Every time you make an unsubstantiated allegation of corruption, you are a liar.

Your previous post about me being paid by the city - that is a lie.

Lady In Red is right...quack, quack, quack.  That's you.

Edited:  Sorry, that's an insult to ducks.

your right all I need is attention ! Don't forget and " Lower Taxes and Honest Government officials." Won't be happening here because of spin doctors paid by the city like you and mrs K!

Now you're a comedian?

Who are you to call anyone dishonest?  You constantly post statements that are half-truths and even flat-out lies.

You are more than welcome to move someplace where there are no city sales taxes.  I'm sure you would still find plenty to complain about.

Paid?   I've never received a red cent from the City of A.J. in any form.  I was cited once by Code Compliance....nice paycheck.   I received a ticket once...nice paycheck.   Have had a couple late book fines at the library...nice paycheck.   If I have so much pull with the City...why did these things happen?   Because I deserved them; but, I would hardly call these penalties a paycheck.     No EF, I am not a mouth-piece for the City of AJ....I am just an EDUCATED voter who actually knows an honest government official when I see one.  As to taxes, our City sales taxes aren't any higher than anywhere else.

Question EF:   if our taxes are so high and if all the official are corrupt, why do you stay?    Can't be because you truly are a crusader.   Oh yeah, I forgot, EF just want's attention--good or bad.

Apache Junction was warned on numerous occasions and went ahead spending on fancy overbudget projects.

I will remind you the 0.2 % tax for them is due to expire in 2010 . I wonder what our forever council will do in the dark to fix that!

0.2% - woooooo hoooooo!

If it would get the lights on the basketball court at Prospector Park fixed, I would glady continue to pay it.

Two tenths of one percent!  Wow, thats...thats...20 cents on $100?

There's more money than that under the seat in my vehicle!

And, we all know they don't do anything in the dark, Elliot.  If it is done, it will be done in a public meeting just like everything else.

Which makes me wonder why anyone who sees corruption and collusion in everything keeps running for office.

Closing the gap between AJ and Mesa will help.

MrsK, if you are okay with .2%, why not 1%?  Think of all the good that you could do with 1%!

Mrs. K....that's just it.  He doesn't want to be part of it.  He just wants the attention !  EF was a "part of it" at one time...he was appointed to Planning & Zoning....then removed for not showing up at meetings.   If he truly wanted to be a part of our community and A.J. he'd be involved somehow in some fashion....just name me one (just one) non-profit he's involved with, just one event in the city that has ever been done to better our community and its citizens--where EF was involved.   Is EF ever involved...nope, not ever.   He does not care about A.J. or its citizens in the slightest...his actions prove that.  He just wants attention, any kind of attention and for as long as people and the newspapers give him attention, he'll stick around like a festering wound...just so he can continue to be a legend in his own mind.

Quack, quack, quack is right - I guess I just have a hard time believing that someone could be so negative, so slanderous, so obstinate, as to find fault with every action the council takes.  And yet he keeps running for office!  That's the part I don't understand.  If he thinks they're all crooks, why would he want to be a part of it?

Mrs. K....why are you wasting your breath attempting to deal with EF with LOGIC?  He has none.  Can't you hear the quack, quack, quack with no substance emitting from his mouth?   His blinders keep his focus on nothing but negativity, so much so that he cannot see anything else...even when it's staring him straight in the eyes...his brain is just not capable of logically figuring anything out but his own agenda.   You know, and I know and the rest of the educated voters in town know that nothing has ever been voted on by City Council that was not on the agenda and as you said, published in advance of the council meeting.   EF just does not want to believe it because if he did...then he would have to fess up to stating that others are smarter than he is and have been all along.   He's a joke and his reputation as a joke is far and wide.   He only blathers because it gets him attention.  If everyone on newszap would quit replying to his stupidity and if the newspapers would quit giving him attention....he would eventually go away because he would no longer have an audience.   That's all he wants...like a child...lots of attention, no matter whether it's positive or negative.   His reputation means so little to him that he does not even care that he is the laughing stock of A.J. and many other cities who know his reputation.

How do they "sneak" that in?  The consent agenda is published before the meeting.

Well, if it dies in 2010, don't they have to do something to extend it?

Like maybe put it on the agenda and vote to extend it?

Quack, quack, quack....I hear EF flapping his jaws again....all the while, saying absolutely nothing.

Just once, I wish EF would be a responsible person and check facts before spewing forth bilge.

What a waste of a human brain to let it rot in such a fashion.

Who is in the black these days, anyway?  Many local and state governemnts are in the red, regardless of their fiscal responsibility.  Everybody assumed the good times would roll on forever, and they budgeted for that scenario.  When the recession hit, revenues fell and most governments got dumped into the red.  You'd have to provide more details about irresponsible behavior to make a case against people, more than just the fact that a budget has gone red, something that's happened to many well- meaning cities, counties, and states.

However, in the future, overly optimistic budgeting should be seen as irresponsible.  It should be easy to see that, given that we actually do make a healthy economic recovery, we will be plunged right back into another recession as we burn all the slack back out of the oil market and drive prices back up to what they were just before this recession began.  The results will be similar.

Maybe the City Council should re-visit the idea of fiscal responsibility!

I bet the 2 million dollars from the over budget fancy City Hall sure would come in handy about now huh?

oh well better shop local 24/7 till we drop dead maybe we will get within budget in 500 years.

George please Resign with Laura !

A deliberate misstatement of the situation.  And you call yourself a patriot and a champion of free speech.

The First Amendment does not give you the right to misrepresent the statements that were made at a public meeting.  See, everyone can check the record and see that you have lied.  Posting the same statements under more than one thread does not validate your point, because your premise is false.  "False" means "a lie."

There's that little qualifier about "if the state takes the money from the city."  See, instead of running off at the keyboard like you do, you should be talking to your state representatives to ask them to put a stop to this effort to shake down cities and towns for money to make up the state's budget deficit.  But no!  You would rather create a smokescreen of misinformation - as if everyone didn't know that already.

George Hoffman has put in years of dedicated service to this city.  Look at how Mesa is begging for money and scrambling for dollars.  A lot of people that I have talked to give George Hoffman credit for the fact that Apache Junction's budget problems are minor compared to those of other cities and towns.  That you are trying to lump him in with Dean-Lytle is pathetic.  There are no similarities and they have nothing in common.
