labor.

It is not free enterprise since they are linked to still other corporations that

are on the government dole.   They are losing viewers, however, and that is

great news.  No pun intended.

Most Hispanic Americans want the border secured.   I am against round ups

of the illegals here, but the United States has a right to secure its borders.

IF the US does not act, Arizona can put the guard and volunteer groups

(unorganized militia) on the border.    This must be done in the wilderness

areas especially.

Susie Q (how original)... I too have traveled through Europe and most Europeans found it odd that I as a American I could speak several languages (Castilian, German, American, Spanish) since most Americans can't speak the language of their heritage. Everyone spoke English to me (So no I don't believe you!). My family came to the west when it was part of Spain then Mexico, you came after us, learn your history.

All my children have college degree's, I have a Masters degree!

I have a job!

I pay taxes!

I'm a Vietnam veteran , Semper Fidelis!

This is my home!

Did you read everything that was posted???

Look up the word chiste...
