Rantsnraves--I am old enough to know who Murphy Brown is..a statement you could not honestly make.....and, yes, this good looking woman, this former beauty queen runner up, this former TV anchor sports woman...is...dumb...why do you think attractive women must be intelligent? Lastly....why do you think that you are now a defender of women's rights when you refer to me or any woman as, "Big Booty"? In your own pitiful way of phrasing it: "what archaic thinking is that?" Rants--you are a fraud...
I'm a defender of anyone who is being attacked unfairly. Need I say more BIG Booty??... LOL
You never need to say more, yet you always do.
This is my favorite......why do you think attractive women must be intelligent? That is so incredibly ignorant I have no answer.
Sorry dear..I don't think that at all--it wasn't my statement..it wasn't my question...it originated in the world of rantsnraves.....Quite obviously, Palin is attractive, and, trust me on this..the majority of Americans do not find her intelligent..not even close.
What makes you say Governor Palin is dumb? What makes her dumb or stupid? Because she's a pretty woman, because she grew up middle class, does that make her dumb? Because she is from Alaska? Because she didn't go to an Ivy League school, does that make her dumb? Because she started out her career on TV, does that make her dumb? Because she was a Council member, Because she was a Mayor for two terms, does that make her dumb? Because she was on the energy Commission for the State of Alaska, does that make her dumb? Because she and her husband have ran their own business, does that make her dumb? Because she was elected Governor of the State of Alaska, Because she was selected as a VP Candidate for the United States, does that make her dumb? What makes Palin to be considered dumb, is the fact that she cannot speak without going off on a rambling tangent (hmmm..sort of like, well, I digress)and she has no cognitive thoiught process which she can articulate.....I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this, you've heard of YouTube? Tina Fey?
Wasn't that your constant hateful diatribe about President Bush? He went to Ivy League Schools, he was born into an well to do family, he was well connected and was a Governor of a large State and President for two terms but yet you continue to call him dumb and stupid today. Not every Republican is dumb just because you say so BIG Booty. Really, they aren't all dumb. LOL bush was dumb and stupid as Gov., as pres., and probably as resident of Crawford, TX. He got to Yale thru dada...he barely passed...he had serious substance abuse problems, he was AWOL from the Tx NG..and he was Gov in a state with a weak Gov. form of Gov...did you know he'd take his naps in the afternoon...very Reagan of him.
I think the very fact you call her that is ...well.....just plain dumb. It says much more about you than it does her. Nobody has that amount of success in their lives at such a young age because they are "pretty" give me a break, there are a lot of pretty women out in the world, what a joke. Only incredibly ignorant people believe that way in this day and age.
Did Barack Hussein Obama get elected because he's pretty? He does have that purty smile... LOL
I'm curious about one thing since you now claim to be a defender of womankind....do you not think it inconsistant to call a woman, "Big Booty" while you are a feminist particularly if you don't know the woman? Now, pay attention, dear...you implied I was someone named Brenda who is running for office....if that were true, hon, I'd have you in Superior Court on the Civil side, dear...so...just be happy you're wrong. It's like saying that the people of Alaska are such idiots that they elected her as governor because she's pretty 'cuz that's all she has to offer. By thinking that, they have also insulted the capabilities of every citizen in Alaska who voted for her.
Looks only get ya so far, Big Booty. Even a completely gorgeous woman doesn't get elected simply by her looks. Would anyone in here vote for a woman for office simply because she's beautiful? No, she has to have something else to offer as well.
Correct. Such a woman must have the ability to quit with less than half a term is left. Such a woman must be unable to take criticsm about her inability to speak without rambling and without winking her eye....such a woman is...Sarah Palin, soon-to-be-former Gov. of Alaska...presently known as Sara the quitter..whose sologan is, 'when things get tough, go fishin--you betcha'.
Seriously, if you think she would have been elected Gov. and picked for VP candidate if she had been like, well, you in appearance, then I guess you should run for gov too. Guess your booty is the envy of teachers everywhere.
Sarah isn't my first choice for a Veep candidate, but I don't go as far as to say she only got as far as she did on her looks. That does a disservice to pretty and smart women everywhere. If looks are that important, then how did Hillary get as far as she did? You see, in the end looks aren't that important when it comes to job qualifications.
She may have been brought in to "liven up" the appearance of the GOP's Ole Boy Network, but there must have been more to her than that since there are other women who are young, attractive and conservative and have bigger names for themselves. Christine Todd Whitman comes to mind right away. In fact, what a lovely pair Eric Cantor and Christine Todd Whitman would make. Cantor in 2012!
At this point, we don't know why she dropped out. Until she gives us an answer, you are only speculating whether or not she can handle criticism, whether or not she's moving on up to the East side, or whether or not she's being investigated by the FBI, or wants to be a judge on America's Got Talent. Until we hear the reason, it's only gossip.

