As I set here thinking about tomorrow and the fact that I have lost one son defending our country and it's freedom and now I have another son at basic training ready and willing to do the same, I am proud to be an American. I can't help but think of all the other parents who hold their freedom so precious because they too have lost a child to war or that they too have a child or children serving. I hate the thought that while we will be watching fireworks tomorrow night that will put my 8 year old in awe at how they get the fireworks so high in the sky, me I can't believe the colors they pack in them, there will be so many of our military who will see a different kind of fireworks. I remember July of 2006 when my son was serving in Iraq and had lost one of his good friends Brett Tribble (his Hero as he called him) I wondered that day how hot it was there in Iraq, how many bombs had gone off that day, how much gun fire he had heard that day and more
importantly was he ok. I have the same thoughts running through my mind now only about the men and women who are now over there on what should be a great holiday, but we all know war nor death takes a holiday. I want to thank all of those who served with my son, those who served before him and those who are serving still and the ones to come. We here in the states could not celebrate this holiday if it weren't for our forefathers who gave us this Independence and if not for those who have served and made sacrifices for us, some paid the ultimate sacrifice, but they all gave in one way or another. I think about the guys who have stayed in touch with me over the past 2 years 9 months and 20 days, guys like Jeremy B., Gabe H., Jason D., Andrew W, Ray Ray M., Micheal H.,and those whom I have had the honor to come to know as a result of loosing Jeffrey like, Jarmon, Deane, Taylor, Baxter, Garnes, General Books, and many many more. I am so thankful to have
these people in my life, people who check on an old Mama and people I can vent to and never criticize me about what I say. God Bless all of you. God Bless all of our Military and God Bless America 'THE LAND OF THE FREE ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE". God Bless all of the friends who have been there for me and my family in the worst of times and may you all have a safe and blesses July 4,2009 and many more to come

. Jesus died willingly for our sins and our military die for our freedom.

We better enjoy this Indepedence Day like no other because for the next few years it will be more like "DEPENDENCE" Day with our freedoms being legislated away.

So, everyone get out there today and wave those flags and pray to GOD thanking him for our great Country and pray it doesn't get CHANGED anymore than it has been from what our Forefathers invisioned for us which really was freedom for the pursuit of happiness, not dependence.:(
