| Excuse me, But I live in Hartly. Not "in town" but I resent your insinuations that "Hartly" does not care. You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink. My yard is always well maintained, as is, all of my neighbors. So, as you "drive through", think of your own town/neighborhood and just how much control you have of everyone in it! No matter how much you wish you could, You cannot force people to clean up their yards. So please stop judging Hartly based on a few "slobs" as you drive through!

| A few years ago, they started to make some noise about it and forced one homeowner at least, to clean up the yard and porch. There was garbage, old furniture, mattresses, etc just strewn about. There was even an article about it in DSN. I thought they would continue but it seems to have ended with one home. I agree, the town should force the cleanup. But where is the pride in your home? Why would you *want* your yard or porch to look like that?

| People in Hartly are just trying to keep pace with Cheswold. They are pretty much the same appearance.

| Driving through town is just ugly, looks like a junk yard. Houses lined with trash and junk everywhere. An example is the house just north of the post office. Overgrown grass and unkept houses. Where is the pride in maintaining your property. Is the town doing anything to clean up areas in town? Hartly has the potential to be a great small town, but it more and more look a junk yard.