Speaking of huts, I wonder if BHO is paying for his kids and wife to travel to Moscow? Anybody know? That was such a criminal act according to the libs on here for Gov Palin even though she paid what was owed. No question her office took care of the books, I hardly doubt if she was doing it so therefore no criminal intent going on there.
Comments like what were made about Sarah Palin getting ahead because of her looks is probably one of the most chauvinistic comments I have heard in a long time and coming from a woman makes it doubly disgusting. Obviously the poster never had to overcome any obstacles to get ahead in the male dominated business world. Those of us that did, had to work extra hard, be more diligent, etc. to overcome the kind of comments made by that poster, she is really the poster child for setting women back many years...she should be very proud.
Puleeeeee....you really, think Palin hasn't used her looks to get ahead? You foget she was Ms. Alaska runner-up, or Ms. Salmon-look-alike--one of those beauty contests.....then there was her job as a TV sports anchor..You think she got that job based on her command of the language and intelligence? If so, I have a bridge to sell you..of course, it goes nowhere.
Like I said, comments like what you made have put the women's movement back 50 years - thank you, you should be so proud.
Sorry--but not for Palin's looks, her candidacy for VP would have been a joke. After she opened up her mouth, even her looks couldn't save her.

Actually, I would have preferred Palin stay in office..at least to finish her first term...nobody likes a quitter.....especially one who got where she got on her looks and then continuously whined because people pointed out that she is, well, dumb. I do hope she runs for President........if you think she's the one who can beat President Obama, doesn't say much for your party, except that, the party's over.
Interesting double standard...Obama quit his first U.S. Senate term in order to run for president. He was elected as a U.S. Senator in 2004. He began running for prez in Feb. 2007. By all accounts, shouldn't he still be SENATOR Obama until 2010?
After 3 years, he quit his job to run for office with little experience. Some could even say he got elected because of his looks, but that's up for another discussion. Either way, if it's okay one way, it should be okay the other.
<Snip> Caribou Barbie quit either because <Snip>
Wow! Nothing more vicious than one woman's vitriol toward another woman.
BTW, is this avatar you use a picture of yourself? You look hot! Sarah Palin hot! (I won't go where sexist lefties go, but wow!)

Totally, totally different situation. Pres. O. quit to seeks a higher office while Sen. Caribou Barbie quit either because 1. the reports of her being investigated by the FBI are true, 2. she couldn't take the heat of being Gov. of Alaska (no pun intented), 3. she is flighty and has no idea of what she's doing, per Rove and other old Republicans, 4. she really thinks this will help her become President. I select, in order, 3., 2., 4 and 1.

Somebody is showing her age. That is a generational thing that good looking women are stupid and believe the only way women can move up the ladder is by using their looks or by sleeping with the boss. Man, how old are you BIG Booty?? What archaic thinking is that?
I just saw a special on Bill O'Reilly this weekend on Hollywood Icons and Marilyn Monroe was showcased among many (my personal favorite...THE DUKE ). The reason why she always took the blond bombshell roles was because that was the mindset back in the olden days. If you were beautiful and blond then you couldn't be smart. But the truth is she was very intelligent and really resented that type casting but was afraid to object for fear of not working. She wanted to do tough and meaningful roles but didn't get offered any. Pretty sad.
And that explains BIG Booty's sniping attitude about Gov Palin's beauty (aside from jealousy). I see no difference in going after Gov Palin's looks than accusing people of going after Barack Hussein Obama for his race, do you?? They both are ridiculous as well as discriminatory.

Let me get this straight...you're actually following her on tweeter? Ever wonder why it's called 'twitter'?
Actually, I would have preferred Palin stay in office..at least to finish her first term...nobody likes a quitter.....especially one who got where she got on her looks and then continuously whined because people pointed out that she is, well, dumb. I do hope she runs for President........if you think she's the one who can beat President Obama, doesn't say much for your party, except that, the party's over.
In your case it was never what you knew but who you knew.
HaHaHaHa ~ So much for you taking the high road dear.

Very interesting. Didn't see the whole thing, but even conservative George Will was shaking his head this morning on George Stephanopolous over Palin's current doings for which I was ! Seems most don't understand why she's doing what she's doing. One point made by one of the panel which is oh so true, if you are in politics, you need to be able to stand in the fire. Otherwise, you'd better get out -- no whining allowed. Of course, perhaps this IS her getting out?

Good for her. You know, this was the same group that slandered her from day one about baby Trig. What they did was beyond dispicable, it was sick. What a bunch of slime balls and I think it's great that she is pushing back and not taking this crap anymore. More Republicans need to do that and stop this gutter sniping that left unchecked becomes the norm.

This was your bright, shining star?

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - When Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin abruptly announced Friday that she would leave office more than a year early, many wondered what she would do and why she was resigning. Now we may have some answers.

