I agree OOE, anyone says that they "love this heat" has been out in it too long and their brains are fried. :cool:

Someone didn't take thier happy pill this morning!  Well, I'm actually off to enjoy some of this hot weather right now instead of sitting at my desk complaining about it and everything else all day!

Here we go.  I think I do (opinion).  You don't know whether I do or not. (fact)  An average is nothing more than a mathematical approximation, based on at least 2 facts.  Its just a statistical "opinion" unless we know all the facts that went into its calculation.   A fact is an absolute, anywhere and everywhere, and stands on its own.  An opinion is a belief based on non-statistical probability.

He got 6 rebounds in tonite's game, but only 2 last night. (facts)  His average rebounds is 4. (statistical opinion -- relative only to the facts that underlie it)  To me, that sucks. (opinion)  It's 115 degrees outside right now. (fact)  The average temperature in July is 110 degrees. (statistical opinion)  It's hot, or it's uncomfortable, or it's nice and warm. (opinions).

Why do people who do not like the heat move here...didn't you know it gets hot before you made the move?  Geesh...stop complaining and enjoy it...I love the hot weather!  More pool time!

I'm just kidding!  I go from my a/c house to my a/c car.  I feel bad for my kids when they have sports at 4:00 in the afternoon outside but they don't seem to mind too much.  The humidity back east is terrible and I don't understand the whole living in natural disaster territory!  I'm a true lover of the desert and one of the few actual natives!

Your view is one way to look at the next three months.  Many of the rest of us see the same thing as just three more long months of Arizona hell.  Personally, I prefer November's stats as indicators of a more habitable environment (some October days can be downright brutal).

BTW, you seem to like to quote averages.  I've never experienced an average; what's one like?
 :D

Thanks for asking!  My average reply to you could be "Do you pay any attention to facts or stats?"  But I'm glad to know that you have now learned the difference between an opinion and a fact.  Congratulations!  :P

The Cubs' 27-8 start at home is the franchise's best since the 1907 squad went 27-8 en route to winning the World Series.

This is as good as it gets Cubs fans!

Are you kidding Deuce, according to Senator Obama we are about to go into a Depression.  I believed him too because his supporters say he's great on the economy.  (Can someone tell us exactly what makes him good on the economy because I haven't seen his experience or credentials yet on that subject, oh, a different thread, sorry :);)  He graduated with honors from two ivy schools...Big Mac, on the otherhand, brags about having finished 4th from bottom at the academy...is there a pattern here with Repub candidates and incumbents being intellectually challenged?

I did hear on the news today also that the warehouse stores such as Sam's and Costco have done better than predicted and the reason given was possibly it is the Stimulus checks kicking in.  They were partly basing that on the fact that the sales of big screen TV's have significantly increased.  Now, for a country who is supposedly in a Recession and according to Barack Obama facing a possible Depression, how does that happen?  When folks are in such dire straits, losing their jobs, losing their houses and living under bridges, can't afford to put gas in their cars, the sky is falling and yet they are out buying big screen TV'S with that money??   UM....mortgage crisis isn't close to being over with...GM is closing another plant, and stagflation continues...you did know gas is going to top $5.00 by summer.

Just last month the "experts" of doom and gloom were saying that folks would be using their "stimulus" checks on essentials, food and gas because the economy is so hopeless.  So, I see this as very good news.  If they are using the money to buy big screen TV's and don't need it for the essentials, food and gas, then our economy is doing better than what is being reported.....who woulda thunk??  YEH!!  hee haw!! break out the bubbly..maybe our cars will run on it.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared 213.97 points, reclaiming the losses booked over the previous four trading sessions, as investors were encouraged by a strong batch of retail sales results. The sharp market rally came even as crude-oil prices staged a dizzying rebound and Standard & Poor's downgraded the credit ratings of the nation's top two bond insurers. Crude futures rose $5.49, or 4.5%, to settle at $127.79 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the biggest-ever single-day gain in dollar terms on the Nymex.
