Let me say this one more time Surprisedstacey. You didn't just "mention" her name, you have put her personal name in the Title of the thread, all that is missing are the neon lights. Are you kidding me?
If she came on here and gave out her personal name, then all bets would be off, but SHE DIDN'T DO THAT and neither did the Assistant to the Mayor and Council. YOU DID! And you have no right to do so.
She is a private citizen who does not even work for the City and relies completely upon her professional reputation for her livelihood as we all do. Now all of her friends, her boss and co-workers if she is working and neighbors know her personal business thanks to you. Too bad none of it's true, that makes it even worse because she won't know who has read this garbage on here and who hasn't.
You should apologize to both of these people as well as the cheap shot you took at the Mayor, he has done nothing to deserve that and you know it. He is one of the most honest people I have ever known and you should be ashamed.

One of those,
I am in your corner. I have written to John Williams and Joe Johnson and will write the others. I have also sent out a blast e-mail to my friends and neighbor's asking them to join me in stopping this. And I ask them to send out a blast e-mail to their friends as well. I also plan to speak out at my HOA meeting.
Unless we as citizens start to make our voices heard this will continue to happen.
I have written to the AZ republic, (Truitt backer) so I don't think they will write the truth.
As for the city papers, they too never seem to get a story straight. There are way to many unanswered questions about these two positions and our local papers just scratched their heads and walked away without really investigating it.
I know you as a city employee can do very little. I just hope the public will step up and put a stop to this.

The only person yelling "recall" is you Reactr. And Mary Ann's name was posted because she is the lady getting the job.
Raz, I did not say anything about Mary Ann's character, but you did. I did say that she was promised a job by the mayor. That was made public when Marian got her job. Cheap shot no, truth yes. You of all people Raz should not be talking about breach of conduct. Your well known for your mud slinging on this blogg.
Maybe the angry letters and the bad press convinced some of the council to take a second look at the HOA water issue. If you remember correctly they turned their backs on the HOA in an article in both the city papers. That is when the phone calls, letters and attorney's started calling the city. Funny how that works now isn't it.

Well, I can answer that. I understand the economy is bad. I understand that money is tight. I'm okay with that. I understand that reductions are needed.
I DO NOT understand why City employees were promised "Pay for Performance" raises a year ago in exchange for working on projects above and beyond the job duties (for many people on their own time.) Now that the employees extra effrorts are done, there is no money.
I DO NOT understand 100k+ per year for the mayors secretary. There is no evidence that she does anything and anything she may be doing was already being done by other (existing) employees.
I DO NOT understand 250k+ to change a building under construction to give the mayor his top floor suites just because he wants it.
I DO NOT understand 500k+ given to a small group of managers just a few months ago. I guess the financial problems were a total surprise 2 weeks ago?
In a few minutes I have saved 850k+. Need more? Feel free to ask. Oh wait, I am just a lowly worker, what do I know?
To the regulars here - yes, I am a city employee, so let the bashing begin.

Just like this so called "committee" the council is forming to "study" the foreclosures. Just what are they going to do with that study? Mayor Truitt going to use the information to buy up those foreclosures? Where's the council going with this stunt?
Hey Surprisedstacy, I don't know who Ms Archibald is other than the fact she is a PRIVATE citizen that you have placed not only her real name on the public blog but also impugned her integrity and professional reputation for all to see without one iota of proof to back up your outrageous charges. In fact you have made many outrageous and false claims in your post.
I believe this to be a serious breach of conduct rules on here. Also with the pin head remark about the Mayor, what a low class cheap shot. .

Why do you rail against the mayor and the rest of the council with no hard evidence to indict any of them? None of you are sure one or two individuals were promised jobs by the mayor. Provide the facts to support your allegations. The contention the newly council members are some kind of "puppets" is absolute nonsense. Look at the voting records since January 1. You will find many split votes. The cancellation of the debt incurred by HOA's for water billing was on a 4-2 vote. Roy, John, Richard,Skip and Joe are NOBODY's "puppets". Suggestion: Come to the surface and present your displeasure to the full council.
In terms of salaries, the city has determined to provide salaries in the top 25% of comparables. I do not know what salaries are paid to council appointees to city attorney and city clerk. Individuals holding these positions are extremely competent and are worthy of their monetary compensation.
Some of your comments seem to be a build up to a recall fantasy. News bulletin: The next election is in 2009.

To me a cost of living raise is not a raise but it is a part of the city contract, therefore the mayor cannot take that away from them. But he sure can when they re-do contracts..
What a slap in the face to the real employees of our city having to sit back and watch as the mayor's newly hired "assistant" gets a raise. Sure bet $125,000.00 could have gone a long way when it came time for raises.
What else and who else has the mayor promised jobs to? Where do I sign up?
The really sad part is that the mayor will continue to do "his" own biding, just under the radar. Just above the law enough to get what he wants. He knew that by putting his "gal Friday" on without having to go to the council that when budget time came he could fulfill his promise to this woman. What a rip off to this city.
Just like SurprisedStacy said, the "Sock Puppets" on the council are probably practicing with their yes button everyday during their "office Hours".
