Then this time be constructive and participate, give your comments as well as others and build a new plan with us, not a one way street here, you may not like some input and at other times you may have a valid point that will come to a debate, like ours at times. Be part of the group and part of the solution and not the problem.        try  it , you may like not being out on a limb all the time.

Why don't you bring your old 1999 plan with you and help us to build a new plan for the future instead of like always destroying everything and living in the past.

Things that go Hmmmmmmmmmm =   your attitude dude.

I think you should look at the 600 nomination signature submited in November and you will know. most in Apache Junction.

I will bring my copy of the 1999 General Plan to discuss what has not been followed by the Apache Junction City Council.

I will spell out the cost involved and why it should not be allowed to happen again.

I will also demand the Public ratify the next General Plan.

Mr Fisher, "Hi Friends"? who could you possibly be talking about here?

Elliot,

The plan is to develop a new plan even the vision statement using as much public input as the public will put in..

Christa, good job on reminding that the process is a long one. Last time it took almost 2 years to complete and adopt. If you can not attend all at least get involved as much as possible for this will shape our cities direction for the next 10 years.

Thanks again Christa for keeping me straight. LOL

Since our city has a form of government that is basically a republic and not a democracy you will not see it go to the polls. Nor perhaps will you ever see it all enacted since it is merely a guide.

Ask your City Council members if the General Plan will include ratification by citizens at the polls.

It seems to me that at many of the Council meetings, someone is requesting rezoning of this or that. (Maybe it just appears that way to me....I dunno)

So, although I realize one is needed and that there will always be exceptions to the rule, how much good does a general plan do, if it's constantly being whittled away by zoning changes?

Am I correct? Misinformed? Totally off my rocker?

;-)

At the last P and Z meeting opening discussion took place and it was said that the new general plan is at least a year long process that will include several public input surveys..

Citizens interested in helping shape our community should plan regular attendance of P and Z and council meetings over the next year

Tonite is a very important meeting at P&Z. They will be discussing front yards but more importantly they have on the agenda, review, discussion, and recommendation of our 10 year update of our General Plan as required by State Law. This is our blueprint for the direction our city will take for the next 10 years. I urge all who can attend to go and make your recommendation or comments know. There will be public meetings on this also but I do not know dates as of yet.
