I KNOW Pelosi has made statements about taxing retirements and she DID say that the credit for the reduced violence in the Al Anbar Provence went to the Iranian influence in the area NOT our troops. I heard that first hand-believe me or not. I'm not saying what I said (or claimed she said) was false. I'm simply agreeing that you MAY be right and I'm looking for proof. Pelosi is a Socialist you can't deny that.

My attitude and rhetoric are conservative. PERIOD. if you think that is what's wrong with this country I'm sorry. I don't ONLY think in conservative dogma either-but that is what I belieive in so how can thinking conservatively be wrong? I don't like Nancy Pelosi she is bad for this country and that is how I feel.

You point to the problems in government but then attack a person like me for admitting that I may be wrong as if that is a bad thing?!?!?!? What exactly do you want?
IF you still think I'm an evil conservative take a look at my education post....most conservatives ignore education.

I don't think you're an evil conservative.  Just a bit misguided by internet meme's and some of the rhetoric.

Being conservative is not what's wrong with the country.  What's wrong is conservatives AND liberals perpetuating stereotypes, half-truths or outright falsehoods and just attacking each other.  I hold quite a few conservative positions myself.

And by the way, for the record-- I also think Pelosi is a goof.

Helen get back to Delaware

Mrs. Pelosi being President might be good for the economy , there will be a rise in the sale of Tylenol , Midol and alcohol .

I see her on a soap box starting her 2012 campaign, trying to get on someones short list.

I'm not voting for BHO , but I 'm confident that he has common sense , and the ability to see she is trying to hang on his coat tails.

You just confirmed my thoughts most politicians always test the water before jumping in.They research what people want and then they try and make everyone believe they want the same thing, As for out reaching that would be to get the votes:P

Nancy Pelosi's flying on a larger jet isn't about Nancy Pelosi's desires, as some have implied.  It's about the second in line to the Presidency getting back to her district in a jet that doesn't have to stop for refueling -- for security reasons. It wasn't Pelosi request, it was the House Sergeant at Arms who made the request.  She has flown back to Washington from CA on smaller planes as tailwinds often alleviate the necessity of refueling.   Even the White House supported the decision of a larger aircraft to fly her to California.  Otherwise, Congressperson's should travel economically when taxpayers are footing the bill.

I mean this with all sincerity, WHEN I'm a Congressman I will fly commercially. There is no reason for a servant of the people to fly in a private jet unless there is a security risk.

I will also TRY to operate on half the staff of the person before me; why do WE pay so much for our congressmen and senators? Their salaries are $162,000 a year and they pay for next to nothing. I travel now for work and I have to keep my expenses to a minimum to help increase the shareholder profits. If our government said to the Senators and Congressman you can only stay in a Courtyard or a Residence Inn instead of a full service suite hotel how much would WE save? Helping curb spending in the budget is easy.....we just have to hold them accountable.

Her ranting the other day on the floor shows she needs to be put out. I think she is still mad about not getting the larger plane.

W would veto it but Obama wouldn't-that is a legitimate fear of mine.

I have enough perspective and I'm open-minded enough (even with my conservative glasses on) to say that one party controlling all four branches of government is very bad for the country regardless of the party. I'm a conservative but if there were only conservatives in power that would be a bad thing.....

I'm talking about being objective.  Seriously, what is wrong with you?

4 branches of gov?  Need a civics lesson or is that a typo?  The fed has 3 branches-- you know Exec, Legislative, Judicial...

See you went from she SAID and proposed we put windfall profit tax on stock gains, to oh, that's what libs do.   Your attitude and rhetoric is EXACTLY what is wrong with society today.   You parrot lies, you stereotype and you only think in conservative dogma.   The left is just as bad too.

Think people! Think!  Be objective.

People need to quit drinking the kool-aid (of both sides of the aisle) and dig a bit.

The premise is not even plausible.  What wind-fall profit? -The markets are down 20% from high last year.  Windfall profit on what?  There's be no way calculate that.  Taxes are deferred on things like 401k's and IRA's-- they're not going to tax that stuff.

If if someone were so stupid as to seriously propose such a thing, they'd be strung up by their thumbs.

Are you that gullible and accepting of right-wing propaganda that you cannot look at things objectively and critically to see things as they are and NOT as your stereotyped view of the world?

Uncle, these are direct quotes from Pelosi and they are reflective of her voting record. I the premise doesn't matter, she has said it. Have you not seen anything in the press? The windfall profit word is as annoying as comprehensive because it is thrown around like candy. I agree there is no such thing as a windfall profit but the left is doing a great job convincing the people there is. She SHOULD BE HUNG UP BY HER THUMBS and you are naive to think that in today's political zoo that someone couldn't say things like that and get away with it. MY view and sterotypes don't matter when you are analyzing facts and things that were said!!!!!

Chad, take off your (conservative) red-colored glasses for a minute.  It is false.  She has never advocated 100% tax on stock profits nor raiding 401k to give money to illegal aliens.  They're not direct quotes, they are made up and circulated in a chain-email since 2006.   Do your research.

Find ONE credible news source that has this info attributed to her.  I challenge you.  Any simple research on this shows a bunch of links to blogs perpetuating this lie and several others that debunk it.

The only windfall profit tax stuff that's been proposed has been on the oil companies -- and that's a bad idea which is not happening either.  W would veto it in a heartbeat.

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income espoused by Pelosi ...

WHO OPENED THE CAGE AND LET HER OUT ???

Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying. Read below...............

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. You aren't going to believe this.

Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds!

This woman is frightening! She quotes... "We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest." ( I am not rich, are you?)

When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: "We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as Americans."

( Read that quote again and again and let it sink in. Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it.

This idiot is third in line to be Commander-in-Chief! She is also the same person who gave OUR troops no credit for the progress in Iraq. She gave credit to the IRANIAN influence...Dear Lord....