Reports have surfaced that Palin may have quit her job because she was trying to avert a major, yet-to-be-disclosed corruption scandal.
The crux of the rumor is that Alaska building company Spenard Building Supplies (SBS) was awarded a contract by Palin to build a hockey arena in Wasilla, Alaska, and in return, SBS helped construct the Palins' home.
According to Huffington Post blogger Shannyn Moore , "Both structures, it is said, feature the same windows, same wood, and same products."
Max Blumenthal of The Daily Beast wrote that federal investigators have been seizing paperwork from SBS in recent months, searching for evidence that Palin and her husband Todd steered lucrative contracts to the well-connected company in exchange for gifts like the construction of their home on pristine Lake Lucille in 2002

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a human anxiety disorder characterized by involuntary intrusive thoughts. When a sufferer begins to acknowledge these intrusive thoughts, the sufferer then develops anxiety based on the dread that something bad will happen. The sufferer feels compelled to voluntarily perform irrational, time-consuming behaviors to diminish the anxiety.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder affects roughly six million Americans. Its symptoms, ranging from repetitive hand-washing to preoccupation with sexual, religious, or aggressive impulses, wreak havoc in people's lives, and often cause severe emotional and economic loss.

The devastation she will have on the lefts political future is going to be fun to watch...If anyone can get it fired up she can, even if she is not the candidate. They are nervous already. They didnt have much to fear as long as she was governor but now the gloves are off as they say...

Wow Clarz, that is a surprise. Is it because you think she is done so you can be more magnanimous about her now that you don't see her as a threat or did you really mean that? Because the truth is, she's far from done. She is a bundle of political energy and she has the bug. She's far from finished. She prides herself on being unconvential and she knows exactly what she's doing.
You are right about one thing for sure, she does need the money. The libs in her State have brought 15 frivilous and ridiculous ethics charges against her that she has had to defend with personal legal bills amounting to almost a half a million dollars and it costs them nothing to file the complaints so they just keep throwing them at her. It has cost the State of Alaska 2 Million dollars. So how long before Alaska would say enough? Of course, all of the charges have been disputed other than she did pay some money for her kids going with her -- man, that's evil isn't it? She's a real crook ain't she??
We have the chair of Ways and Means being investigated for not paying his taxes on a vacation home property and for taking trips to the Carribean but nobody is talking about that now are they? Just rotten old Gov Palin daring to take her kids with her on a business trip that she paid back when it was discovered she needed to.
These constant financial and personal attacks upon her is beyond reprehensible. Is this how America works now? If you fear an opponent then you set out to destroy them personally and financially with false allegations, lies and by ridiculing and attacking their children? That doesn't say much for the liberal party does it? Shameful.

| Whats with this abandoning their jobs? I guess if she ever was elected President after her first 100 days she is a lame duck and would resign the Presidency. No thank you. We do not need weaklings like that. Even the republicans are stumped and not happy since we now have 2 of them abandoning their states one for sex and now god knows what with Palin could be one of a hundred things all bad with her past history. If running away from your state and country is supposed to be a great and powerful message then someone needs to get their head checked.

The worst reasons include: she's having/had an affair; she couldn't take the pressure of the Vanity Fair article in which the Repubilcans called her a "nightmare"; or another Palin is prego.
On the other hand, quitting now allows her the time to make some very serious money as the dolts will pay any thing to hear her babble...(she realllly could use a teleprompter)....if that's the case, we have a knuncklehead who quits public service to chase the bucks (who said PURE capitalism was evil? c'est moi)...and how does that contrast to our president who left behind serious bucks to further his public service...what a contrast in values.

Sarah Palin Will Step Down As Governor
Notice: NO TELEPROMPTER and no uhhh's.....
By KSFY News
Watch The Video [/url]
Political fireworks on July third. Alaska’s Governor Sarah Palin says she is resigning at the end of the month.
Palin says she's stepping down to avoid being a lame duck governor and isn't saying why she is stepping down. Her announcement on Friday in Wasilla, Alaska was brief and to the point.
Governor Palin says, “ Many just accept that lame duck status and they hit the road, they draw a paycheck, they kind of milk it and I'm not going to put Alaskans through that. I promised efficiencies and effectiveness. That's not how I am wired. I'm not wired to operate under the same old politics as usual. I promised that 4 years ago and I meant it. That's not what's best for Alaska at this time… I really don't want to disappoint anyone with this announcement now with the decision I have made. All I can ask is that you trust me with this decision…And I can not stand here as your Governor and allow the millions of dollars and all that time go to waste just so I can have the title of governor.”
Palin was republican John Mccain's running mate in last year's presidential election.
She is not giving any clues if she is stepping down as Alaska’s Governor to run for president in 20-12.
Alaska's lieutenant governor, Sean Parnell, will take over as governor at the end of the month.

She's a powerful force in the Republican party, so I don't fear her at all. I'm just happy she's a Conservative.
